He isn't wrong. The whole switch up / experimental trend was popularized recently by 4th gen groups such as AESPA/GOT and their copy-cats such as NMIXX and many others. Most gen 3 KPOP are much simpler such as blackpink, TWICE, etc Doesn't make the song good or bad, just different. You dont have to take it so personally.
