I love absolutely everything about this aircraft from the seats to the dirtiness to the wear and tear...she is showing her age but that's what makes her even more special. I haven't seen some of those knobs and seats since I was little. Love love love it thank you for sharing this!! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm sorry even if the airline paid me to travel on this I wouldn't, I flew on one of these in 1975 to Spain DC10 Danair , it's had it's day and so have those 2 pilots , wouldn't trust them with my luggage never mind my flight😅
Wow. Everything inside that airplane is original, which is why it looks all worn and tattered. Even the DC-10s that were still flying here in the later years, the interiors had been completely refurbished...several times throughout the aircraft's life and why you'd never see a DC-10 in that condition here in North America. That airplane is a time capsule and a museum piece. Very neat to see! Would be really nice if they restored it, but I know that would cost millions. Thank-you up loader, for sharing. :)
+ZYC Thanks for watching, and glad you enjoyed the vid. There was some talk about preserving this plane for a museum however, sadly, I believe this bird (S2-ACR) has been scrapped.
+LoveJT8D That's really too bad. I'd restore it myself if I had the means. It really was a beautiful aircraft and will be missed by many. All the best. Glad you got one last chance with the old bird. :)
I just checked it's scrapped. Appat it was donated to the Boeing Museum but returned due to lack of space. 😭 Goddamnit I would have parked it in my driveway to save it.
imagine just for one second the DC-10-30 with the interior of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner , will be amazing to see that , because i love how this aircraft look from Outside.
Just watching this video I can sense and smell the atmosphere, fantastic, I loved working on the DC10, and despite the fact that it is in a sad state interior wise you just know it gets cleaned more frequently than a Ryanair aircraft
I definitely don't think it's going to be fantastically clean, but I suppose an advantage of Ryanair cabins is that they're designed to not have permeable fabric and seatback pockets to keep dirt, they could hose the place down once the passengers are out. Ryanair planes are probably the easiest to clean
The case would have been a bit different if the airlines s belonged to some other management and not Bangladeshis, but of course, in that case they wouldn't have had this fleet in first place.
Brought back my child hood memories that 70's interior. I remember getting on a DC10 thinking I was on a 747 seeing with the 9 seats across. 😆. MD11 replaced this and those are gone now also..
I remember flying on this very plane back from Dhaka to London Heathrow the time Princess Diana passed away..I was a kid back then but the memories are etched into my brains..We were delayed by 2 whole days and was put up in a grotty hotel in Dhaka but it was one of the most fun adventures as a kid..Those were the days..
Awesome! There’s so many good memories from those good old days of flying. Glad I had a chance to fly on this bird. Time really stood still inside the cabin.
Thanks so much Ed. I could have spent hours just taking photos of every square inch of the interior. Not a single upgrade cosmetically except maybe for some replacement hardware. The cabin was a true time capsule of the 80's.
I flew on a Biman plane just like this in 2005. While in the line for the toilet the door swung open much to the embarrassment of the poor old Bangladeshi lady adjusting her clothes. The descent into Dhaka was a proper ear-bleeder too. They've got better now, but I remember those horrendous seats like something from the 70s. So funny when the power went off too... happens all the time in Bangladesh but you don't really want it on a plane. The only in flight entertainment was at the beginning when a projector screen flopped down by the bulkhead and we had prayers from Mecca before departure. Then the screen went up and was never to be seen again!
That’s awesome, you had some opportunities to fly this bird as a revenue passenger! I really like how the interior seemed completely untouched. You just don’t see seats like those anymore. Definitely a flying museum in its own right. Totally remember the projectors too! I flew a TWA 747 as a little kid and the entertainment was at the mercy of when the projector decided to come down. Don’t forget the stethoscope style headphones.
On renewing the insurance for this bird: Insurance agent: “so Mr. Biman, has the aircraft been modified in anyway?”. “No”. Looks like BHX to me. Seem to remember it doing a farewell tour a few years ago. Not that I ever recall Biman serving BHX.
The 2 seats on the window aisle is why I prefer the a330 over the 777 any day. I want a window but I dont want to climb over 2 people to get up. Id sacrifice entertainment to get the 2-seat aisle for every long haul.

I love the constant loud high pitch hum of the APU electrical system running!!
RYAN_ STARALLIANCE Same! Such a classic sound.
i am wondering if the AC frequency might be a bit too high .. to me, it sounds more like something around 420 Hz instead of the standard 400 Hz ...
Hence, the power interruption?
Intoxicating

My first flight was on a DC-10. Very cool video. Thanks for posting.
Love the dirtiness of this classic, the lavatories look awful but it's just a reminder of how old she really is. Loved it man!
Thanks! For as dirty as I thought the lavs might be, they actually had the aroma of old cigarettes. That is some history in itself haha.
Haha that is awesome!
I'm glad I'm not the only one that was loving the dirtiness and age. I could literally smell that plane through my TV.

Well. It's nice to find peolple with my same feeling. I would have loved to smell that classic too
How cool are them seats, would give everything to own one of those! Loved travelling on the DC-10...
A real cougar. Simply majestic and a credit to the engineering talent of bangladesh.

Interior looks amazing! It's the original SQ interior including the side walls
It really was amazing. I felt like I was in a museum, and an interior that was left untouched and allowed to age with the plane.

Awesome aircraft 👍
Colorful 70s style looking seats.
Some memories never fade 🛬🛫 DC-10-30
I was fortunate to have been in a Japan Airlines DC 10’s in the early 2000’s. It was very well maintained.

I flew this airplane in 1995 from Amsterdam to NYC 😅 It was a first experience flying. I also remembered all the crying babies onboard 🤦🏽♂️😫
Wish the DC-10 would fly pax service again in the U.S.
It would definitely be a pleasant sight to see passenger DC-10s gracing the US airports again.

THAT LEG ROOM :) !
Martin Trust me when I say my knee was propped up on the seat back with my foot dangling in the air.
Holy cow! It’s a flying Time Machine from the 70’s! Yeah, the sound in the back was a little loud before the power shutdown. APU issues?
SO Totally cool!
Old seats have thicker cushions and recline further.
4:21 why is the ADI sideways?
They're usually like that when they're unpowered
Why did the Power go out in a Plane at 1:34
What was the seating config on Biman Birds? They didn't have a Business/First class on these I think .all economy?
Just imagine how many landing and take off cycles that plane has had. Probably well over 100k
I love the old 70s upholstery. Very cheerful, unlike todays gloomy, uncomfortable planes..
You're right. Most of today's seats are dark leather and slimline style. Definitely more cheerful upholstery back in the 70s and 80s.
we fly with continental airlines dc 10s very niice as well I love the flower seats here still awesome
Those DC-10s definitely built to last!
DC 1OS has some issues that were eventually resolved.
They sure outlasted Tristars and FedEx still has MD 10-10fs in service
What was the seating layout on Biman's DC10? No business/Maslin class?
Gud Bwoy I believe all economy class. No business/Maslin class.
2-5-2

Lol that interior seems to be hardly changed at all since the 70’s
Exactly! Essentially a flying museum.
Did the apu give out? Or just malfunction?
That I'm not sure of. Could have also been the flight crew that flipped off the apu since most of the people had left the aircraft.
I thought Braniff L1011 were colorful but this DC10-30 is carnivalesque

That lavatory is not an original. That is a much older design that what was being installed in 1988 when it was made.
That’s interesting. Then it must be a specific design that Biman decided to use for their DC-10 fleet.
