Ellen I know sometimes it may sound strange, but people will lash out just because of your light. If you seem happy, especially with your life and what you do, and they are not, they will try to diminish your light. Sometimes it's just that simple. You don't giggle too much, and I didn't think you ever rambled. There is a way to fast forward videos lol so if they just wanted to get to the soap making they can just get to that. You have to put your best foot forward always, but you also have to be comfortable and happy. Don't try to please us! Be yourself always! ❤

Her happiness is infectious and just because you have a miserable life taking from others & not offering ANYTHING forward, dont take it out on others. Because news flash!! That is what you are doing here, taking from Mrs Ellen Ruth, her knowledge & HER recipes. After all, this is HER channel and she can present herself & her channel as she wishes.

I just started soaping but really think twice about starting a business that would keep us from traveling to see our kids, grandbabies and traveling the world in general. Nothing could be worth missing out on this time in our lives. I love soaping and being creative also. I don't normally comment on videos, but I feel the need to add some positivity for your negative feedback. Don't let the haters change who you are. One thing I enjoy about your videos is that you seem your genuine self. I guarantee the people complaining about you rambling has never made content like you have. It's difficult to come up with conversations that last an entire video.. especially being the only person on that side of the camera. I absolutely don't think you giggle too much. You are expressing yourself and that's only natural. There's always someone who's going to dislike something about your content, but that's ok. There are plenty of other channels out there for them. Personally, I think you should continue being you. You have 72k subscribers so you're doing something right. For me, I have enjoyed every video you've put out and your personality really adds to every video. I'm glad I came across your channel when starting my business and soaping journey.
As for sharing your core recipe, that's totally understandable. You are very generous sharing what you do and deserve to have something unique about your personal recipes. If you ever do decide to stop soaping I'd love see your recipe in some form though. The soaps you sell are always such great quality. I really like your triple butter bars.
Thank you for all that you do and share! Enjoy the new found time with your family!

I think we sometimes have to pump the brakes and evaluate what is really important to us in life. You've got a lot going on, and as you said, you have been blessed, and your audience here on UA-cam fully supports you! As a small business owner, I'm so thankful that I've come across your channel. I try to keep with the original look of the house but, remodel at the same time. It can be tricky. I just got my claw foot tub back from having it resurfaced. It needed it. The house belonged to my 3rd great grandparents and I'm proud to finally own it but, the previous owners weren't kind. My daughter has a little UA-cam channel and some kids can be mean too. I told her it's because they're jealous and to reply back complimenting them. So far they've all had their own channel so I've had her go on their channel, subscribe to them, and leave positive comments on some of their videos. They have all ended up apologizing for their mean comment to her. Most importantly she has learned when people leave mean/ negative comments it's a reflection of them, not her, and spreading love/ positivity is more powerful than hate/ negativity. She loves showing them they are seen, matter and loved!

I love your videos. I've never seen anything wrong with them. If people don't like you to ramble it's really a very simple fix. Just stop watching. No nasty comments needed. I feel like I'm there with you when you're just being yourself. So no worries! Keep up the good work.
I'm also so glad to hear you say your studio is organized chaos. Haha. I've been feeling bad about mine not being organized. I'm glad to know I'm not alone!

I've been watching your YT videos for a long time now. I've learned so much from your channel and enjoy your personality which comes across through your videos as fun, quirky, and whimsical. I love how all the soap makers I watch have different personalities and ways of sharing their passion for soap making with the world. You're one of my favorites to watch. I can tell that you enjoy making bath products and sharing your journey because you're always super positive, knowledgeable, and thorough when explaining your vision for a particular soap or bath product. I love that you’re transparent about the products you use and list vendor information. You share recipes all the time, so you definitely shouldn't feel guilty for not sharing a core recipe. Some of the first recipes I've attempted are from your channel.
I've supported many soap makers (and other content creators) by purchasing/trying their products and watching/engaging on YT. I try to always give honest, constructive feedback when asked because I would want the same. To attack someone on social media because you don't like their content, personality, voice, laugh, etc. is insane, sad, and very immature. It takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there so I applaud you and so many others for doing so. Not to mention the time and energy that goes into recording and editing the videos. I hope you don't let the small number of negative encounters deter you from doing what you enjoy. As a retired Navy veteran and current Navy wife, I do understand the need and desire to spend more quality time with your family. So, I support and respect your decision to scale your business back. I think many of your subscribers would continue to watch if you shared family life content as well. I recall a very old video on your page about your goats. I would love to see and hear more about maintaining goats (I'm a city girl). And I always wondered how you managed a one-person small business when it came to family vacations and having farm animals.
Last, I just want to say that watching you and a couple of other soap makers over the years inspired me to start making soap for family and friends three years ago. After much learning and research, I will be attending my first soap and cosmetic conference this year. My goal is to make the leap from hobbyist soap maker to legit small bath and body business owner. I'm excited! I'm also grateful for your channel, so thank you for all you do!❤

