I saw a video where someone used Too Much charcoal or burned it too hot and cracked it immediately and in the comments someone said you're supposed to soak it because it's like ceramic so it preserves it or has a fire retardant aspect to it

The purple one is eggplant. Green one is Okura.

I put my whole grill into a airtight drum with the lid on and snuff the coals very quickly and dry
