I like the idea of bringing dlo back - add some years and do 10-12m per year. Happy with him or Austin coming off the bench to split them up in the starters, get a larger 2/3 as best you can
Look at wat happened when Austin off the bench? No way.
So wait i just realized, if the lakers want to trade for a third star and hopefully use D Lo's salary then that means they wouldnt have 3 picks they would have 2 and the other one would be a player by then so to me if they want a 3rd star it has to be a pre draft or draft night trade to include all 3 picks ( the 17th pick would be selected by LAL but it would be told who to pick by said team trading for pick ) so i wonder what they do here it kinda means we have to disregard D'los salary in any 3rd star trades

Lets be honest if dlo dont pick that option lakers will have to trade rui or austin or maybe both and they will have a bad roster
The only way to a competent roster is if you get dlo to trade plus gabe vincent for like a dejounta murray and keep your depth pieces

Would be a creative idea for Lakers to trade their unprotected 2029 and/or 2031 to a team like OKC who has more picks than they can really use over the next 3 years. Let them consolidate 3-5 less value able 1st and 2nd round picks for the more valuable Lakers ones. In turn the Lakers have more appealing packages to offer because most GMs don’t have 7 years of job security to wait for those Lakers picks
1) Coach JJ 2} Lebron will be a Laker for the rest of his career. If he can stay healthy, who knows how long. 3) DeLo. Who's being petty? If Vincent played all last year, DeLo would have been the scorer off the bench. New coach will decide the fate of Russell. Coach JJ will love 3-pt shooters in his offense. 4) AR is a white guy who can play. Not going anywhere. Coach JJ will make him a star. Lakers need shooters that can make the corner three. 5) How much value does a 2029 or 2031 really have. Get what you can.
Austin should try and gain about 10 to 12 lbs of lean muscle

Why oh why would DLo be a priority for Orlando or San Antonio ? Yes he can put up points in low pressure situations but he tends to pout when he doesn't get his way.

We gonna act like DLO ain't averaging ONLY 1 AST better than Reaves + only 4 AST in the PLAYOFFS
NBA teams need to be built around there star players. stylistically/teams identity has to reflect your superstars. In Lakers case we need to prioritize defense because AD is a proven best defender in the league. LeBron can still control a game well enough and if you have a Reaves on your team, along with a couple 2 ways player, you will have plenty offense to win a game especially with a supercharged defense.

Then we get Harris from Orlando and hopefully get Mitchell for AR/RUI/gab n 3 1st re picks. Then we have a much better starting 5 plus Christie, Prince, Vando n woods as bench. With a good coach n staff, We're good

They need three players -
Like Dejounte Murray, Alex
Caruso, and Clint Capela.
Rui hachimura and austin reaves are irreplacable as role player
Specially ruis skillset is just not really replacable currently so any trade you want you better persuade dlo to pick option and trade him plus gabe plus jalenhood plus 3 firsts for any player you want but keep austin and rui or we are no gonna have balanced roster

Let DLO walk. Go get Jonas V and play Max Christie. You still have Gabe V and bring back Spencer D. You are better defensively with Vanderbilt back as also.

What do you need Jonas for? 10 playoff minutes off the bench? We either need to upgrade Rui or D'lo in the starting lineup, not AD. He shot 30% on 1.5 3PA per game ( 1 3 point attempted in 4 playoffs game), he's unplayable next to AD.
It's a pass. In ideal scenario we need a strong stretch four with strong wing defense, not a non-shooting anchor big for full MLE.
If you wanna play a big next to AD, he needs to have a Myles Turner/Naz Reid/PJ Washington/Bobby Portis skillset. And rebound better than Rui.
My preference for the Lakers lineup. Thoughts on this, @JovanBuha
Starters:
PG - Caruso (defends opponent’s best guard, 3&D, hustle)
SG - Reaves (takes on easier guard matchup, can focus more on offense and facilitate)
SF - Vando (defends best opposing wing, hustle, rebound, dunker’s spot, occasionally hit corner 3)
PF - Bron (do bron things, takes on less mobile forwards, more on post guys or those that can’t shoot)
C - AD (primary option on offense, defensive anchor)
Bench:
PG - Dinwidde (needs to be more assertive like in Dallas, be the team’s 6th man)
SG - Max Christie (3&D, athletic scorer but can also shoot pull ups)
SF - Prince (somewhat 3&D)
PF - Wood (scorer pick and pop threat, low post threat, rebound, block shots)
C - Clint Capela (lob threat, take on bulk center match ups, rebounds, defends and block shots
Back ups:
Lonnie Walker (can be a microwave scorer if prince or christie don’t make shots)
James Wiseman (project but has shown potential this season)
Keita Bates Diop (lanky, better version of cam reddish less defense but better offense)
JHS (3rd stringer guard)
Max Lewis (potential 3&D)
I’m trading for Caruso and Capela in this roster build.
Gabe + 1st for Caruso
Rui + Hayes + 1st for Capela
Sign Lonnie, Wiseman and Kates Diop for vet minimum. Give prince around $6m, dinwiddie around 3-5m, max at 5-6m
Terrible squad. Really bad playmaking with Caruso and horrible spacing with Vando/AD pairing. No shot creation whatsoever. I don't know if that's even a play-in team. I'd say rather #11-12 than 7-8 in the West.
"Rui + Hayes + 1st for Capela" - man, seriously, what is that? Why do you give up a starter (who was shooting well in RS and was big enough to punish small defenders on cuts) for a center that won't play more than 15mpg and is unplayable next to AD? You get that for vet min. Capela has a 22$ mil contract.
Nobody will give you Caruso for Gabe after this season. One FRP is not enough.
Do you even look up players before you name them? How on Earth is Keita Bates-Diop "better offense"? He sucks on offense and is a terrible shooter. And he's under contract for 2.6 mil$ in 2024-2025 with Brooklyn. How do you sign him?Wiseman? Dear lord. What potential? 33 consecutive losses potential? They played him because he is bad.
I been thinking the same thing with going for Capela. That’s the perfect backup for AD and could def run them together and the rim protection and rebounding would be best in the NBA
@@sweeptheleg3097 Bro, you need a shooting big next to AD, not a rim runner. Capela is not a wing defender and couldn't guard bigs like Jokic or Embiid.
