My folks bought the 2008 model. I get to steal it during these nasty NY winters, and I love it. Wish ford would step up the game with interior quality since the price tag is pretty steep, but that's ford for you. Love the gas mileage and we choose leather which IS a nice quality, but again, I've seen better leather in cheaper cars.
I'm thinking about buying an SUV in 2022 worth close to $7,000. Would it be crazy to like a 2009/2010 Ford Escape Hybrid? is it a good buy or is it risky?
Good buy these days. Just look for rust. The transmissions are giant planetary gears that will outlive the entire car. The batteries are reliable as long as the fans are still working. Cleaning them is a important maintenance item to keep the battery cooled. The 2.5 is more reliable but both are good engines.
The Ford Escape Hybrid Achieves Best Fuel Economy in its class. 425+ miles on a single tank 30+ miles per gallon. Technologically Advanced electronic instrument cluster and Hybrid Drive System. All for just $29,795.
The interior looks cheap and has to many plastic parts. This is why Amercan cars fail the final buy-dont buy test by most people regardless of final cost.

215 Horsepower 5.0 Liter V-8 is awesome.
@tnguyen318 that it is. But the best part is the 288 lb-ft of torque. That thing will get off the line in a hurry when you want it to.
does any one have the escape and recommend it
Yes
@tnguyen318 agreed but it actually makes 215 hp as of 1998 and I believe 205 hp from 1995-1997.
@NixKah thats why ford have now improved the electric motor to 47mph
the welcome of brazil now 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid .
The 1998 Mercury Mountaineer is a good car. 200 Horsepower 5.0 Liter V-8.
@heartlessvietboy did you really just say V-4?
@NixKah That's how almost all hybrids are, and that's where you get the worse mileage, accelerating from 0-25
@tnguyen318 I'll stick with my 1998 Mercury Mountaineer with AWD and a V8 that gets 11 mpg thank you very much.
Pathetic sound quality
wow you guys must be the worst car reviewrs ever!!!!!! gosh howa'd you get the job
