Rapline kills on BTS songs too: Tear, Ugh, Ddaeng, Baepsae, Cyphers 1-4, Run BTS, Nevermind etc.
He never "dumbs down" lyrics, the lyrics are different, cause in bts songs he writes for the theme they choose as group and on solo he writes personal thoughts.
"Dumbed down" is last thing you can say about bts lyrics. Just lusten to Pluto, Paradise, Whalien.
Bts is most multifaceted group i ever saw even in their group albums they have so many styles and topics, which is rare nowadays

    You have much to discover
    about BTS. Just three months
after their debut in 2013, they
    released N.O-a takedown of
    the corporate conformity that
    gets shoved down the throats
of young people in South Korea,
    which results in worldwide high
    rates of teen suicides. Heroic.
    The corporate media there did
not like that, & tried to sabotage
their rise in many ways. You will
learn that BTS has earned their
    place as legends, through hard
    work, artistry, and their fierce
    devotion to making art that
    is meaningful & powerful.

Yoongi doesn't dumb down anything. Any content he puts under BTS and under solo projects are his choice. Everything BTS does as a group and as solo artists are completely intentional.

If you have only heard BTS's English songs, you don't know BTS. BTS's repertoire (more than 10 years of work) covers a wide range of styles, from hip-hop and rap to ballads or Latin pop. And the lyrics of their songs are loaded with meaning. Of course they have songs with simple lyrics but the vast majority touch on deep themes such as self-love, anxiety, depression, the social expectations that are placed on the backs of young people, etc., etc. Their rapline (RM, Suga and J. Hope) have songs like Cypher (from 1 to 4), Ddaeng, Tear, Uhg, Bapsae and more, which do not detract at all next to Daechwita. I invite you to take a look at BTS's discography or at least the songs listed here. Greetings

he does this in bts songs too idk why yall talk like you know what you talking about. bts arent "too corporate" they have plenty of group songs where they curse and talk real shit if yall would do group albums with lyrics instead of sticking to music videos youd see that. ALL of the members are capable of doing this in the group or out of it. they have FULL creative freedom.

LOL...BTS rap line (RM, SUGA, & J-Hope) doesn't come to play! They go HARD. BTS was originally just supposed to be a hip hop group, with the lead focus around RM. Thank god they didn't, as it wouldn't be BTS without the vocal line. I would really encourage you to watch their song "HIP HOP PHILE/LOVER" (preferably the live version w/eng subs) which RM, SUGA, and J-Hope wrote back in 2014. They sing about their influence, inspiration and admiration around some of Hip Hop's greatest. It's really an ode to the great's. I think you guys will be really impressed. 💜

Hahaha great you all enjoyed Yoongi's Daechwita! BTS is not PG13 haha Even in their very first BTS album when they debuted, they went hard. There will be tracks in their earlier albums when you'll hear the rappers say s**t on occasion. If they swear, there is definitely an emotion attached to it and not as a filler. They do not hesitate to question societal expectations of the youth (No More Dream, N.O., Spinebreaker, We Are Bulletproof Pt2, Baepsae, Go go etc), they question government leaders (Am I Wrong), of course they respond to the haters (rapline Cyphers, Ddaeng, Ugh etc), comfort Army (2!3!, Magic Shop, Pluto, Whalien52, Anpanman, 134340, Mikrokosmos) and talk about their experiences, feelings about the pandemic (Dis-ease, Life Goes On etc) among so many other brilliant main and B side tracks like Hiphopphile, We On, Attack on Bangtan, Paldogangsan etcetc Their solos within their BTS albums also go hard - Yoongi's Nevermind, Shadow; Namjoon's Persona
Enjoy discovering all these great songs of BTS plus their solo albums. You ain't seen nothin' yet. 😉🤣💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
    P.S.
BTS lyrics can get quite cerebral because they love wordplay, metaphors, analogies, history, satire and can get philosophical etcetc RM in particular can influence Army to buy the books that he has read which he sometimes gets inspired to write lyrics based on those books 😅

