Do you own a welder like the Multimatic 220 and wish you could run a water cooled torch? Look no further and watch this video about how to make that happen!! Miller decided that the Multimatic 220 didn't need to be compatible with a water cooled torch so they combined the torch and gas like they do the Diversion series. This dinse adapter will convert the 25mm gas/power outlet to a separated gas and power outlet, allowing you to run a standard water cooled torch. In this video, I'm demonstrating the WP-225 (200 Series) torch.

There is a black threaded nut that goes on the front of the ck adapter. I am sure you probably found it by now but that stops the ck adapter from splitting apart when you turn the dinse connector into your machine
Best review on this set up. I’m waiting for my new 220 to arrive from where I bought it. And I’m highly I retested in this set up when I find a cheap used coolmate. Thank you for making this. Very impressive garage and set up by the way. I wished I was your daughter lol.
Thank you! Yeah I was a bit shocked that a water cooled torch wasn't supported because they felt like WE didn't need it lol. It works great and the torch stays cool during the long aluminum runs. Super stoked about it.
@@ArcLightAddicts makes no sense to me. I guess they figure people will fry it from maxing it out. Or it’s not necessary. But it’s nice to have. I think between running water cooled and a helium mix you can weld anything 1/2” or maybe 5/8” just by having the extra duty cycle and heat.
I can't believe all the years Miller has been in business and here they have the millermatic 220 and 200 amp welding machine and it has the small dense 25 connectors on it I have a small chineseium welder and it even has the dense 35 connectors on it my primeweld TIG 225x has the dens 35 connectors on it and I even have the maxcool 3000 TIG torch cooler on it too with a CK worldwide flex lock 230 water cooled torch.
Yeah it's pretty sad to be honest, especially for the price tag.
@@ArcLightAddicts yeah I didn't even think about that my prime weld is a $850 welder and my chineseium one is $340 and like I said it's got the heavy duty 12 mm dens connector
They run the smaller dense because the machine would ne ver need it, bigger did the same if being bigger us just a waste sometimes. Miller was also talking about the duty cycle, if you use the uncooked torch and it's getting to hot, you're running pass the duty cycle. Over running the machine greatly shortens the machines life.
@@beekeeper6109 that's a common knowledge thing if someone doesn't know they are exceeding the duty cycle on the torch then they don't have any business TIG welding.... Lol 😆
Excellent video love the set up! I’m running an older syncrowave 200 and I weld a lot at work and my torch gets hot I want to do this.
I would highly recommend it! It made a huge difference on how long I can go as well as cranking it up to 200amps

I have a multimatic 255 which has 50mm dinse connectors. What adapter do I need to accomplish this with my machine? I can't find a 50mm dinse on the CK Worldwide site. Is the slwhat-35 the correct size I'm looking for?
So what exactly do you need. I’m buying a used coolmate 3 for $40. I know the Dinse connector but which one. And what hoses and what torch is the best way to go? Flex head?
Crazy Miller talks about their products that way. It's obvious you're heavily invested in their brand and it seems that's not enough for them 🤷
I’m not heavily invested in only Miller but Everlast as well. I just didn’t realize how much Miller was holding back until looking at the other brands.
@@ArcLightAddicts I noticed that too, it's like they don't feel they have to change because of the brand name and then you realize all the other technology that's coming out. I've been using Yeswelder for past couple of years and love it. I'm all about getting access to the technology that's current so that learning is meaningful. You start looking at the big brands and it's just way too expensive to start doing stuff that you can do at a few hundred dollars these days.
@@TerrenceLP Yup. Needless to say, I wont be buying another Miller for the type of work I do. Industrial/Commercial use sure, I believe they are better but those are $10k+ machines. For the hobby/automotive industry, I think these machines that range from $1000-2000 are plenty (200-220amp range).
You know I'm watching this video because I was about to pull the trigger on purchasing at 220. But given that Miller flat out fucking lied about their ability to avoid a warranty, I think I'm gonna go with Lincoln.

Oh I thought I responded to you on this. This thing is a beast and works beautifully! I’ve had this cranked up to 210 amps for long sessions and torch is cool 😎

Duty cycle of the machine.
yep the Miller guy was talking about Duty Cycle.....when he said you are overloading the welder... and a Air cooled welder will heat up when you exceed Duty Cycle...letting you know to stop ...and let it cool down....Industrial welders can run 100%...so water cooling is best for them....
I was coming here to say this exact thing, it's amazing how many people either don't know or don't understand duty cycle. The water cooled torch lets you blow pass the duty cycle thus greatly shortening the life of the weld. I know this because I did just that with my first welder I ever had. It's why you don't put a 30amp fuse in a 15 amp circuit, your just overloading it. He also didn't reduce the gas flow, the water line run along the conductor into the head of the dinse contector, not into the actual connection into the machine. All the water is running through the cool mate, only the tig torch is water cooled and not the machine. You really need to have a water cooled machine or a machine that has the duty cycle to handle a water cooled torch.
