The Suzuki Hayabusa is quite simply the Ultimate Sportbike. Twist the throttle and it responds with awesome acceleration and crisp throttle response in every gear with an unbelievable top-end charge. Thanks to a lightweight and rigid twin-spar aluminum frame and state-of-the-art suspension, that performance is matched by equally impressive handling, providing exceptional control in tight corners, reassuring stability in sweeping turns and a smooth ride on the highway.
If you're a big film buff, then you'll remember the Hayabusa making its debut in Dhoom and has been one of the most popular bikes in India. This is Suzuki's flagship bike and is massive in terms of dimensions. The twin headlamps on the Hayabusa are vertically stacked and this is how you instantly recognize that it's the big bike. The motorcycle features a new ABS system and Brembo Monobloc front brake calipers. Up front, there are four analog meters for speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and water temperature with an S-DMS mode indicator, gear position indicator and an adjustable engine-rpm indicator. Suzuki's Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) system helps to choose between one of three engine control maps. Powering the beast is a four-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC 1300cc engine that churns out 197bhp.
Hayabusa came into existence long back and ever since it has been a constant favourite among bike enthusiasts. The flag bearer from Suzuki motorcycles was introduced in India sometime towards the end of 2007 and has been receiving regular upgrades in alignment with rivals as well as the global model. Dimensionally, the bike measures 2190mm long, 735mm wide and 1165mm high. Wheelbase and ground clearance stand at 1480mm and 120mm respectively, whereas the seat height is around 805mm. Weighing heavy, Hayabusa has a curb mass of 266kg which rests on 120/70ZR17M/C front and 190/50ZR17M/C rear tyres. For power generation, Suzuki has employed a four-stroke, 4 cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC powertrain displacing 1340cc. The high capacity engine is good for pinnacle power of 197bhp at 9500rpm. A six-speed constant mesh transmission is mated to the fuel-injected engine. Although, on the economy ground, the engine does not yield anything concrete, hence making it a heavy on pocket two-wheeler. The selector employed on the bike enables toggling between the three engine control maps provided on the bike. The bike gets dual disc brakes for retarding power along with Brembo Monobloc front brake calipers and anti-lock-braking system that adds further force to the braking action. Suspension duties are handled by inverted telescopic coil spring oil damped forks upfront and coil spring oil damped absorbers at rear.

I owned a 2006 Busa and the only problem I had with it was me. I totaled it twice and rebuilt it twice. I worked in a motorcycle shop. This is a great video for depicting life and driving overseas. I currently live in the Philippines and driving is worse here then any other country that I have been.

That looks wild man! Riding there looks really stressful. The traffic here in western Canada isn't anything close to that. Granted, a 'busa is considered a light bike here. We have motorbikes up to 500kg maybe 600kg. Very few riders are on anything less than 600cc.

I’ve done over a quarter of a million klms on Hayabusa’s and if anyone thinks they are hard to ride in traffic I say they should stick to small bikes until they get some experience. I go through gaps that riders on small bikes hesitate on and if they get really tight I just fold in the mirrors. I’ve done 6000 klms on my new Gen 3 in 6 mths and it’s even better than the Gen 2.

For riding stop and go, you should Get an adjustable fan switch or one that’s wired up to come on at a lower temperature so the fan comes on sooner and you don’t have to shut your bike off all the time.

Buddy, what are you saying ? The Busa gets heated up ? Really ? I've been owning a Busa for sometime now. Busa is one of the superbikes which gets heated really slow on the city or highway..The heat comes in only if the temperature is really hot and you're stuck in heavy traffic.. either there is some issue with the bike you're riding man if its getting heated up fast. Ask any Busa owner on this.

Hayabusa is 20 mile commuter, weekend outing, and occasional joyride or trip to get milk. Anything else just no. If you are in stationary traffic for more than 10 minutes. Buy a scooter you dafy.
