Higher gear ratio reel will help you out with the buzz bait, you have to keep them moving fast. You can put a buzz toad or a shad bait on the back too. Great hits for sure.
Saw you use this combo with Andy in your challenge recently so ordered the buzz bait from the states and paired it with the same trailer. It turned up Thursday and hopefully I’ll get on the river Sunday evening to give it a go. After watching this vid I can’t wait to get it wet.
Am just looking at the buzz toads on ebay sure I could take some bits off a spinner to make a similar setup. And maybe a small polymer ball on the wire to allow a slower retrieve? Awesome vid as always 👌

Dan, great vid as usual - as you say, another 'tool' to your armoury. Having spent the last few weeks struggling on the Upper River Lea, might look to invest in these. Tell me, did you fish it 'on the top' due to the weed? - or can you fish them deeper / slower?
I have one like that, except it has a little metal tab underneath the spinner that it hits and make a very loud noise! You may want to try pausing the lure when you get a follow and let it fall. Drives Pike crazy when it pauses like that.
I got one in the lure box, confidence up now so will be trying the buzz bait this weekend. 14acres of very tough water so im sure that will put it to the ultimate test. Is it always a fast retrieve Dan?

Do you got bass in the UK? In Canada our bass is pike
Try using a stinger , you will get better hook up rate
