could be cool to introduce gravity as a consideration. a gene will have another parameter from 0 to 1. when it is low, the cell is stronger and can support more weight but produces less energy. when its high, the cell will produce more energy but be weaker and support less weight
This is a kind of cellular automaton, but with certain rules that are very dynamic (the genome idea). Fascinating! It would be possible to extend this to triangular or hexagonal world grids.
love this one. Also you may want to add an offshoot variant that does not mutate, in addition to falling as soon as its formed. This would allow for locomotion!

Just found this channel and am absolutely fascinated by your ideas. The genome concept you've employed is absolutely brilliant. Definitely inspires me to try out a bunch of similar concepts! Sure you can. The project has already been repeated by many, since I made the first video in Russian. I even met a 3D version and an NFT version. And if you indicate where you got the idea from, my gratitude will know no bounds :) ua-cam.com/video/b61gr8GdIFI/v-deo.html
instead of 4 numbers for absolute left right top and bottom of a cell, why not just three numbers, relative left, right and forwards; where backwards or missing number is the cell it was spawned from. with less numbers mutation / evolution will be faster no?
Please continue the series, it is unbeliavable how small your channel is with such an awesome content
Thanks for the feedback.

It is so amazing how programming allows us to visualize and simulate things so creatively!
Wow, this is amazing! I've seen so many evolution videos on animals, but plants are just as interesting.
The idea of stale offshoots becoming seeds is brilliant imo :) inspiring work keep up the videos
Really interesting! Your explanation are very clear. This is high quality content!
I'm happy that foo52 expands to English audience
This has got to be one of the coolest executions of this concept i have ever seen
I am absolutely enthralled with this content. please continue

What a clean and clear presentation! Great content!
i would love to see predator prey evolution :)

Found you from your first video. This is incredible! Now you've inspired me to code up some little evolving, digital organisms :)

That's right. That's what happened in "Battle of Clans". That project uses a similar growth algorithm
Sorry but how does it decide what number will be attached to its new offshoot
This is amazing can share code???
what does this have to do with wallcraft?
Is it official translation?
Да
cool

Oh wow, This is quite intresting?
Interesting
give me the link pls
Where is the link to the original?
Nvm, all is fine.
Maybe try a mobius strip instead of a circle?
interesting idea
That's pretty cool! How does the evolution work exactly? Do all seeds get a random value changed or is an entire genome changed?
All seeds have a genome, like the tree that spawned them.
With a probability of 1/4, only one number in the genome changes during a mutation
This looks a lot like a fractal algorithm.
