The Basics of "Magic" Squares: The 3x3 Square
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 тра 2020
- An introduction to "magic" squares (الأوفاق) as used in Islamic occult sciences (العلوم الغريبة). The simplest possible "magic" square is a 3x3 array containing the numbers from 1 to 9 arranged such that each vertical column, horizontal row, and both diagonals sum to 15. The principles of this square are examined step-by-step in this video.

The 3x3 is ruled by Saturn, the 4x4 is ruled by Jupiter, also I think al Buni says the letter dal/4 represents completion, that is why Prophet Mohammed's name ended with dal. Jupiter is benefic planet, while Saturn is malefic, so that is probably a reason for preferring 4x4 squares. Anyways thanks for making these videos, they are very interesting, God bless.
I just tried the method you showed but with 99 and got this
30 35 28
29 31 33
34 27 32
It worked! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge
There is a mistake in the fourth square: the 9 and the 7 need to swap positions. Sorry.
Actually, shouldn't it be:
8 3 4
1 5 9
6 7 2
@@JawidHassim I have the same doubt. It should be as you said.
@@JawidHassim doesn't really make a difference
I think I could forgive you for almost anything.
What a fascinating subject. Please talk more on this.
Thank you for the video.
I have planned 2-3 more videos on this and will be uploading approxiamtely once week until done. So stay tuned and please subscribe to the channel.
@@SaiyadNizamuddinAhmad I shall look forward to watching them. Thank you.
Thank you for share this knowledge.
Greatly love your works
AsSalaamoAlaikum. JazakAllahu khayran Katheer for creating this content and sharing.
Wa 'alaykum as-salam wa rahmatullah. Very glad you liked the vidieo.
Salam! Great video, really well explained. thankyou so much from Melbourne, Australia. peace n blessings.
U r simply the best
Hi, when is your book on the math for making these coming out for sale.
Thanks
Hi Saiyad, great video! Would like to see the 4x4 square video and the others as well if possible. Thanks!
The 4x4 is coming soon. Check back in about a week and don't forget to subscribe.
Will be uploading today.
@@SaiyadNizamuddinAhmad Thanks for the update!
@@hdot4258 We have uploaded the 4x4 magic square video. Enjoy!
A very informative video and i m really interested in magic squares. It is mentioned in the book of david burtin on number theory. One thing that alarms me that 12 has been subtracted from 66. Plz produce logic about it if possible. We are math minded so there should be an specefic algorithim to fill the cells. Is it not be true if we shift each cell of the square by 18-1=17?
As salam aleykum! Thank you for this! May Allah increase your knowledge and wisdom. I don't understand one thing. Why should we use numbers when every one can make amulets with letters. We can write Allah's names and use them. Do amulets with numbers have special benefits or functions?
Respect💯
Dr Saiyad I have a question for you if you would be kind enough to answer.
It’s simple. Why do you think that there would be a difference in the Vedic system and the Sufi /Muslim system you are using, in terms of the elemental correspondences.
Thanks
Peace and blessings. Great video. Any sources you recommend to learn how to use them for those who are interested in the esoteric applications?
Estoteric applications will not be gone into. Some relevant resources are mentione in my recent video "My Occult Sciences Reading List"
Did you find out what those squares are used for?
Beautiful. So do you always subtract 12 from the magic number? Like you had 66 - 12 = 54, is it always 12 that you minus? Also, once you design the magic square, how do you use it? And for what purpose(s) can it be used?
Yes, always substract 12 from the number you want to put in a 3x3 and then divide by three to get the starting number. Then fill the square according to the pattern of Earth, Air, Water, or Fire increasing the starting number by one in each sub-square.
Did you find out what those squares are used for? Or the purpose
Very interesting thank you. Can you explosion where the number 12 is coking from?
Yes. I will explain the deeper mathematics in a subsequent video. So please stay tuned. Do subscribe so that you can know as soon as it is posted.
Thank you for your quick answer ! Also, how far do you plan to go on the esoteric side of Ilm al awfaq? For matter of fact, I am currently studying kitab al awfaq of Imam Ghazali and I’m struggling with the notion of Istintaq. It is a sensitive matter so I fully understand if you prefer not to dive deeper into it.
@@ikramlakhal9645 I will be posting another video on this today. However, the more esotric elements will not be delved into. The Kitab al-awfaq ascribed to al-Ghazali may be spurious (meaning he may well have not even written such a book). Whatever the case, it is a very difficult book to learn from and is in no way a systematic text. There is a better one by al-Buni. Please refer to my recent video: "My Occult Sciences Reading List" in which I mention this work.
Hello and salam Saiyad Ahmad.I wish you all the God in this world and the next.
I need to know how I can use alBuni and his works for myself and since I have been afflicted my sihr and jinn.
I remember you mentioning, some time ago, that one has to know Arabic, which I know Alhamdulillah.
How can I use alBunis works.Shukran
What are these squares used for? And how do you choose whether to use the Earth, Air, Fire or Water pattern?
Did you find out what those squares are used for?
What if there's reminder 2 or 1?
Do a video of how to calculate the minimum quotient for the 3, 4 n 5 grid. We need to be able to learn how to build them from any number.
One question please why you use Earth pattern with name Allah. Why you did not use fire... Is there some rules in which element we put each divine name...
Im getting strong Pythagoras vibes
Only arabic know the secrets. One day everyone will wish to come to arabic word to understand the life and become a human being
There is only one magic square 3x3.It is not hard to memorise it.
It is the same magic square.