At around 3:46, u guys were talking about how Suga probably is more corporate when it comes to BTS, but in my perspective, I think the boys just know what they want to release as a group and as a solo artist. I think that in the group, they all still have distinct personalities in the songs they write, but they also know what the priority of the group is. But it doesn't mean that it's not them, it's just that they know what each other's role is in the group. Like what they always say, teamwork makes the dream work”. And this is one of the things I love about them. Hope u dive into more BTS songs and discography. And also check out other groups too, like Seventeen and Enhypen. Hope u enjoy ur Kpop journey ❤

I'm not sure how much you know about Min YoonGi aka Suga/AugstD....but as you liked his MV then the following info might be of interest to you.
Suga/Agust D began writing music lyrics and working with MIDI at age 11 and held a part-time job composing and arranging music at a recording studio at age 16.
Active under the name "Gloss" (wordplay on his name YoonGi, which means "to shine") as an underground rapper in his hometown Daegu, He originally entered Big Hit Entertainment as a producer at age 17 and became the second member to join BTS..... At BTS debut in 2013 he was 20 y.o.... he is one of BTSs main producers/songwriters/composers and has over 150 song copyrights.... he also produces for other artists and has won awards for his work.... he is one of the fastest rappers in South Korea.
Suga (SHU-GA.... from Shooting Guard - the position he played in basketball) ...... AgustD = SUGA + DT (Daegu Town - his hometown) Spelt Backwards
Between his commitments as a member of BTS, Suga/Agust D took advantage of time on the plane and in hotel rooms after concerts to continuously produce, write and compose music.
In an interview for Grazia Korea, Suga/Agust D expressed a desire to release the music he wanted to do without having to consider popular appeal or music ranking. He intended to release his music for free in the form of a mixtape to avoid such considerations, commenting that an album "has a feeling of being trapped in some sort of framework" due to the need for company involvement in promotion and advertising. He has released 2 mixtapes - and recently his first official album (of which he continues to maintain full creative control)
Developing Agust D musically on the base of hip hop, much of Agust D's inspiration for the lyrics came from his own stories of dream, youth, and reality. In order to differentiate his work from that of his work as Suga, he developed the alter ego "Agust D". He is best known for his honest hardhitting lyrics.
Bookish Theories UA-cam channel has really good explanations to BTS videos as there is a lot of cultural references and depth to this song that really will blow your mind
This is the first song in a trilogy..... He is a master storyteller.... a fellow army best explained the trilogy as -
Daechwita... ridding himself of the need to prove his worth to others
Haegeum... ridding himself of the confines of modern society
Amygdala... he investigates the inner demons and trauma that started his confinement in the first place.
Suga/AgustD wrote, composed and produced the songs, he conceptualised the MVs and had creative control (working as usual with Director Lumpens (Choi YongSeok) who does most BTS MVs)
    Fun facts -
The gun used was a Colt M 1860 ARMY
Daechwita is Traditional Joseon Korean Royal Parade/Military Music - notifying all that the king is here
Yoongi(Suga) is a member of the clan of the very last empress of Korea.
Daejanggeum Park is where the MV was filmed.... It is a giant film set that doubles as a public historical park where people can come to "experience" old times.
Hope you have a great day💜💜Sending Greetings from Australia

Thanks for the reaction! That's my Suga , my boy my bias in BTS. Suga or Agust D is definitely different from the other members especially when it comes to solo project.( although each of them has something to offer to every fan's preference). Suga's song is a little bit darker, raw, direct and straightforward especially when it comes to dissing the haters, if you know tge history of BTS drom their early career facing a lot of lookdowners, hate and undersestimating them, Suga might be kind of chill , quiet and introverted guy but he is a fighter. He got not hesitation of slamming the haters with no flowery words expressing himself of what he is and thoughts which he can do that when he is doing a solo but not when he is in BTS. He not a beating around the bush guy but his music, his song is real , true and laying the facts.
DAECHWITA is part of his trilogy songs ( DAECHWITA,
HAEGEUM & AMYGDALA) . Please react next the HAEGEUM, it will bllown you away! He just won 2 awards recently Golden Rap Performance Award for His song HAEGEUM 2023 and Korean Golden Artist Of The Year Award 2023 @ Pop Golden Awards which was held in LA a month ago.
The other 5 members in BTS
Got an award for their solo too.

