You are correct, it was a reception area exactly like that of D deck. Often used to wait for room in the cafe Parisian and the restaurant. They played music there too.

Both offered similar services: shaving, haircutting, and shampooing of hair, and both acted as a souvenir shop. There were three people aboard Titanic who were employed as barbers onboard, Augustus Weikman, a 53-year-old born in Philadelphia, United States, Herbert Klein, an around 33-year-old born in Bradford, United Kingdom and Arthur White, a 37-year-old born in Portsmouth, United Kingdom. Augustus Weikman worked in the first class barber shop, Arthur White probably did too, while Herbert Klein worked in the second class barber shop. All three men were technically not part of the crew and were allowed to keep the money they made from tips and sales.
Something else of interest, cabins A-35 and A-37 were occupied by two notable people. Titanic's chief designer Thomas Andrews was in A-35 while Father Francis Brown (who is responsible for taking many of the photographs of Titanic) stayed in A-37.

Interesting sidenote: the survivors were split- no pun intended- on whether they believed they saw the ship break apart or not. Titanic *not* splitting in half became the prevailing theory despite adamant testimonies from men and women who claimed to have seen it break apart, and those people would not be vindicated until the wreck of the Titanic was discovered in 1985- a full 73 years later. However, one survivor who did not see the ship break apart- Maj. Arthur Godfrey Peuchen in Lifeboat No. 6- found something curious floating in the water, just after dawn on April 15th. Bobbing next to the lifeboat in the water, Peuchen plucked the large item out of the sea, only to discover himself holding the red-and-white striped barber's pole from outside the Titanic's barbershop. The barbershop at the bottom of the aft grand staircase, on C Deck, outside of which this very same barber's pole had been securely attached to the wall. Peuchen immediately came to the conclusion that, for this barber's pole to be here in his hand, the Titanic must've broken apart as she foundered. He was a steadfast believer in the break-up theory despite *not* being one of the survivors to see it. Kudos to Peuchen.
Unironically, the title of this video is somewhat lowkey referencing an actual piece on the wreck. During the break-up a piece of the Titanic formed, namely the Aft Tower; which comprised of the Aft Grand Staircase 🙂

Constructive criticism: I think your fades to black happen much too often and last too long. I would’ve much rather seen more of the model than a black screen. I also think it would’ve been nice if you could’ve gone inside the model a little bit more. It would be cool to see that perspective because you can exist in that 3D space. Maybe you could’ve also included an image of what was photographed at the wreck site. Your model was done very well. I can’t believe you only spent a week on it! No need to apologize!
A critique I have of your video is too many mentions of unrelated things. First thing is everyone knows the titanic story so there is no need to talk about it the sinking, when it sank or that it sank(anyone watching this video knows all that already). Second: the lifeboats and who filled them and manned them are also not related to this story of the staircase. If you want to talk about them do a story on them but don’t mix in unrelated facts. After you get past those parts of the video, your video gets much better and I think editing those part out would make this a much better video-on point and concise

Yes, she did. During the 6 month 1913 refit, along with an extension to the port side of the A La Carte Restaurant. Britannic would've had all of that from the get-go, but the Great War and her sinking in November 1916 prevented her from ever being fully outfitted as an ocean liner.
Also i would suggest not having so rapid clips and cuts between scenes, as it detracts from all the detail put into the model. Give the content time and space to breathe

I didn't realize this staircase was aft of the ship. The 1997 film gave the impression that the location was mid-range of the ship's upper deck or at the very least reasonable near the location of the Bridge, given how the sinking was depicted.
There were two grand staircases. The one depicted in this video is the aft grand staircase. The one featured in the 1997 Titanic movie is the forward grand staircase. The forward staircase had access to the boat deck because that was the first class area. Notice in this video that the staircase does not access the boat deck because it was second class space.

Those boats look so tiny. Looks like only about 25 ppl can fit. Up close they were actually pretty big.
