Thanks for watching, and dammit! I was sure I remembered them breaking from fire, but you're totally right. I even went back in to the game to check. I have to pin your comment now to combat my misinformation.

@@powderedwater67 Ha, well I always figured that the world would be a lot better if everyone could admit when they're wrong or don't know everything,so I gotta try to live it. Glad to have you.

@@powderedwater67 it's true. I always think that maybe it was just my nostalgia, but they age well. I'll probably still be going for another run in the nursing home.
I know what you mean, I've always loved the originals. The whole reason I made this video is because it was going to be part of the other Spyro video, which is pretty negative and made me think more about why these were so great. Anyway, thanks for watching.
One thing that made me love the original trilogy so much was the level design. Not only the color palette, the worlds inhabitants and the design overall. I always thought the designs of the skyboxes were so pretty and inspirational - they always made me wonder what lies behind the visible parts of the levels, what kind of locations could be there etc. The worlds of Spyro actually inspired me a lot while drawing and planning my own stories as a kid.
Yeah I agree, I loved imagining the world that all the "worlds" existed in, there's so much potential there to still be built on, even just expanding the themes that were setup in the games we already have. Sadly, with Activision having the rights and now microsoft, I don't know if we'll ever get Spyro like that again.
Spyro was my first game and has always remained my favorite throughout time. Once every couple years me and my siblings get together and play a speed run against one another. Big sis always wins. ❤
The original spyro trilogy were the first games I ever played and they were a way of bonding with my sister and mom. The spyro games were one of the only games where we all liked them. This video brought me back and for that you got a subscriber.
I remember playing this on the demo game disc that came with the PS1. I loved it so much and BEGGED my parents to buy it for me. 😂 I think we got it from Best Buy. I can't remember, though 😅.
I did the same with ff8 and the pizza hut demo discs, but I don't think spyro was on one of those. I probably saw it in a game informer and begged my way to it for Christmas lol
That's really cool, I've never actually heard anything about the game's release anywhere outside the US. The fairies and dragon statues spelled things out pretty hard, and the second game introduced the "hover" mechanic for that last little bit of boost, but I would have rather just had the higher jump. It never made sense that he could only pump his wings one time.
I do tend to hyperbolize for humor, but in fairness sake, I haven't played them in many years. I put Gex in the same tier as Croc and Bubsy when I was younger, but maybe it's time to give him another chance?
Good vid, btw the iron chests won't eventually break after multiple flames. Only with a head charge.

@@KalTheSkeleton ty, maybe it was during the super flame from the fairies or the power ups.

I've enjoyed Spyro since 1999. I'm 32 now and i've gone back to play them several times over the years. Spyro never gets old.

As someone who was born in '91, I've always loved these games, but the older I get, I seem to appreciate them even more.

That's really awesome, and it goes to show how special some of these older games could be. This one comment would be worth making the video by itself.
Man, Spyro was a big part of my childhood. Great video.
Same here, it was an awesome series. Maybe one day we'll get another. Thank you for the compliment, and for watching.
Spyro's so cool, and cute to boot
hey man, nice commentary, love the structure of this essay, its chill, helps me focus while I draw
That's the highest compliment I could receive, thanks for your time, and your words.
Nice. I've always liked Spyro, and this was a pretty good way of putting why. Good job!
Thank you, I appreciate that.
This is a REALLY great video, awesome job, my dude! Very well thought out, nice narration, love it!
Thanks, I'm glad to hear you liked it, and appreciate you checking it out.

Liked and subscribed. Good video. Hope the channel grows
Thanks, at this point, I just shove whatever in to it and hope for the best lol.
in the Japanese version it is full of signs explaining what to do. also Spyro jumps a little higher to make long glides easier

Definitively.
