Was recommended this by youtube's 'random low views video' system and am very glad since I only recently was messing around with random-table story generation, I'll definitely have to check some of these out and there's others that I'm sure some friends of mine would love.
Dark Fort is the original Mork Borg, Mork Borg means Dark Fort :-P they took the basic ideas and expanded them and added style. But Yes I am in love with everything Mork Borg these rules are great for all solo players for almost any game. There is an expanstion to this it is like 5 bucks adds alot more and of course like everything you pick what you like and throw away what you dont want :-) I am making several Characters atm for Mork Borg going to do an into game for myself and expand upon it from there and give the characters something they want to do or achive then try to follow that as a their current main quests and see how the world comes out. The second part of this also has some great hex scrolling to add a little more to the game as well as more stuff like traps. I printed this out myself along side the "alone in a city" rules then some of the simple solo dungeons. Have them in one big folder. Have other folders for other things like a folder for more monsters and one for other dungeons or small quests to use or draw from and several of them have tables to roll so you can reuse them and keep it different. I am very excited if you cant tell lol
Sounds amazing! A couple of questions - Are you setting your adventure in the standard Mork Borg world? If so, where are you starting your characters and will you draw on the mythology of that world significantly? And what resources - if any - are you using to create the motivations for your characters?
@@lone_adventurer As far as the world I will be using all the Mork Borg feel to it I am having it so the offical "world" is actually its own area and there is an outside world where I will be setting so If I want and I can travel there :-) I am drawing some stuff from bestiarum miniatures they have DnD and Forbidden Paslm stuff they put out, take some power points from them already have some such as locations, names of NPCs one of the big things they have is called The Penitent Crusade they go after and track down people who have to be punished for their crimes so they get people and punish them by making them fight agaisnt evil forces for 100s of years to pay off their crimes. (they have a campgain advacement for that as well if you are in one) Two of my guys I have is a Prophet of a Dead God and another one is Fanged Deserter so they are wanted for one Hertic beliefs and for running away from their fighting force and is wanted (their traits go well with this as well) They also have personal problems such as the Prophet, he has something that follows him for an agreement he doesnt not remember I am saying he is the only one who can see it and wants to find out what it is he has forgotten and how to stop this haunting. Stuff like that. I also will be using everything for the Mork Bork book, Cultist book and Heretic books alongside the solo rules to work on pathways, random dungeons or areas. as well as some supplements for different dungeon or mission ideas I can roll up if i want a bigger quest, I also have several things I got from Gizmo's Itch for creatures, missions and extra effects. You should check it out he does the Books of Misery and lots of other stuff atm its all bundled for less than 4 bucks, book of misery vol 1 and 2 is normally almost 20 bucks alone on itch or drivethrurpg so for even that alone its a steal :-) lots to draw from if and when I want or need it. I am pretty good at coming up with stuff as well tbh and the doing semi random monsters and areas with those books help a hell of alot as well. My first game is going to be a simple dungeon I found on itch and when my party gets out of it they will end up on a beach full of broken boats (if any characters died they will find more there its why I am doing several extras to randomly pick from with a dice) and that will start the basic opening of the first real quest to find out where they are and that is going on drawing from Beastiarm Miniatures DnD story using just power points and events to from that to create my own plus random stuff from those other books.
@@lone_adventurer Oh yes I am also using those books to pre make NPCs, some areas like towns, villages etc... so I can then roll on and mark down in a "journal" to keep track of so I dont have to do it on the fly and spend a while going back and forward between the books as much.
@@yagsipcc287Thanks for taking the time to explain your plans! Sounds like you're mashing together a lot of stuff! I like that you're including the core MB world as a region you can optionally visit - clever. I also like that you're starting your party off in a fairly straightforward dungeon and using that to launch them into theain campaign. Thanks for highlighting Gizmo's bundle - I'll definitely be grabbing it!
@@lone_adventurer No worries his stuff is great and well worth it. Also its not alot tbh just the core game stuff (three books) solo rules and then extra bits like the books of misery if I want to mix it up down the line and then the bestiarum miniatures stuff is just getting basic story beats to aim towards as current goals They also have monster stats since they do both 5th ed and Forbidden Paslm stuff based on the same events I have the Mork Borg stats as well if I want to use them or not always an option. Then the charts are there just to save game time since I have limited time for hobby stuff, a little work now will save tons later on. I will see how it goes anyway :-)
@@sharkymouth I shall have to take another look. They certainly didn't come with the version I printed out. Maybe they updated the file since I downloaded, and I didn't notice...
@@lone_adventurer Yes, I think he updated the file at some point. I'm assuming everybody got the new version, but apologies if I'm wrong. Worth a look anyway :)
Hell yes!! Can’t wait for you to play some Mork Borg! :D Thank you for covering Solitary Depths!
An absolute pleasure. I enjoy looking through it and cursing your layout skills 😛 Mork Borg definitely high on the agenda now...
There's a free background book available online for Corny Gron. The latest version is the KS version that comes with a complete adventure.
Sounds awesome - thanks for the heads-up!
Thank you for the kind words about Eleventh Beast! I really hope you enjoy it! Please reach out if you have any questions!
You're welcome - such an intriguing-looking game! I'll let you know if I have any questions!
Yes, Evlyn did the art for Crime-Fighting Luchadores!
I know 🙂 and super-awesome it is too!

I didn't even know 'random low views videos' were a thing but I'm glad you found me and enjoyed the video!

Really looking forward to some mork Borg content and maybe even a little forbidden psalm thrown in as well for a mashup hybrid 🤜
Here's hoping! I can definitely see me working some Forbidden Psalms into whatever I end up doing with Mork Borg!
@@lone_adventurer brilliant
Fret not, the Citycrawl component of Solitary Defilement is the Alone in the Crowd supplement, not a change to the SD book itself.
Thanks, yeah I worked that out already and have got a copy of Alone In The Crowd sitting patiently in the basket of my printers 🙂
Preparing to have the jealous
Tsorny, means black in polish highlanders jargon.
Good to know, thanks!
Don’t worry, fairly sure Alone in the Crowd (city crawl rules) comes with the Itch version too now.

I just pushed play and I have no idea what to expect.
