About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

I can not imagine Tracy feeling unhappy about any chore she tackles! She thrives on seeing productive jobs being completed. She strikes me as someone who loves a challenge, and who loves to learn new skills ( as her diverse abilities have demonstrated). Pride in a job well done is why this family has accomplished so many of their dreams to date. No job is too hard when you love what you do. Some people seem to get the strangest impressions when they see a Family working together to achieve what they all dream of. I have never seen a more cohesive group working to their own abilities and strengths. I for one admire you all together as a great family and applaud you.

I don't know which would be harder trying to stop Tracy from doing things or getting her to do what she isn't want to. She is an amazing lady, strong minded and strong willed.

Tracey is an inspiration for older women, with her no-nonsense, can-do attitude. She is also smart to work hard and keep fit. Older age does not mean we should slack off, rather just know our capabilities and push hard sometimes to keep the heart and body working well into older age. All those beautiful French pastries go straight to the waistline otherwise and excess carbs are deadly. Fitness is key to good health. Good on you Tracey.
The only thing I see anybody "making" Tracy do is become deeply admired and respected for her strength and determination.
You can see the love and devotion between Terry ash and Tracey,she's so proud of her boys and any mother with that much love always does things to help,nothing is ever a chore when you love a child no matter the age your son or daughter is always your child and to be involved in the transformation of this beautiful chateau what more can one ask

Cleaning out the gutter/drain at the entrance is what proper maintenance is all about. IF ONLY our local town and city maintenance crews would do the same. Then, we wouldn't have so many flooded streets during down pours. Proper maintenance is in the details.❤

I’m sorry. I have to disagree. Dan has taken the dead burnt out 50 years old château ruins that has no running water no electricity putting all the floors in almost by himself.
I’m not minimizing the work that is done on this channel. They have done a tremendous job of bringing the château to life. You cannot equal one château to the other.
The tonnage lifted should be building some major muscles on everyone. Loving Patrick taking a rest. He must have walked around the world following everyone and their wheelbarrow loads. Pathways crisp and precise. Job well done so far. Someone should be brewing some dandelion wine soon (or at least some delicious salads)

As a mom who works supporting her son in a company he founded, I love to watch Tracy support Terry (and Ash) in bringing his dream to life. Love to see the garden coming together! If I may suggest, for weeds coming up through gravel where you don't want them, spray with horticultural vinegar and let them die over a few days before pulling.

That’s nice that you felt the need to reassure that no one was ‘making’ Tracey do anything. It has never appeared to me to be the case. As you said, everyone does what they can, based on their skill set and as time goes by you are all settling into grooves a ls to who will do what. It’s always been clear to me this is a team who are all invested. Well done.

What an amazing transformation that garden is going through! LOTS of work, but so very satisfying for you all. I know it is, because we are experiencing the same perpetual renovating on a MUCH smaller scale. Kudos to you all!

you might want to look at renting, buying, or borrowing a motorized wheel barrel. They are about the size of a regular wheel barrel, but the bucket is much bigger, and you can move much heavier loads. It would be great for the gravel as well as the plants and soil you'll be working on in the future.
Dan, another Château restorer, uses one at his Château for a lot of his work.

They are great but they cost almost 3000 Euro.
Tracy, you can kill the smaller weeds with a mixture of 1 Gallon Vinegar, 1 cup of salt and 2 tsp of blue Dawn dish soap. Spray with a pump sprayer. Works very well. Be careful around your good plants. You can always put an open box over the good plants and spray around.
Two suggestions for weeding rocky areas (that we have used successfully), burn the weeds off with a torch, or, spray a strong vinegar with water solution on the weeds. So much easier than handpicking weeds successfully (actually pulling the roots also).

The wall behind Ash when the vlog was about 1 minute in looked like it had 3 or 4 arch shaped discoloration in it. Had it been arched at one time and filled in? On another note, your viewers are in constant awe and amazement of your many talents. It's been mentioned before, but Ash, your narrations are nothing short of a professional story teller or narrator. Your enthusiasm for the work or seeing Terry's vision coming to life, a sponsored products abilities, whatever is fantastic. It dies not come across at all that Tracy is made to go anything. I love seeing Tracy working- it is inspirational and motivating. I am a 50 year old woman that gets stuck in to building and repairs and maintenance. I always have and Tracy and the other strong beautiful women you show in your vlogs inspire me to keep going.