The Cyphers (pt1 to pt4), UGH, Ddaeng, Outro Tear (my favourite, watch the live at Wembley with Eng subs)), Nevermind, Hip Hop Phile, …plus even some seemingly ‘fun’ songs have subversive messages like Baepsae.

Not quite correct that hard ass rap solos by Suga were entirely separate projects from the more vanilla corporate BTS. BTS rappers were encouraged to express themselves individually by the Big Hit CEO through Soundcloud mixtapes. In Daechwita Suga actually makes a lyrical call out of CEO Bang P D along with displaying a satirical drawing of his CEO penned by Jungkook. This is something which shows a level of friendship which exceeds honorifics. Further, Big Hit studios, producers, advice and many of the aspects of the video shoot and creation stemmed from the corporation. Bang P D actually is on video asking BTS rapper RM why you have not made a mixtape. Further BTS album tracks such as the Cypher Series and Ugh contain aggressive rap with expletives. So keep listening and you will find some treats.

Oh! You need to listen to Ugh (rapline) or Agust D, Give it to me, the Last (Agust D)... The rapline is awesome! Any of them has a different style, all excellent. RM is the philosopher, but he has poison in his tongue, too. Suga's characteristic is rawness (and poison 😅). J-Hope is "softer" but he can be sharp (to cut), when he wants. Most of his solos are very happy (rhythmically talking), but you have to pay attentio to his lyrics.

They don't "dumb down" their lyrics ANYWHERE btw. Every song has its own tone and message that they wish to convey with it. They write lyrics matching that environment.
If song is fun, lyrics are fun.
If song is sad, lyrics might make you wanna end it all.
Nothing about their art is simple by any means.
Their group songs are beyond introspective. You actually need to read, research and FEEL to truly touch meaning of their words.

He said he is done for now with the Agust D name because he has said everything he wants to say through his lyrics and music (as of now) but Yoongi is still Agust D and Suga, they r all part of him. He said he's not sure what he'll do for a future solo project (like under what name he will release it. or just go with Suga) but that he'll think about it but for now he is putting down the name Agust D

Nice reaction, but you have no idea how hard the 3 rappers from bts really are, suga and Rm came from the underground rap scene in Korea prior to Bts I suggest you react to Agust d self track title Agust d and Rm joke and react to j hope Arson to just see how the rap line of bts are 3 of the greatest Mc in the world! Check out the 2017 cyphers medley to see the 3 of them rapping live it will blow your mind!

Ok, so I suggest you check out the rest of the rappers next, there are 3 of them: RM, Suga, and J-Hope. RM is the lead rapper and overall leader of the group, he's the only one that can speak English fluenly. Suga also goes by Agust D when he does his solo music, and it's also kind of his alter ego name as well. J-Hope is not only a rapper but he's also the lead dancer of BTS. Here are some recommendations of some music videos/tracks you should listen to:
Suga/Agust D: Daechwita, Haegeum, Amygdala (in that order, it's a trilogy and tells a story), Agust D (self titled track), and Give it to Me. All those have music videos, but also listen to the songs D-Day, Huh?!, and SDL, there's no music video for those ones, but they're really good.
RM: Joke (watch the music video with the English translation!), Monster (no music video but really good), Do You, Persona (under BTS but it's solely him on the track), Still Life with Anderson Paak, Wildflower, and Closer (no music video)
J-Hope: Arson, More, Airplane, On The Street with J Cole, Ego, 1 Verse, Base Line, and HangSang (the last 3 don't have music videos but they're really good).
Also check out the tracks Ddaeng and Ugh! that the 3 of them did, and their Cyphers that they also did together too, there are 4 cyphers. Cypher Pt. 3 is the favorite in the fandom but my favorite is Cypher Pt. 4. Hope you enjoy! 😊

