Bears move with momentum and mass! I think they would have a lot of tanks maybe some with gigantic rotating flails on the front. Or speeders armed with rocket launchers and gigantic power scythes mounted on the undersides.
I really appericate that when you first started this chapter it made me realize that there is basically no offical space marine chapter with the word "bear" in their name

its hard to believe these aren't GW models the bits fit so perfect I'm going to have to try out some puppets war bits now
I wish they’d offer more STLs. I think a lot more artists would offer STL options if there was a way to lock license to printers, kinda like audio plugins can lock license to a limited number of PCs.
@@HuntingHeresy there's more people putting their work out there than ever. They're just harder to find if they're not as brazen about what the bits are for.

its not hard to belive at all..
I bought some hooded helms from them and they were a bit undersized. Wish I was able to get an STL as I'd have just resized them like 5-10%
Baking soda, white glue and pure white paint make an amazing snow texture as well if you run out of the GW stuff
And it doesn't yellow with age?
@@emmanueltauch3064 the white paint helps with that. make sure you get a good enough amount into it.
Cannot believe how consistently amazing these models turned out. Basing, colour scheme, accessories, snow effects, everything looks like a million dollars. Lock it in Eddie!

I love the idea of adding more Native American like characters. The current models strongly look like Frontiersman during the Westward Expansion. A combination of both would make for a solid Custom Chapter! Can’t wait to see more!
Like the Primaris being the Frontiers men while having some First Company old school be more Native American?

@@shadowofhawk55 Not separated. For instance, keeping the current European like characters with the look we see in this video maybe slightly altered for variety and the Natives with Tomahawks (pistol) with Ball Head Clubs (chain sword).
Also some visual differences throughout the armor other than a head swap.

I feel bad for Dave's Nurgle Marines. They are about to feel their innards become even more outards as the Astra Primursa educate them on the correct use of a power weapon.

I feel bad for Dave's caste loving hole faces. They are about to learn the true might humanity first hand from the claws of the Astra Primursa. (side note, you said the Astra Primursa are inspired by Native Americans last episode. Will the biker contingent be Comanche inspired by chance?)
Great army design!
I think, given the theme of hibernation and waiting long times, a dreadnought would be suuuper thematic to the Space Bears! Nearly all the time when a dreadnought isn't fighting they're hibernating anyways! Space wolf venerable dreadnoughts also get very cool unique weapons, like a huge frost axe and shield, or frost claws! I think it would fit the army to a T!
I'm beary proud of how far you've come with these! I wasn't even a big fan of space Marines until the 🐻 army came to life.
The conversion work is a bit beyond me, but I adore the aesthetic of this army.
I really do like addition of the green tufts. It really makes it feel like the coming of spring and the awakening of the plants and the bears out of hibernation. It makes it feel like it's own atmosphere and not just a winter base. The city eyes really pops nice against the red as well. Along with bring in that frost of spring feel.
DUDE this is so exciting!!! Seeing these in person is so sick! They're real!! I can't decide if I'm more nervous or excited for my bust to come! I want to do the bear-man proud!

I have been following this project since the first video and I am absolutely in awe at your persistence and will as well as in love with the Space Bear chapter.
I LARP for fun. And one of the LARPs I attended was witcher school in which you play as a Witcher. I joined Bear school because it fit my character best. The LARPs are episodic and divided into timelines or in this case called seasons.
The bears rose from a single NPC to 15 of the scariest fighters armored in steel and leather which projected fear to the point where a sparring match was canceled by the other team because they saw one of us fight and decided it was better to keep their heads. And the one that fought, had to fight because he was the weakest. This was stated before the match and after he won by not taking a single hit. We turned out to be a family helping each other in times of emotional turmoil to physical recovery. So outside of “the campfire circle” which we make as like a meeting point, it looks like the bears are killing machines solely focused on hunting and fighting. Inside the circle however things flip upside down as we talk about the hunt, the mead, share stupid jokes and monsters we slayed and their weakpoints. How the monster's body can be carved up to get most material out etc. We even started dividing roles. Armor Bear, Plan Bear and myself as Care Bear just to name a few.
This is panning out longer than I wanted but I just wanted you to know how much I, as a bear witcher and a WH40k fan, resonate with your space bears and the whole aesthetic, idea and your wonderfully awesome and cool execution of the chapter.
If I may put a small bug in your ear just as a personal flavor I think you might enjoy.
When writing the background, consider making them a Imperial Fist successor chapter.
Patience, defense. 10k years ago they might have been a part of the fists that were sent to certain planets as silent observers, sleeper agents which would in time “wake up” to take care of business. The fists, utilising power gauntlets and bears utilising power claws is also a neat little parallel you can draw between the two chapters.
And the feel of bulkiness is another parallel you could draw from the two.
I understand however, if you wanna keep them a Vlka Fenryka successor because of the feral and wild aesthetic, just giving ideas that might be more interesting if you ever keep developing any sort of story or lore :)
honestly, these bears were the one thing i was most looking forward to on this channel, as well as some battle reports and AoS battle reports.
Made me start to make custom models on my necron Dynasty as well. Also got me making up my own lore and everything. Dont worry, im an adult toooooo :)

