Wow. Interesting take. I actually love them. I think it compliments nicely and is my favorite thing about this EP! Not a lot of bluesy type solos in deathcore
@@game_overture8188 It's fine that we disagree, taste is subjective after all. I don't know why you bring up blues but whatever. This music is harsh, cold, ugly, aggressive etc. while the solos are warm and melodramatic even, like belonging to a power ballad. For me it doesn't work at all. It's not uncommon to shift tone is some ways with the solos, but if your songs are like they are here you could go e.g. slow and eerie which still would fit the overall tone.
@@bring-out That's exactly why I personally love it, it's an underrated contrast. It's a touch of optimism in a cold dark world, the "warm" guitars feel like they're saying that there's still some beauty left to be found here despite all the pain
@@Lorisucu Fair enough, except it's not an "underrated" (or overrated) contrast since that would imply some objectively good (or bad) quality that most people fail to appreciate properly. It's about taste, nothing more. I can appreciate the contrast you talk about but it has to have far more subtlety and finesse than this. And far from all songs are even suitable to use that contrast at all imo.
I bring up blues because these solos are all minor penatonic with flat 5ths and bluesy techniques instead of the usual technical style solos. More of the type that are prevelant in blues/classic rock/stoner rock
Baal Cycle is 🔥
Coming in hot with that intro track. 🤘🤘
FUCK. @8:14 absolute onslaught
Such incongruous guitar solos, totally clashing with the style of the songs.
