- As promised in my first video that introduced the car, I will be uploading these videos as part of an ongoing series following the restoration of the underside of my Clio 172 Cup.
Being 17 years old and having travelled more than 100,000 miles, rust and corrosion are starting to set it. Join me on my journey to put that right.

Great job. After looking under mine last year, It's definitely something I want to do to my 182.
Ah beam looking super super pretty. Love it! Stub axles were easy to take off because I had them off after getting major scrubbing at Bedford 😂
Haha that explains it! Compared to the stub axles on the beam that came off of the car, they were a dream to get off.

Your video quality is very professional. That rear beam and ARB look brand new. I've subbed and following your restoration looking forward to part 2. Are you going to be refreshing your engine bay too?
Thank you! Part 2 is in the works. Definitely. If things go to plan, I have a spare engine that i'd like to rebuild - so an entire overhaul is on the cards!

Looks good and it’s probably a better solution to paint the rear beam, as opposed to powder coating, as with the latter the corrosion just comes back. Did you use any converters to stabilise the steel prior to applying the Cold Galv Spray?
Do you know the part number for the 172 cup stub axle
Stupid question you may be able to answer. Would these axles fit on a standard 65hp 1.5dCi Clio without having to change the brake booster, since I'd be going from drum to disk? I ask because I've been considering refurbing my rear axle and was wondering if I could source an axle with rear discs instead
What was your way of capping the lines whilst restoring to stop the oil going everywhere? Cheers
I'll be honest, because I was using new braided lines for the rear I just clamped a set of molegrips on the old rubber ones until I changed them!
