I totally relate to you!! I've been learning Chinese for about a year and a half and I already feel my "newbie motivation" slowly dying hahah. don't worry about it too much. be disciplined, push yourself but also don't neglect your rest time:)) good luck!
Thanks for the words of encouragement, good to know I'm not the only one feeling this, just gotta keep the journey enjoyable and keep moving forward little by little! Good luck!
Really appreciate your channel
Really appreciate YOU, thank you!!✌️

您好 hardwin!!
Do you ever lose motivation when language learning? How do you keep the process fun?
Relieved to know there's another Canadian nerding out about camping gear while trying to learn Mandarin Chinese! Losing motivation has been my daily struggle since starting full-time work. It's so common now, and comes in waves. I only get a few hours after getting home to do anything, and oftentimes studying Mandarin gets dropped. The interest is lost, but it's never gone. I need structure, so I've thought about taking online courses or following Mandarin lectures like you've suggested.
When I'm not doing that, I'm scrolling around on Google Maps looking at Taiwan and all the cool temples, landscapes and areas to explore. All my passion comes right back! Especially all the outdoor activities. Hiking in the mountains will be top of the list once I hopefully visit Taiwan in the next couple years for an extended period. Those thoughts make the process fun for me.
Really enjoying your content Dan, keep it coming! 加油!!!
@@thekingdomscribe5432 Thank you for sharing, great to know there are other Canadians nerding out about camping gear for sure haha! You'll love the mountains here once you get here, hiking and camping here has been a dream. Thanks for the support, 加油!
That's so true! The more we blame ourselves for not knowing this and that in a language, the more depressed/stressed we are and we lose the interest...Enjoy just the process and set up reasonable goals 😉
soooo true Ms Lin, I have to keep reminding myself to not worry too much about high and lofty expectations and goals, just enjoy the process!
I recognise the problem of not keeping up when the schedule is too full or unfullfilling. Also I really like the image of reaching the goal as taking off the backpack... This is so true. Language learning for me is a hobby, so I have no good tips for that. For scheduling and discipline I realised that it is good to have balance between playfulness and rules. Maybe you can get creative and write some Chinese poetry or lyrics. Or do a camping weekend as a Chinese learning excursion? 🤔😂
haha these are great suggestions, my friend Tom likes to do Chinese rap songs, maybe I should try my hand at it too!
@@thedanyopang oh cool! I am very curious for that haha.