I'm truly grateful that you are in UA-cam, you have the good vibes as a excellent teacher as a excellent professor that want to share a knowledge, the gifting of education. I like the way you chatting in your videos. When you said a person at my age, women you are so talented and young, and doesn't matter if you don't have the best or the newest on technology and equipment you are doing excellent with what you have. I didn't know why people said about that things about your speaking, people sometimes repeat words or phrases for example moms, teacher... I think is probably the brain try to process all the information at same time, I don't know my mom do the same and she is relative to your age and something I do the same, my son tell me "mom why are you repeating the same thing 😅 ". Please continuing what your doing on UA-cam. And yes your website is easy to navigate and easy to paid. My best wishes, and glad your husband is healthy again 😊. And your kitchen is beautiful 😍

Thank you for such an honest chat. I love your videos; they are very inspiring! You are so generous with your knowledge, and always gracious. I’ve learned much from them, and hope to also venture into soap making one day when time allows. It amazes me that people can be so ugly so easily with their words. I am certain that your fans far outweigh those who have nothing better to do than leave hurtful comments. I pray you have much blessed time with your family, and enough leftover to do other things you enjoy. 😊❤

Ellen, I love watching you on you tube. I have used several of your recipes, tweaked a few but I look forward to seeing your smiling face every week and you just really lift my spirits. I am a nurse that was assaulted at my job about your age, and that took my happiness away and everything I worked for. The sadness is still there but it's people like you and a few other you tubers that give me joy for that day. I don't make soap as I just don't have space to do so. I hope to start teaching as I can now walk again, and that is a milestone. Please don't let mean people bring you down because for every one mean person there are 10 more of us that just love you. I will continue to follow you as long as you are on there. Just know I just love you and respect your creativity and your lovely personality.

You are sincere, real, genuine, kind and authentic. Your smile is heart warming. Your energy and passion is inspiring and contagious. Your videos are always perfect. I’ve learned so much from you. Thank you for your generosity. I don’t think you ramble at all, and I like your giggle, it’s what makes you who you are and you should always just continue to be who you are. You will never please everyone. People can move on and should make their own choices to watch or not watch. Please don’t ever change who you are and how you present on your channel or elsewhere. You have so much positivity to offer, and I personally love your presentations. You are truly a gift! Wishing you the best in your future endeavors. Im here for what every you do Ellen!! You've been so inspiration to be and i started making soap 4 years ago. Its easy to get overwhelmed. I decided to concentrate of the creative process and perfect my craft. Then i gift or donate to people i choose. It gave me so much grace and latitude to do what I want creatively. Im praying for your family as well. I just turned 52 in July. On Aug 8th I had a major stroke and was in the hospital 5 days, now im facing short term disability, plus other health issues I already had. Sorry im rambling 😂...but i due to stress and other factors and responsibilities i hadn't made any soap in over two years. But in the last two weeks ive got back into watching soap. Especially a lot of your channel, and Holly at Mo River Soap and jerrika at Quench Bear soap. Its been a Godsend. Thank you thank you Ellen

Ellen, I follow many UA-camrs but you are far and away my favorite. Every video you post is a gift to us all for both the content and your wonderful personality. You are so incredibly generous with sharing recipes, tips, sources for equipment, fragrances, and so much more. I've been making soap since 2010 and I still learn new things from you all the time! I use your affiliate links and I love your Amazon store - thank you for sharing your "finds" with all of us!
My husband actually just realized that I only know you from UA-cam. I often say things like "Ellen had this great recipe for xxx, I need to try that." or "I just got this heavy cream powder from Amazon because Ellen says it's great in soap." so he just assumed that you were one of my friends from work or my Artist Co-Op group. I told him that you WERE my friend even though we've never met nor are we likely to :)
I'm so sorry that you've had ugly comments. Like someone else said, your light shines so strong that those who choose to live in darkness find offense with you. I too feel sorry for these people because it must be horrible to live with so much hate in your heart.
My prayers are with you and your family for continued good health and I thank you for continuing to provide your fans with your wonderful videos!

    1. I love your videos, you can laugh, giggle, fumble how much you want; I enjoy your videos.
    2. Don't share your recipe. Not even letting anyone pay for it. You share a lot and people need to learn to build for themselves.
    3. Sleeping on your back is the best thing. Use a contour pillow or neck pillow for support.
    4. You can add a Bakuchiol Serum and a hydrating toner to your skin care routine to help with the flaking.
    5. Thanks for sharing ❤️🤍🖤🇹🇹

This video made me tear up... We love you, Ellen! When I first found your channel, I liked how you spoke naturally to your viewers. You seem gentle and really nice, and absolutely pretty! I always notice your earings and nail color before really watching your soaping process (lol) I also like how you share your process. It's just so relaxing to watch -- even those times when you seem to panic (but with grace) because your batch had accelerated. I find inspiration in your color combos and the ingredients you use, and your final design. On the topic of soap recipes, I think people who want to make soap need to learn how to use a soap calculator so they can make their own recipe and not ask for an established soapmaker's formula. If they want to share it, then it's fine, and if they don't, we just need to respect that. Keep smiling Ellen, don't let mean people snuff out your light!
