    When a person grows older they grow somewhat set in thier ways. I am 63 years old and I know what calms me. Music at christmas is a beautiful calming and inspirational. Summertime "beach boys" is uplifting and just fun. Walking theough the woods is calming and refreshing as life continuosly adjust to the seasons. You remind me of my "all grown up baby girl named Samantha". Thank you for being a good part of life.

    Also concorde grape vines. Make good jams and wine. They are good antioxidants.

    Also pecan trees. I was out xcountry biking and there were pecans on the road. I pick one up off the road and took it home. I ate ot at a later date. The pecan was good. And also walnut trees. Nuts are healthy for the diets.

    Maybe you might want to consider planting some cherry trees. Just an idea. I planted one(I purchased at Walmart), the were ripe in June. My one tree produced a lot of cherries. They are pretty self sufficient, and peach trees too.

    The Farmer's market is a great thing, lots of work as you say, but so nice. Your teaching your girls valuable life lessons. A side note Erin, when you wear your hair down, it's very pretty.

      It has been really fun, meeting all of these interesting people, and seeing my kids dip their toes into business. I'm excited for round two next year!
      Blushing about the hair compliment. :-)

    The advice you got about undervaluing your work is sound advice! Your time is worth more than you're charging, and unless you're independently wealthy, it's imperative that you price your work and produce accordingly. You owe it to your children to earn more income so you can provide more of what you want to give them. When things are sold too cheaply, people have a way of taking it for granted. Since you're still building and outfitting your home, you owe it to yourself and your children to charge the true value of your work!

      I'm on the lookout for a scale, so I can weigh my produce, so that at least I'll be able to be consistent. I have a hard time charging more because I've always been poor, and I know what it is like to have to go without because you can't justify the expense, and I hate to put anyone in that position. So, instead I put myself in that position!! HA! But it is really wonderful that I have several customers who consistently overpay me, and then we can all feel good about it.

      @@BeautifulUnschoolLife Being poor is a mindset. You're not poor, you're money-challenged, but this will change once you increase your prices.

    I struggle with spinach too. Now I grow Fothergill's Perpetual Spinach, which is actually a type of leaf beet. I also struggle with broccoli, so now I just grow rapini instead. I've found it's too hot for zucchini (they don't produce female flowers in extreme heat), so maybe I'll see if I have better success with cucuzzi. You've inspired me! And thanks for your honesty in these videos -- sometimes I see market gardens on line that are so "perfect" they discourage me.

      No perfect garden here, that's for sure! HAHA! I'll make sure you have cucuzzi next year, you just make sure you have a very strong trellis!!

    Where did you get those freckles? My grandmother had those freckles. I did too. My father called them beauty marks. 😊 Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

    I loved this vlog, I found it so interesting! I've always thought doing a farmer's market could be worth it but definitely alot of work. I'm so glad it's going well for you! I loved how excited you were about your Armenian cucumber. 🥰

      Harvest day is a lot of work, for sure. As I got my routine down, it was a bit easier. And I'll organize the garden differently next year, based on what I've learned. I'm excited for the challenge of upping my game in year two!

    Impressive work. I had to laugh at you giving yourself a break and then listing all you still had to do. I do the same thing so I totally understand.

    Thanks for the video. Single mom unschooling my daughter. How much do you pay for the stall?

    • @BeautifulUnschoolLife
      @BeautifulUnschoolLife  21 день тому

      I pay for the whole summer, and it comes to only about $10/week for a 10/10 spot. Not bad at all!
