Awesome video, If you are replacing the Union, I highly recommend you take out the filter and lay it in the same position in the video I was not able to do this while the filter was vertical, I had to lay it horizontally to feed the c clamp in.
Thanks for the video helped me tremendously after one of the union nuts broke and c clip as well. I didn't know how everything went back together but thru this video I was able to fix everything with new parts.
Old comment...but there are not many videos on this, so for anybody else that may be wondering how to get the old c clip out.... The trick is to first push the union nut back towards the filter housing so that there is more room to work. Then take a smaller flathead screw driver and use it to spin the c clip until you find the gap...you may want to spin the union nut around a bit too, as that may help spin the c clip. From there, use the flathead screw driver to try to gently pry out just the very end of one end of the c clip, just enough to where you can clamp down on the end of it with a needle nose plyers (don't force anything). Once you got a good enough hold on it with the plyers, you should be able to continue to gently spin it until it corkscrews itself the rest of the way out. Essentially, it comes out in exactly the reverse of how the video shows it going in. The trick is to get that one end out just enough to where you can grab hold of it with the needle nose plyers...and, if you have a good grip on it, it should just be a matter of slowly and gently spinning it until it feeds itself the rest of the way out. Also, once it's out, pay attention to which side of the c clip was facing the filter housing...pretty sure there is a 'front facing' and 'rear facing' side. Remember which side is which so that you don't have it facing the wrong way when you go to put the new one back in.
that the reason this is a piece of crap, something that handle pressure and you want to tide strong, this piece of crap don't let you do it and leak everywhere, tray to don't buy this crap.

how do I tie the two union fittings together, would one PVC be a smaller size and do I need to add cement?
