I absolutely adore your home. It's a real credit to you and your husband.
You have a real eye for decor, it's all so well thought out and simply beautiful.
And I have to say that you always look so stylish too.

I love your home, it’s tasteful and comfortable. I love the mix of treasures from your travels, family heirlooms and thrift store finds.
I’ve watched your previous tours but I never bored. I always notice something new with each viewing.
I sleep with the fan on all year long, I thought I was the only person with that quirk!

Hi, Linda. I just love your home. I would take an older, charming home any day over a larger trendy home. Your home is timeless and a real gem. I don’t think you have too many clothes at all. To me it seems like a “normal” amount and it’s so nice to see that you enjoy thrifted and second hand items as do i. Yes, i would say for the past year i have really shifted to buying second hand, mainly tops and accessories, as pants are harder for me to find the right fit at a thrift store. I usually shop at savers and a local church thrift store nearby which is really nice and has some great brands because of the neighborhood it’s in. Since I’ve shifted to working at home, i no longer need the dressier outfits. So i donate those back or sell on Facebook marketplace so others can enjoy those pieces at a fair price. I can’t even shop for clothes anymore at regular stores lol. I love thrifting for so many reasons but i think when you thrift and/or donate it’s a wonderful feeling of everything coming full circle with purpose.

YES! to needing the fan if it is warm enough. Otherwise, white noise is wonderful. Helps to
cover the sound of barking dogs, etc when needed.
I do buy much of my wardrobe at thrift shops. I like it!
And, yes we have a "man cave", too! Thanks for sharing!

Linda - your husband’s arrowhead collection is impressive. I used to go arrowhead scouting with my uncle near by The Garden of The God’s . I’m a girl with an obsession with rocks and I owe it to my uncle & his passion for hunting and FINDING Many Ancient Treasures! It took patience & miles of walking but the payoff absolutely precious and a memory of us that I will treasure forever... thanks for bringing my reminiscence back of that to me today 🤍

Hi Jackie while we all know the brutal and beautiful history each county has and the ethnicity of both sides the true gathering of arrowhead - pottery- tools-head dressings ect...was only out of honor love and respect of the Native American people to protect and preserve their legacy so that we all Americans and non Americans can learn and grow from their good and not so good hardships they endured on their journey and along the trails and yes it is so sad to think of the horrific things all of our ancestors had to faced on both sides and in between it bring me great joyfulness in having tangible artifacts my uncle and I bonded over cried over and also laughed about while giving back to honor all of those amazing humans who built the pathway the best way they knew how so the next generations will travel and appreciate each other’s lives God has Blessed us with . Thank you so much for your comment and your kind thoughts God Bless You Jackie

Excellent tour! I’ll be watching again and again over the weekend. I find I catch something new with each viewing. My ambient “noise” is to play one particular episode of the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond, set the volume just low enough so I can sort of hear everything but not quite and I fall to sleep before the end of the episode. Also from a large family, my entire childhood was falling off to sleep hearing a brother and sister playing/talking in one room, two brothers tussling in another room, Mom and Dad talking and/or refereeing in another part of the house.

Oh, I’m not as weird as THEY have always made me feel!
I also love walls of bookshelves….every wall could be a bookshelf as far as I’m concerned!
And YES to fans, regardless of air conditioning situations. I need air moving. MOVING!!
I love your home because everything has a story. I just love to walk into someone’s home and have it speak to me about the people who live there. The worst thing ever is what I call a “Hobby Lobby flyer home.” And… A home without a book in sight makes all my red alerts go off! Lol.
    You’ve done a beautiful job.

I always sleep with a fan on at night. I like to sleep under a warm blanket and comforter and the fan not only creates a little air moving but also a cooler environment. I don’t however, like air blowing on my face at night. I love your collections but one of the things I love most in your home is the bench made out of the oriental rug. My cape cod style home and garden are very curated with both new things, family things and thrifted things.

Dear Linda and Stewart, due to the fact I'm a new viewer of your UA-cam videos (thank you to my cousin for sending me the information) I recently watched a back episode of your house tour with your basket with your things in beside your bed. You inspired me with this idea so much, I made my own from crochet using my scrap yarns. I am a thrifter! I have found cashmere sweaters, beautiful blazers, new Italian leather shoes and countless decorating items. I especially love finding framed cross stitch pieces or paintings that are in my color palette and speak to me of home. The thrift store is my happy place. Postmark is excellent, as well.

We’ve lived in our 1925 Tudor for 38 years. We too have grand mahogany moulding which unfortunately was painted white when we purchased the home. My husband lovingly removed the white paint. We had an unfinished side attic that we converted into a laundry/craft/sewing room. Great video!

