Car manufacturers say they can’t get a constant supply of parts. Simple, make bloody cars that don’t need half of them. There’s a massive market waiting for it
Regarding Kia/Hyundai; sure, really love their designs although less enthusiastic over the latest boxy cars, but that is a minor gripe, the real issue is BATTERY TECHNOLOGY! The batteries used in Kia/Hyundai are the same as in Jaguar and other cars that have been plagued by recalls and fire issues, it's up to 25% in Jaguar and Kia/Hyundai and even worse in the case of Chevy Bolt that used the same battery technology with recalls and replacement in up to 33% of their cars. Secondly, the software, do they allow for smart navigation and automated preheating WITH charging automatically planned or do you have to calculate manually or change navigation manually from the desired end destination to where do I find charging? In a Tesla, the car will AUTOMATICALLY recommend charging along the route AND preheat the battery for optimum charging without any manual interaction. In most other cars you have to calculate charging manually or have an app on your phone to do that and that isn't a very smart or safe way to fumble with your phone while driving.

A gasoline car can go from CT to OH with the AC on in 12 hours. Stay in OH for 2 minutes then drive back to CT in 12 hours with the AC on. Can an electric car do that?
@@chrisdonna1773 A valid point. However, the issue is if people need to be someplace within a certain time. One can drive while the other rests, and they take turns driving.
