Once you get to a town there's a dude who says, "Help! I lost my wallet in that cave over there." So, you take a break and get the guy's wallet. When you come out there's a woman who says, "If you help me find my cat, I'll give you some mead." So off you go. Before you find the cat, you run into a sad bear who says, "*Sob!* Some bullies stole my honey." Since you have a heart that burns with the flame of justice you run off to help the bear. Until you find the giant who needs help because he's wheel broke, and he needs you to go into a ruin to get a special wood 4 him. On the way you get lost and end up completing 9 caves. Which took longer than if you went back to the giant and started your track again. In the end you never went back to the main quest or turned in the side quest you finished.

So there was a study where they left people alone in a room with nothing in it except for a button that gave them a painful electric shock. A little over half the people got bored enough they zapped themselves at least once. One outlier did it something like 67 times. I feel like Laughing Simon might be that outlier

It wouldn't be so painful if he would stop serpentining across roads and stopping all the time. I guess the slow walk speed of Skryim NPCs just isn't slow enough for him.
@@TheLaughingSimon Even better then. I don't really figure Skyrim was built to constantly recalculate large-scale pathfinding like that. Most NPCs who need to path that far do it on a set schedule.
+1 for a Laughing Simon companion to badger me all across Skyrim to stop in at every tavern, get quests done, and get upset when I inevitably forget / get bored with the current quest because I got distracted by a cave.
That explains why Lydia always sounds so exasperated with us. We were just given some super important quest to delve deep into an ancient Nord tomb, but instead we decide to "Deliver 10 iron ingots to Rorikstead."

You could pick up Bran the husky from the Dawnguard as a companion regular... an emotional support doggo for the chaos you put yourself through for our entertainment. If the scale of how hilarious (which is a lot btw) I found this vid is any correlation then I fear for your sanity in your future adventures with Stevie the Dragonborn. 😂Ty for the laughs.

if the NPC uses an AI package to go places, you can change the preferred speed in the creation kit to running, if im not mistaken could always console them and setav their speed mad high, too.

So it may not work in your particular scenario, but in most cases "Npc's walk and run at your pace" works to make NPCs jog

Using the set scale command on him wouldve made him move faster even if he is only 1.25 scale or 25% bigger
