Why do we act like Bron isn’t retiring in 2 years? Going the 3 star route and adding a star like Mitchell allows us to do two things at once. Swing for the fences and try to go all in for a chip right now before Bron retires, and then gives you your core of AD and Spida for the next 5+ years.

No tradable assets tho if 2029 and 2031 are gone. They need to wait (I forgot how long) for 2033 to be available. I know they have picks that can be traded only on draft night (2026, 2028, 2030) due to stepien rule and possible pick swaps.

You are right! We have to use the picks now for a 3rd star bc when LBJ leaves in 2 years we won't have dollar for dollar spending power to get the next guy bc we'll still be over the cap.

Jovan summed it up perfectly: "he's got some shit to him"
Ham was hands in pockets passive, yet know-it-all attitude. Hugging Jokic before pivotal playoff game.
JJ is a self-starter, motivated, active, smart and engaging. Him surrounded by some vet coaches like Van gundy, and retired guys like Rondo, KG...

JJ for coach, and no big changes! Sign demar he freaking wants to be in LA! And retool around AD, Bron, AR, Demar Derozean! Try to keep some form of continuity if possible and use your draft stock to retool and add high quality role players through JJ who literally loves players like that and has an eye for that! He literally has a segment on his show praising the “Alfred’s” in the nba so he knows the importance!

    • @willkluver

Demar and JJ keeps bron happy! 3 star model, and already a free agent so easier to use draft picks for high level role players hand picked by bron and JJ and keep some of our main guys whoever we can! Salary dump gabe Vincent, cam reddish, Christian wood, Jaxson Hayes. And either let Dlo walk or try to work a sign and trade with him and his preferred destination.

On Scrutiny and Pressure: Realisiticly, at least from the point of view from the wider public, do the Assistant coaches get ANY scrutiny? Ive never come across any pundit or analyst even mentioning any Assistant Coach, throughout any part of the season, or pre or post game. The ONLY time an Assistant Coach gets mentioned - negative or positive - is if they are a HC coaching candidate. The ONLY coaching candidates who have this advantage on scrutiny and pressure, are coaches who have had Head Coaching experience. Even then, an argument can be made that it depends on where, and when. As stated on this episode, small markets aren't anywhere near the same.

IF we can get Mitchell I think you have to do it. We would still have decent depth because he's only on a $35 mil contract and we'd have the ability to use the NTP MLE if D'Lo opts out or can trade him if he opts in.
Gabe/Mitchell/Vanderbilt/Lebron/AD with CP3 (if Warriors waive) or Dinwiddie for vet min/Christie (re-signed)/Royce O'Neal or Trent Jr or Tobias or Valanciunas or Taurean + Drummond (split the MLE) for the NTP MLE/Reddish/Wood/Plumlee could perhaps be had for the vet min as his role was reduced w/ the addition of Theis
That's at least a quality 7-8 man playoff rotation with 3-4 extra filler guys for the regular season. More athletic/defensive and playoff proven. With a quality new coach and system I like our chances.

    • @concernedcitizen4171
      @concernedcitizen4171 29 днів тому

John Konchar who we've had interest with in the past might also be a solid vet min signing. We could have decent options to fill out the rest of the roster.

Knobi is selling me on Adelman based on his role as offensive coordinator for Denver. Also this quote from Jokic, on Adelman, hits rigid: “I really think he’s the guy who’s going to be the next head coach because he has that
head for a head coach...He is thinking in front, he knows answers, and he reads and
    reacts.”"
That last part "Read a React", something Darvin was atrocious at, and Vogel wasn't that great at. The other ACs w/o HC exp,I haven't heard/read enough specific qualities to raise them above JJ. Reports on the other ACs has been mostly generic, only offering years as an assistant, with no further info that pertains specifically to them, singling out their individual attributes
Also, Adelman acted as interim HC when Malone missed a few games.
Borrego can't be considered as just an assistant coach, since he has HC and interim exp. Atkinson also had HC exp.
