Thank you and yes the channel continues to slowly grow. I have always said since the dawn of social media, I would rather have 10 followers that engage in the conversation than 10 thousand followers that just like a post. I appreciate the comments and thank you.

I'm very happy of the fact that there are creative people like yourself willing to share their thoughts and creations online and presenting it in a medium to long format. I also appreciate that your heuristics for good content is community engagement rather than some arbitrary aggregate of clicks. Hearing you put it into words made me realise my own apathy in the matter. If you enjoy something, you should also contribute where you can-my two cents.
I know you did not want to get into your journalling habits, but I will venture a question anyway as I take great pleasure in the habit myself. Do you only use analog equipment, or together with digital tools either in tandem or as an archive?
Thank you for the great content you so consistently provide, I'll be sure to engage in content I enjoy going forwards.

Thank you for the kind words and it means a lot to hear others feel the same way. I do my best to leave comments for others because I know how much it means to me. I will keep doing what I love to do but I have to balance between feeling good about what I am doing along the way.
My journaling is all analog to slow down my thinking and my emotions when I am writing. My writing is more about asking myself why I behave the way I do and questions my beliefs about life and what is going on in the world. It is something I learned studying stoic philosophy and my journals are used to look back on and see how I have changed over the years. That is why I started to carry a pocket notebook for those bad days and I just feel I need to write or when I have a success in life. They come in handy to capture those moments and expand on them in my regular journal. One of my goals is to break away from the cell phone and computers and really take the time to write about the important things in my life. I understand it is not for everyone but this has really helped me with some big changes that have taken place in my life and I will continue to face obstacles moving forward.
I know this was a long response however it is a subject that I am passionate about. Thank you for asking and I hope this gives you some insight about me and maybe help you with your journaling habit.
      Mike

@@solitaryrpg Your passion and your ability to communicate it is one of the reasons I subscribed initially; such an inspiring show of creativity and engagement, I love it.
I would love to one day see the venn diagram of interests and passions in my subscriptions list, because it's almost uncanny how much overlap there is. I also take notes and journal using analogue tools-to slow down, but also because I love the sensation and act of writing. I must admit to owning a metric ton of stationary and fountain pens. Stoic philosophy (really philosophy in general) is also an interest of mine, and though I have not read anything of Ryan Holiday-I seem to remember you referring to his works-his videos was the reason I picked up a couple of books on stoicism. I do have an esoteric interest in programming and open-source, however, I can't seem to ever manage taking digital notes. Even though they are infinitely discoverable and linkable.
Do you have a self-imposed structure or a set of questions you ask yourself-taking after Aurelius-and if so would you mind sharing your thoughts and experiences with doing so? I find it difficult to remain consistent with a more rigid writing habit and would greatly appreciate hearing more about your practice.
Even (pronunciation: ˈeːvən or Evan if difficult)

@@reelneim I am not a fan of digital logging for anything. I like physical media and also enjoy the art of writing on paper. I have been learning from others that digital media can be lost and once it is lost it is gone forever. I think it was Steve Jobs that kept his journal on a computer and something happened to the hard drive and the journal could not be recovered. This is a person that created some of the best advancements and could not get her journal off a hard drive. There is a fear that we will lose history or history could be changed due to digital media. Look how they have gone through and changed movies to fit a new timeline. I don't trust my computer with this task and just keep on writing on paper and have found it to work best for my purpose.
The question I ask really come from what happens in my day. The one that gets answered the most is why do I allow other peoples behaviors or words have a negative effect on my life. Why can't I be present with the life I have at the moment and seem to be thinking of past events or things that have not happened. Those are my struggles in life so those are the questions I ask the most. I don't know if these are questions that will help you with your writing but that make me take a hard look at myself and question my actions. The one thing I have learned is actions are more important than words.
My favorite book from Ryan Holiday on Stillness. Really learning how to be present in life and enjoy the gifts we have been given.
I hope this was useful for you.

Indeed, the notion of a centralised and fully digitised world library is dystopian. Then the victor really could rewrite history.
Thank you for engaging in conversation with me, it has brightened my day and inspired me. I look forward to more quality content coming from you and I'm slowly, but surely working through my backlog of videos.

Hey! Congrats on your work with Tiny Epic! Was wondering how you felt about Pirate Borg vs Castaways (also Mork Borg based) for your Hot Springs Island game.

      @solitaryrpg  4 місяці тому

I will have to look at Castaways see what it does differently and how it would work. Thank you for asking because I forgot about that book. It is hard to keep up with everything that comes out for Mork Borg. It is even harder to remember what I already own for the game. LOL
