What a terrific challenge for me. Anita, you are an inspiration to me. Since my husband passed 2 years ago I have doubled down on sewing. It has been very healing for me. But having sewn along with you has lifted my spirits 10 fold. I continue to pray for you.
Dolores Burrell Ooohhh, Dolores, I understand exactly how you feel about sewing right now. Sewing helps me so much. I’m very happy to have you here with me and I pray for you too, sister. 🙏🏽
@@yahushaisthemessiah I was just wondering this morning, the correct pronunciation of His full name! Thank you truly. God bless both you ladies. Yahusha HaMashiach! Jesus is Lord and Savior of the world!
Thank you, I did not find the like button but I subscribed. I am so glad I found your blog. I will be doing lots of reading and watching your videos. And I do LIKE very much.
So thankful that you're back, I've been prayerfully awaiting your return. Have shied away from sewing knits but after viewing this video I'm purchasing my pattern tomorrow and am going to make the tunic. Your video is inspiring and I feel confident that I will not produce a lopsided fiasco of a tunic. LOL. Thank you, you are an inspiration and an overcomer girded up through the love of Almighty God.
Tinarobb8 Ooohhh, thank you so much for your support. Yes, you can do it. Just practice for as long as you need before starting your project. I’m really happy to be back and can’t wait to record the next sew-along. I already have the project picked out. Have fun sewing your sweater.
Anita - I am so inspired by your tenacity and your unwillingness to allow your circumstances to stand in your way from accomplishing what you love. I am so excited for you and can't wait to sew this sweater! Great for you!
Anita, you are absolutely, hands down the best UA-cam sewing instructor!!!! You explain everything. When you come up on a difficult area (sewing over the hump) you don't ignore it, you address it. It's those little bits that elevate our sewing skills. The tip about placing the interfacing on the hem, PRICELESS! Now I know how to avoid my wavy hem when I sew my next knit project. So glad to have you back! And you did a wonderful job recording alone! May God continue to bless and keep you!
Welcome back Anita, I have had you on my mind lately. I was in my quiet time the other morning and thought about you. Thank you for doing this and you did a wonderful job. You always have been very professional in your content and the legacy lives on! Blessings, Jorja Price
I am sooooooo excited. I’m a beginner “me maker” and I am having so much fun and so far have only sewed for myself. My teenager has asked that I make this tunic for her and what perfect timing. Thank you thank you!!! I love watching your “love” come through your teachings. Also, I love sewing with stretch knit.
I just LOVE this sweater! It looks easy to do and would be perfect in anyone's closet. You are loved by all here and are watched over by your hubby, he is like ' babe, you got this! And you have mad UA-cam skills '
The way you carefully explain the small steps that make all the difference is exactly what I was looking for. Going to tackle my first sweater knit this week!
WOW!! What a challenge. And you have a great gift of teaching, patience, detail and perseverance! I love watching your channel. It feels like your are right here in my sewing room with me. Thank you so much!!! God bless you.
Welcome back Anita. Love your sew-a-long, have been using knits for same time now, however you still learn something new all the time. Look forward to other sew- a-longs. Susan Peach England
You are a truly beautiful woman and so talented with your sewing skills and your generosity in sharing them. You obviously have a great eye for style because your fabric choices create the most beautiful garments. This is something I find difficult and is a giveaway for a handmade garment. I’m so happy to have found your channel and feel inspired to keep sewing.
You did an awesome job. I’m so proud of you for persevering. You’re an amazing woman full of the loving spirit of God. I’m so happy your back. I’m here to support you and I await with great anticipation of what you’ll share with us next. Keep up the good work. Blessings my sister.
Wow, thank you so much for that 'measuring tip'. I had no idea. I've always wondered why my sweaters 'grow' and loose their shape after sewing. I also didn't know that I need to use a zig zag stitch with sweaters. So grateful Anita for your teaching me that.
Thank you so much for providing this to us. I found the same knit on clearance and in several colors. You always make it so easy and I appreciate your thoughtfulness. God bless you beautiful lady.
Ms. Anita, it is so nice to see you "back". You did great on your "first" video. I can picture your dear hubby beaming with pride. Your journey and triumph has been an inspiration and an incredible example of what it means to completely trust in the Lord. Thank you for all the wonderful knowledge you have shared, I learned so much in this tutorial. Keep them coming! :)
My dear Anita, I am so glad you are back. You are an inspiration. So sorry to hear about your beloved husband. May he rest in peace and rise in glory. Amen.

Thank you for your wonderful tutorial! I can always learn something new and very useful even though I have been sewing for decades! I have made two tunics with this pattern and now I have new ways to sew with knits, thanks to you! It’s a nice versatile pattern.

Congratulations on your sew-along. Nice job. I recently made a sweater knit jacket that I was not pleased with. I never thought to use a walking foot. Next time I'll use your tips for a better result.
Hi Anita! Welcome back, so glad to see you! I was looking at this pattern a few days ago, and decided not to try it. Today, I see your sew-along on just what I was afraid to try. I may go ahead and try it now, thanks to you sharing your how-to and tips. Your sweater looks great on you!
Francine Thank you. I’m so glad you saw this video. I definitely recommend giving it a try. Even if you mess up, you will have learned something new. Then you try again.
Very interesting video. I love your sweater. It looks great on you. It is fun to see how methods for sewing knits, are so different. I used quilt bat fuse - cut into narrow strips to put in place of the elastic. It secures the knit in place and prevents stretch in that area where I don't want any stretch at al, because as you wear the sweater the shoulders can start to sag. I never press sweater knit fabrics because it flattens the stitch definition and fluffiness of the the knit fabric, the only exception being my card method of hem marking . I always insert my neck before adding the sleeves to prevent drag and pull on the garment and generally having to deal with all that bulk, while inserting the neck- which is the most difficult part of the project. I cut a piece of card the width of the hem I want to create and before I sew the side seams I use it as a guide and press the fabric up over it on the wrong side, of what will be the inside of the garment. This way I can protect the front side of the knit from the pressing and squashing the knit. I never use steam for the same reason. Next, I do the same, making the hem press marks with card for the sleeves - then I sew the side seams. It is easier getting the hems positioned in place right when they are still flat. I use a wide double needle for knit fabrics and a long stitch length of 3 or 3.5 to prevent stretching and pulling, and sew the hems up, making a nice stitch finish on the front hem and sleeve hems. Finished. Looking forward to more of your videos.
These are GREAT tips! Thank you so much for sharing. Yeah, I know some people don't press sweater knits. I've always pressed mine and haven't had any issues. But, yes, I hear you on the issue off flattening the fluffiness. Just haven't experienced that yet. I think if I were to use a specialty knit or something with a high loft, then maybe I would consider not pressing. But I would test it first to see if pressing would harm the fabric. Yes, we're all quite different in our sewing techniques. That's one of the things I love about sewing and learning from others.
This is a great video. I enjoyed how thorough it is. The stretch guide on the pattern always confused me. Thank you for showing how that guide is meant to be used.