My grandparents had a telephone alcove in their house that was a pass through from the dining room to a bedroom. Brought back nice memories. They also had a milkbox where the dairy left their milk and cream and if they weren’t home when the “egg lady” delivered, she’d leave the eggs.

I just love your home! I purposely did not say house because you have made it such a home. I love to watch your videos over and over to see each little detail (your outside videos too). I also like your fashion updates. You always look so nice. Your videos bring joy to my life. Thank you for sharing. ❤️🦋🌸🌺🌷🌹p.s. I used to only use a fan for noise and air. Now in the winter I use a noise machine and in warm weather I use a fan and noise machine. I am not a good sleeper! Also as far as clothes I only shop online. I don’t thrift shop, but I do donate clothes at least once a year, so I know others can use them.

Linda, Thank you for sharing your upstairs rooms. My home was built in 1917 so I can relate to the squeaky floor, small closets and windows that rattle. I love every detail. We sleep with a small fan year round. The majority of my home furnishings are thrifted. I think it’s a great ideal to interview Stewart if he’s comfortable doing it. Your fashion is so inspiring. My Husband is from a small town in Oklahoma call Bokchito. A quaint little place that’s stuck in time. You drive through with a single blinking yellow light in the middle of town. Hugs from Texas.

Hi Linda, very generous of you to share your lovely home. I am quite tall and finding clothing in charity shops was very difficult, so I have found a reasonably priced shop for jeans. When they get past their best, l use them for gardening, even patched my last ones because they were so comfortable. Your good reminder about needlepoint, l should get back to it. When my daughter was born ( l made up the design) l did a house, surrounded by a border of flowers, butterflies etc. and embroidered the words "For I have loved you so long delighting in your company" words from a song supposedly written by King Henry the eight. A lovely memory. So maybe Linda a series of needlepoint designs inspired by your garden and home might be appreciated by those who do needlepoint. Love from England 🧑‍🌾😊

Yeah. A 28 minute upstairs house tour. Just loved it. Seen some parts before but never get enough of it. Enjoyed all your anecdotes as usual, and your "postage stamp" bathroom is just delightful. Always interesting seeing the architecture and former function of old style homes. That niche which you said may have been for a telephone is just stunning and I am glad you did not have it removed or covered. Good idea to have a his and hers room. Thank you Stewart for the close up shots of the family photos. You know what your viewers like. Thanks again. Love from sunny Sydney, Australia

Linda your home style and fashion sense remind me of my step mom. She was a really great decorator, utilizing antiques, estate sale, thrifted items with lots of unique accessories and art to create an interesting, comfy homey atmosphere. She was a great cook also and hosted many family dinner parties. Everyone loved coming to her house from young to old. The kids enjoyed the interesting items placed around the house to look at and play with. She did it all on a limited budget, collecting pieces over many years. Her collection of Roseville Pottery was extensive, yet she didn't pay much while she was collecting it. She just had a good eye, bought what she liked, and happily the value of what she'd purchased inexpensively over the years increased many many times until her collection is worth quite a lot today. I enjoyed this. Reminds me of "Grandma Lu", as the kids call her.

Hi Linda! My youngest son absolutely needs to have the fan on as white noise. I have a tiny one that I keep on my bedside table, which is not noisy but it helps cool me down on the hot summer nights. I had already seen the walkthrough of your bedroom and office when you posted it before....but tonight I noticed that we have more things in common! The same book American Indian Myths and Legends. I have always loved to read about the original inhabitants of our countries (mine Canada, yours USA). I am sure if I were to scan through your library there would be many more that we have in common, no doubt! Thanks for showing us your home. I love your decor. When I saw your QVC copper trellis thingy, I thought I would put a piece of marble or wood on top to make a small side table...and there it is in your office!! LOL!! And yes!! I do thrift my clothes! I find amazing things at church basements, and thrift stores!

It was nice to see your upstairs. It is just as beautifully decorated as your downstairs. In another video I thought your desk was on the other side of the room? I am impressed with all the shelving of books and treasures. I do not like the sound of fans when I sleep. I live in a rural area and I enjoy the quiet. I do shop at thrift stores and when I wear clothes from there and get compliments, I have to tell people they were thrifted. I wish I had of shopped at thrift stores when my kids were young.

I just LOVE your house tours!! I always come away with another great idea to try! To answer your question of the day...YES, we definitely sleep with a fan on...both for the "white noise" and for the air! I tend to get really hot in the night, so the air is usually blowing my way...LOL! LOVE, the oriental rug used to make your bench cushion! I gave my son and his wife an old oriental rug that was my mother's and like you, they are hiding the holes! I am going to tell them about your bench! I am a bit late on my comments, but this has been quite a busy week! We are getting ready to start showing our house at the same time we are making plans with a contractor to start renovations at my father-in-laws home that we will be moving into. Also, had our son here, ( our musician) this past weekend. He has been in the studio, working on his album that will be coming out! We are super proud of him!! Lots going on in our world! I sure do enjoy every vlog you put out...It's always fun to get a little "peek" into your charming world! Sending lots of love and blessings your way!

