It isn't as dramatic or heart-wrenching as you might have read in previous comments. Though I think it is still a valid reason for being emotional through the song. (I have been self-studying Japanese for 4 years. I read Japanese novels and listen to Japanese podcasts - including the news - on a daily basis. I am not a qualified translator though so it may sound strange a parts. But I assure you I have tried to reflect the meaning of the original as best as I could.)

+Jed Cauffield No one died. She mentions no death. This song just brings back a lot of memories for her. Listen to me, the one who is fluent in Japanese not the people making up bullshit about her boyfriend or husband or something.
Drayomi Yeah THANKS man! I already looked up for the better hour to find out, found they write songs under a pseudonym too. While I was fooled for a moment while watching it, I mean the song itself already speaks to me before. But I never seen it live before. I could feel her emotion like I feel the sadness of leaving a friend or old memory that left behind and lost the connections to it. Any chance you know a great link for an English translation or lyrics on YT?
+Jed Cauffield Most English translations for songs on the internet are terrible to be honest, lol Translated by people who don't know enough or who have little experience in the art of translating. Also, I am fluent in Japanese so I watch everything without English because I have no need for Japanese to be interpreted for me. I could translate the lyrics of this song for you if you want. (You will have to give me a little time - good translations take time)
1. I don't know Japanese 2. I do know she can sing 3. I found this song thanks to inuyasha 4. I love this song 5. Even though I can't understand her language I can understand her passion and pain
nia habeeb-ullah her husband or boyfriend died in a car accident while they were working on this song together so that's why she started crying during her performance
Do as Infinity, one of the 'BEST' band ever especially on that Era where JPop is at Peak. Legendary it is. and yes Tomiko Van is very very Beautiful indeed, she's a model before becoming vocalist of DAI.
She's got this quality to her voice, it's like a velvety whisper the words just slip out of her mouth, and feel like velvet! Doesn't hurt that she's pretty too!
on my childhood days, I first heard of this song from a closing part of the episode an anime (inuyasha), I cried from that moment of first time hearing it (even if I can't understand the words in this song). In this video, I don't understand what the singer is saying (cuz I still don't quite understand Japanese language) before she sang the song but I kinda get what she meant (a bit). Maybe she had a sad memory in relation to this song because she cried while singing. Now, I understand why I cried from the first time hearing it. I got connected to the song. Music really has no language barrier.

this song is so special for me...it brings me a lots of feelings, I always cry...everything from inuyasha makes me so happy, and sad, and nostalgic... all miserable words for this song, for inuyasha, because it's beyond everything...
"Arrived to mourn" ? She said "I was tearing with emotion(embarrassed smile). So I have a special feeling for this song." She didn't say "Omoide"(memory), she said "Omoi-ire". It means "special feeling", "special fondness", "particular emotion", etc.
Dang. I'm crying now too. It's probably my favorite song from InuYasha in general, but to know the history behind the song now...makes it even more so! She's a strong woman and I'll forever respect her!

She thanks everyone, then explains it makes her feel very emotional, that she might cry- and brings back lots of memories so she only does this song upon request. It left such an impression on her after listening to Dai Nagao's demo and then she says she will be singing from her very heart and soul, announces the song and begins.
I think Ban-san was very brave to sing this live from her heart, despite all those strong memories and feelings! She held it together, which I'm sure was much harder than it looked.
I just finished the Inuyasha series. This is probably the best song used for an anime ending ever, and brings back memories of when I was a kid and stayed up late to watch Inuyasha on Adult Swim. The raw emotion this song resonates is incredible.

She is awesome! Naturally beautiful so far I have not seen her with make up.. but she is so beautiful and that voice.. who can forget that specially when it reminds you of INUYASHA...

I just hope that lucky guy wakes up everyday next to her and realizes he's with one of the greatest songwriters and singers of our time.

I don't speak Japanese and have limited exposure to Japanese music. But this is a beautiful song and I think I understand it... without understanding the words.

I can't understand her words but her emotion is multilingual. She almost cried multiple times. May her bf rest in peace.
Watching anime helps me find the best songs. I discovered this from InuYasha and I found out about FLOW from Naruto ❤️ And I don't even speak Japanese
Gua aja suka pengen nangis kalau mendengar lagu ini serasa di bawa ke sesuatu zaman yg gua rindukan

this song Decorates my Childhood days and Holidays in the Inuyasha Movie😘😘😘
Even though I don't understand it, I think she has an amazing voice, I always listen to this song
I don't speak Japanese and have limited exposure to Japanese music. But this is a beautiful song and I think I understand it... without understanding the words.
so sad, i feel it -_-
She's so beautiful and her voice... damn!!
Here's the moment when a man can cry...its hard to see the pain in her eyes and feeling in her notes...its beautiful but painful
I remember watching Inuyasha and playing Diablo 2 at the same time in my youth. Such wonderful memories. Now I'm re watching Inuyasha and play d2 resurrected 😁
Love the music from Inuyasha, one of the only shows that I actually had to find who sings it and had to get it from itunes
