Phenomenal. As a Lakers fan, this is the best offseason primer that I have ever read. Clears up everything. Eric Pincus is the truth. He actually reports and provides information instead of rehashing rumors like so many internet "journalists" do.

Monk, KCP, Gary Trent, Keli Ubre, Caruso, Brogdan, Dorian Finey-Smith, etc. These are bigs, Valanciunas, Dwight, Drumond etc.
3 point shooters, and ball handlers, we have veteran minimum very good players as stated, mid level contracts, free agents and picks.

Big body to check if Lakers can grab is Mark Williams from CHA. Pretty good efficiency for the time he does get on the floor at $4m salary right now.

Lakers should draft Edey if he is available at 17th. He is a sure thing at that pick. Stop drafting for potential and raw players, because they would not have any oppurtunity in the Lakers.
If we can keep LeBron DLo and Max and add a Big (Jonas Valančiūnas maybe) it will be a successful off-season.
When is the deadline for DLo to make his contract decision?

Try to get Mitchell or Murray. If not , try to trade for Caruso and with Nets for Finney-Smith. Upgrade depth. Sign Olynyk with exception. I hope that's possible and not out of realms.

wait so basically the lakers would have to have agreed to a trade with another team by the end of draft night to use 3 picks since the 24 pick would otherwise be used already and be the rights to a player that said team may or may not want if they did not tell the lakers who to select.

What about the center position?
We could've touched on that position more. They can use the non-taxpayer mid-level exception (about $12.9 million) on a center if DLo walks or the taxpayer mid-level exception (about $5.2 million) if they let Prince/Christie walk. Otherwise, they're looking at another minimum center signing barring a trade.
1) Trade AR + Vincent & 2 unprotected picks for Dejounte. 2) Trade Rui & a pick for Finney Smith. 3) Trade DLo for Caris Levert. Use the taxpayer MLE to sign Valanciunas. Re-sign Dinwiddie & Max. Done.
Dejounte/LBJ/Finney Smith/AD/Valanciunas/Vando/Levert/Dinwiddie/Wood/Max C./Hayes/JHS/Bronny?/2nd rd pick = $183 million. 15th roster spot left open for flexibility & about $6M away from the 2nd apron. Done.
Would prefer to have prince back but restrictions may not allow it but this works. I think rui for dfs would be 2nd rounders tho as I think both have the same value + rui makes more
Can you do all of this without triggering the second apron hardcap?
I hope Cam Reddish opts in and stays with LA, JJ won't start him like Darvin did, He is a good role player and JJ will get his best out of him.

Eric keeps saying if DLo opts in blah blah blah. I just don't see DLo helping the Lakers by opting in. Unless the Lakers willing to give DLo tons of cash or long term, DLo probably will opt out.
Then D'Lo runs the risk of losing out on guaranteed money, like Schroeder did a few years ago. It's called fumbling the bag or something blah blah blah
@@LakerGang2001 If DLo had 2+ years he shouldn't take that risk, but it is only one year guaranteed money. Most players would take that risk. Schroeder was diifferent. Lakers gave Schroeder 84 mil long term contact extension though Schroeder said no. You give DLo that 84 mil long term contact extension, he would definitely stay. Though most if not all LakersNation would say no to DLo 84 mil long term contact extension.
If DLo opts in…..it’s an expiring, tradable contract.