I love your home! The decor is beautiful. Your style is fantastic, and I need a fan running sometimes, more for comfort than white noise. I love books too!

I love the way you love everything you have. I believe that is why we love to watch you show with so much respect what you have done with your beautiful home! We have had 2 old houses and I miss them all the time. The table you showed is one I bought on Amazon,I put it ,in the sunroom.I have had many orchids and I am going to start collecting them again. You are my biggest inspiration! Can’t wait to change things around in the garden.

I so enjoyed the two tours of your home. I love how your respectful of your husband and honor his privacy. I too like to shop at Goodwill for clothes and accessories. It’s so fun. You never know what you’ll find! I sleep with the fan on only in the summertime and I do sit on my made bed, but smooth it out once I stand up.

I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again…you have a lovely home. Us Brits tends to see so many very new American homes on tv etc so it is very refreshing to see the interior of a much older home and a bathroom that is the size of ours over here 😂. Didn’t know if you were aware but ‘All Saints’ is a British brand and they do have beautiful clothes but are a bit expensive… I’ve been buying 95% of my clothes from charity shops (thrift stores) for about 30 years now! 🧡💚🧡💚🇬🇧🇬🇧

I love your bureau. I’ve been looking for a small side table in that finish. They are hard to come by. I guess they’re extremely popular right now. And the ones that I do find are too large for the space that I am trying to fill. Part of me enjoys the hunt And part of me is impatient. There is something to be said for a home that has been built up over the years. That when you look around all of your furnishings have memories behind them.

I love your style from your thrifted wardrobe, home's architecture, your decorating style, and especially your garden design! Yesterday, I was in a local thrift store in a small college town. It was so refreshing seeing so many college students thrifting and saving money! We moved in a new country home 4 years ago and between thrifting, FB Marketplace, family pieces, and auctions, almost all our furnishings are previously owned. With a little time and patience there is seldom a reason for me to retail except plants and fertilizer!

Your home is beautiful and I love all the stories behind your furniture, art, and memorabilia collection; those things make a home v.s. a house.
Classic never goes out of style. Most of my closet and home furnishings/decor are thrifted or second-hand. I've done this all my life! In my younger years, I thrifted because my single mom had no discretionary money to spend. But now that I am financially secured, I still do it! I love the thrill of the hunt and frankly, older items were made better with better materials. My obsession with thrifting has transferred to my daughter who looks forward to our weekly "hunt". In fact, her friends are so impressed with her sense of style that they have asked her to take them thrifting! I think thrifting is financially smart, earth-friendly, and a creative endeavor. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Hello Linda, I’m behind with the blogs. Love the tour! I do not have to have background noise to sleep but I love nature sounds with classical music CD’s that I have had for years thunderstorms are the best. I am like you, I love rambling around in thrift stores, antiques & resale shops. You has a sentimentality about thing and have a story for each I can relate to as I keep and treasure my things as well.
Omg my aunt and uncle had a phone niche with a phone book cabinet in there house. I would play with it as a kid when we would visit.

Hi everyone 🌷Linda, I also am a passionate thrifter. I started a ‘Hope Chest’ when I was a teenager, collecting things I’d one day use in my first apartment. Garage sales in those days and I would refinish cast off furniture. It seems to have been a part of my DNA as no one in my family did it. Fast forward almost 50 years and I’m still at it! I have earrings and jewellery I can’t remember a time I didn’t own. It’s always a chuckle when someone asks where I got something and I’ve had it sooo long I can’t possibly remember 😉
My husband and I have separate rooms now and we both love it! I have my own craft room and he has his own workshop. Happy in retirement and living the dream. 😊

Your new quilt & shams look great and I love your new table arrangement under the portrait. It sets off the lamp with red shade quite nicely. I have what’s called a MIL suite - small bedroom & 3/4 bath - between the kitchen & den on the east end of the house which is where I sleep and work (the den is my studio). The master bedroom at the north end of the house is my husbands territory which I try to leave alone as long as is sensible. The rest of the house sits within it’s southwest vertex.

Really enjoyed the tour of upstairs and peeks into your life! Our 30+ year old home has lots of squeaky floors; after viewing your tour, perhaps I can reframe my opinion about them to one of charm rather than annoyance 😉 Dulles Glass is local to me and they are great. So glad you’ve also had good experience with them. I donate lots of clothes to thrifts but now tend to get my post-retirement wardrobe from Costco. 🤣 Casual and comfortable all the way, although I always try to wear earrings, even when I’m in sweats and a hoodie! Thanks for sharing your style and tips, be they gardening, decorating, or fashion!
