And this is a perfect example why I’d NEVER donate anything worth money to a charity shop, it’s just as likely to end up in a bag like this rather than sold for what it’s actually worth because they can’t be arsed to do a little research. Great find though and I’m really glad you saved it from being taken apart to be used in crafts.
I work in an upscale thrift store and we go out of our way to vet items of value for our store while still giving a very good value for our customers. If you have something of value to donate and let the receivers know it can help keep things from being undervalued.
Lorus is a decent watch. From the 70s. If you watch the original Wall Street movie Charlie sheen’s character wears a Lorus before he makes it big and upgrades to a Cartier.
Wow that is an amazing fine every time I go to one of those places they never have nothing I guess you really got to get lucky enjoy it’s beautiful where it in good health
Congratulations, Believe it or not i bought a Autavia Heuer ref 2446, dubbed "Jochen Rindt" from a thrift store for 10 dollars. And get this, it was all original and in perfect working condition, dont have the og bracelet sadly.
The amount of vintage omega watches being found in thrift stores appearing on UA-cam lately is either planet alignment type fortune or something else 🫠
Wish I could luck out with an omega. I did score a barely running 50s Swiss techno’s alarm watch for $4. Very rare and neat. $100 serviced runs and looks new. Can’t really find a value on it as one just like it doesn’t exist online but a similarish one I saw went for around $400.
Perhaps considering your good fortune on two occasions in finding valuable watches that you purchased for very little you should share part of your profit back to the “Goodwill “ store, so that it can benefit other people less lucky!
I didn't know there were so many garbage watch brands. Why would anyone buy them, and why hold onto them? Think about how much all those junk watches cost. That amount could have also been used to purchase one really nice watch.