I have an idea to make a Halloween-based Night Lords raptor warband of a bunch of ex-Bleeding Eyes, since Night Lords are so focused around fear tactics

Just incredible. To see something like that come from initial kitbash, through conceptualized ideas, turning them into drawings and 3d models, and finally into a product line fit for GW is an incredible process for someone like me. This is why I'm into the hobby. This is the itch that I just have to scratch.

Nice sculpting! I enjoyed watching the process from this end.
For cheaper snow on the bases, grab a container of the Woodland Scenics snow effects powder. Mix into kind of a gloopy mess with some strong pva (I use Aleene’s Tacky Glue), and apply to the bases. Sprinkle more powder on top and you’re done. Space Bears are looking great!

Love your Space Bears. With the recent surge of Joytoy 1/18 space marines, it would be great to see a squad of 1/18 space bears, or possibly 3d printed accessories to convert a joytoy marine to a space bear, just food for thought. Keep up the great work!

It made me SOOOOOOO happy when you went with Warploque to Gehenna for your gold. I know it's sad but it is just the BEST recipe for gold and more people need to see this.
Also I have my own Chapter of marines, the Lions Sable, who I've done a very similar process with, designing and mapping out who they are and what they look like with extensive use of Puppetwars bits too, so I feel you on this one. And I'm gonna be ordering the STL files to get my hands on those claws for them too 😊
I absolutely love these, I was working on a custom Astartes project myself. My chapter that I was looking at was a similar scheme, was looking at using Army Painter warpaints Nightscales and rough iron for the main colors, with the red. My plan was to incorporate Legion Mk.III armor into the primaris kits (I have a lot of Legion Mk.3 marines).
The name i was toying around with for the chapter Umbra Ursa. The crazier idea with the force was to make a bunch of heavy troops that can count/play as Adeptus Custodes (they in the lore would be the more veteran/older marines), and then on their tanks I would incorporate human crews, male and female, so that the marines are not wasted being glorified tankers.
All in all keep up the fantastic work,
Jazza, yr space bears inspired me to make my own chapter I bounced around from lions to wolverines and finally decided on mammoths I just finished moulding my first three and I am so glad I did this
Love how the models came out. The heads especially look so awesome! Going to have to get that set for my own conversions down the line. Not 40K since.. Well, I don't really do 40K, but theres a lot of potential with those bits in general!

Great conversions! Love their bulky brawler look, really sells your concept with just a glance. It probably also helps that I'm a sucker for pelts on Space Marines, especially around the collar, so I knew I was going to like them already.
Also, since you're planning on expanding your army with the Maulers and Chapter Master, I was wondering if you had any plans on converting a Dreadnought to match. They DEFINITLY fit with the chapters theme of hibernating, lumbering tanks and their size would be a great opportunity for more conversions.
Either way, loved the video and look forward to their "future awakening".

When it comes to cutting off bits and re-gluing them I'd use plastic glue for a much stronger connection since it essentially melts the jagged edges from the plastic down which will also create a better fit for what you want.
Also I love that you took the points on representation well. So much of warhammer is white men and while that isn't inherently a bad thing, its nice to see some more representation especially when design elements are inspired by other cultures!
I love that about the Ultramarines. They’re supposed to be space Romans but Gulliman looks more like Gaul or a Teutonic.

Glad you noticed that the streaking grime looks green too. I just used it on a squad of space Marines and it looks noticeably different from the rest of my army

I LOVE these! If I'd been smart 17 years ago I would've just done a "successor" Space Wolves chapter with a bear theme instead of trying to write my own codex. As it stands, I may need to, at least, build a Kill Team. Those bits are freaking amazing!