You should see how BTS started out with their Hip hop songs. The first 2 members were already known in the Korean Underground Rap community. Daechwita is A song that calls out the haters and shows the struggle within Agust D against himself. It is the first song of an autobiographical trilogy of songs. The other 2 are Haegeum and Amygdala. Please check them out. Other great BTS rap line songs: Ddaeng, UGH!, Cypher 1,2,3,4, No More Dream, We Are Bulletproof, Attack on Bangtan. The 3 rappers each have their own mixtapes and albums out:
RM (Kim Namjoon) - Mono mixtape, Indigo Album.
    AGUST D (Min Yoongi aka. SUGA) - AGUST D, D-2, D-DAY.
J-Hope (Jung Hoseok) - Hope World mixtape, Jack In The Box album.
Plus, their rap is a part of most of the full group songs, so you get to enjoy it in a majority of their music. Buckle up for a great ride if you continue listening to their awesome discography. You will not be disappointed.💜

Bts had and has to go down in the lyrics for their songs specially singles and tittle tracks that they have choreos cuz they have to promote them in Korean music shows aka perform them in broadcasting so if they don’t, they will get ban , even with all of that, their first discography that got every song allow to perform in broadcasting was their album love yourself: tear in 2018 aka 5 years after debut. Also even some songs that they had performed in broadcasting had some changes to live broadcasting ( if the channel let them to do that ) like Dope and cypher pt4
So in other words , you can say the rappers go more PG 13 in songs that want to perform in Korean broadcasting and in besides they aren’t much towards their career , ofc now they are more mature so they don’t talk about that stuff much in their group stuff. Since the rappers solo work started with mixtapes they never needed to do that cuz those songs can’t chart since they were all in SoundCloud for free. And later with their solo official work , it’s up to them what they want to be ( if they want to perform it on broadcasting or not )in a Korean music show , in rap line case non of them did it , so they didn’t had to worry about that , but for radio in SK is the same so only a few of their track got the green light to get radio spins , in Korean radio.

How do you explain this isn't corporate when his agency puts out the songs he does for BTS and the songs he does as Agust D? BTS albums have themes and concepts and he raps based on what they want to say as a group. His solo work is him speaking for himself. ALL of them do that with their solo work. They say what they want to solo and as a group. Also BTS swears in group songs as well. When you jump around musically and don't understand how BTS works, you get a very limited view of what they do.

It's so funny how ppl listen to BTS's 3 english songs think "oh that's enough for me to know how they are as a group". Pls check out more of BTS's discography before saying something like "this is Suga's true self, he's brand/corporate friendly when rapping in BTS songs"
BTS has countless hard hitting songs in their official albums since debut in which the rapline kills it with hard hitting rap. All the cyphers (1-4), UGH, Baepsae, Am I wrong (in this song Suga makes direct mention of a korean politian's remark abt the korean ppl, it's basically a political protest song which all BTS members performed live of national korean televison), RUN BTS, Tear, No More Dream, Dionysus, Not Today, Mic Drop, Louder Than Bombs, Sea, Shadow, Nevermind.....you get the point
Yoongi himself said Agust D and Suga are basically the same person, his values, morals, opinions and messages don't change, he just gets to be more personal in his solo music bc he's not making music with 6 other ppl who also have things they want to say. His lyrics in their korean songs are just as explicit and hard hitting as in his solo work, they're just usually abt different topics.
Thnks for the reaction, really hope you all keep exploring BTS music without a pre-conceived idea of what you think BTS is or what their music is like (as solo artists or as a group) bc I promise you, you are most likely dead wrong abt it all.

I thought you reacted to BTS quite a few times, but you talk like newbies. BTS has a rap line: RM, Suga (Agust D), and J-Hope and they are good - even by Western standards (which has definitely been “dumbed down” by mediocre rappers). You also haven’t paid attention to BTS’s lyrics. They write their own stuff and go deep. You really need to dig deeper into BTS’s music before making rash judgments. You know nothing yet.
