But I think the tesla should be a law enforcement vehicle because studys say the #1 law enforcement vehicle in 2024 is the ford interceptor utility. I hope that law enforcement does not use full electric cars because law enforcement is my dream career, and I am four years away, and it will be awful it is is. I hope vehicles in the US do not go fully ev and we stick with gas and hybrid.

The “1980” Camaro was actually a 79. SSP Mustangs came into service in 1982. The LTD/Crown Victoria was first launched in 79 and carried thru until 2011. In the mid 70s, the B-body Dodges and Plymouths took over a fair amount of the police market.

I once had a 1980s caprice classic painted in black and gray. It was funny to see how many cars slowed down around me because they thought it was a patrol car.
Initially they bought whatever they could afford but later on they had to get faster cars. American made cars mostly, initially for convenience. Later on special law enforcement versions of the cars were made. Worth mentioning that each county has its police or sheriff's department and they each chose a model so there will be a diversity of cars.
Just to clarify: the late 70’s Camaro was NOT a police package vehicle, however the California Highway Patrol use a few with minor modifications to evaluate the feasibility of using pony cars as pursuit units as big block V8’s were being phased out. Also the Challenger never had a police package either but I believe Broward county in Florida had at at least one.
