I love how Paradox just dances and does his own thing while other dancer are so focused on the battle aspect while it just seems like he's having a good time. Kinda a breath of fresh air when it comes to dance battles.

Sometimes I look at some of these dance battles with Paradox that go three rounds and wonder why as it’s obvious he’s got the moves, musicality, originality and creativity that many others don’t have. He don’t need three rounds to turn you out 😅. Dude is a master dancer. I guess they wanna see if the other guy is gonna show up after round one 😊

Huge Les Twins fan, they're some of my favorite dancers...But Paradox is definitely one of my top favorite dancers also. I've been waiting for this battle for the LONGEST time..And I gotta say Paradox owned Laurent in every way...Wow.

Being 2nd is in every aspect of battling the best scenario for you, you have more time to listening the beat, meaning that you can time your moves better , even with that advantage did Laurent lose and got rekt. So yeah, Laurent lost, even though we saw him dancing to that beat before. No excuses, he was worse than Paradox and that's it.
Have watched both of these dancers for a long time and I think it was an epic battle simply for the fact that is was a pretty fair representation of each one... both of these guys are 2 of the best ever, but Paradox def took this one.. his creativity/originality are fantastic! *Les Twins were/are game-changers so nothin but love.
Also I thought it was cool to see how (imo) Laurent seemed a little rushed & flustered knowing how well Paradox did, very rare...

and this is the one this year. I can't even help it. Paradox killed it. Laurent called him out and he killed it.
The twins are unstoppable when they’re together. When separated they can’t have one keeping the other in check. Looks like they realized that and continued to do solo battles. Now look at how beast they are!

I think first of all Lau didn't follow the beat that much this time, i'm a big Les Twins fan and they changed me so much, but i also see their weaknesses, they have a slight ego problem, if they feel like they'll lose they just try to rely on their known and liked moves, they get pissed and so they turn on the "auto driven" dance mode instead of following the song, they try to make the other dancer nervous and win thanks to the enemy's own emotions trying, i didn't like the rock paper scrissors move, they did that recently plenty of times to play the nervousness card of the enemy and winning the crowd at first sight even if that's an unsportsmanlike move. Paradox won and i agree with the judges, he followed better the music and he actually danced. I leave you all with this quote:

They have a big ego problem. Which is why alot of dancers choose not to work with them or do business with them.
I think it also has to do with a need for more foundation in their dance. Obviously this is awhile ago so their different now. They have TONS of versatility n creativity in their movement but with Les Twins, they don't necessarily focus on using one style and mastering the fundamentals/foundations within that. Them being able to adapt to any music is phenomenal and their skills is great but in a freestyle battle the lack of foundations shows lil bit. can tell by the transitions and flow between Paradox and Laurents round. It helps to know the music but Paradox just has smooth transitions and flow. He didn't overfocus on highlighting musicality and skill

Well, imo Paradox won this all the way. I haven't been following Les Twins so much for the past two years because I haven't seen any progression in their dance. If you compare how Paradox was few years back to what he's now, he has come a long way. Not hating the Les Twins tho, they are one of the reasons I started dancing myself. I just don't get the surprising excitement from them that I'm getting from many other dancers.
Exactly you see paradox improving constantly while les twins is complacent. They're used to be great from 2012-14 but now they're just good to me. Paradox on the come up . Hahah
Don't get the impression that Lau hasn't leveled up from this battle alone (and I recommend you watch his other 2016 videos, I can show you a whole playlist's worth of it haha). Lau alone has leveled up immensely this year (many others agree also if you see comments on other vids), and yes Paradox has leveled up as well. It's just that all dancers do the same things at some point (Paradox included, in fact in this battle alone I've seen like 95% of his stuff from 2013/14 battles).
But I have seen the videos from 2016 (I still check the videos if I see them, but not purposely search for them like I use to), there is some good moments sure but it just seems like they haven't put the time and effort to evolve their dance. That's the problem for me, I've seen this same thing for the past two years. And yes, dancers do same things, but the best ones atm still have variations from their moves and are surprising and add new stuff all the time. Don't get me wrong, I actually hope that Larry and Laurent realize that hey we have to do something and that the dance scene is not the same as it was back then. Maybe they need to lose some battles to get that extra push, I don't know. And my opinion is not based on this battle only, it's based on the past years. All good for you tho, thanks for the reply!
KASSPE Hmm well one logical explanation is how busy they are compared to everyone else in the scene. The others lab and then go into the comps, and they repeat that process over and over (including cyphering as well, particularly Icee). Les Twins have a jam packed schedule (as far as I can tell from their IG they're in a different continent almost every week lol), so it's natural to think they can't lab as much.
That's what I'm saying, high chance for lack of practice. Traveling doesn't hurt the process tho, Paradox has been all over the world this year. It just has been dance related. And I think that it's not correct to say they are busy and others are not. It's a matter of priorities. For some it's practice, for some it's making money (as long as it's your choice and you are happy, then go with it). But I truly think the way back to scene is to be in every aspect of the scene. Les Twins have been making money from their dance and I understand that, it must be a dream come true. But maybe take some nightclub events away and put some actual dance events to the schedule instead, who knows.

Laurent's not really a beatkillers lol. He normally feels the music, but this time it seemed he was more focused on winning than letting the music take him. That was his downfall.

Paradox without a doubt won this fair and square and anyone who claims it's because of the crowd is just lying to themselves. No matter if the crowd was there or not and if different judges were judging this paradox would have still won it. I'm not hating on Laurent but he did lose this battle and it shouldn't be that big of a deal. All dancers lose plenty of battles and no dancer is unbeatable.

The crowd was bias. So what? The crowd doesn't choose the winner. The judges do. Also, this was not even a close battle. Laurent exhausted his power moves instantly, with no build-up, and he was not feeling the music like he should have been. Too focused on winning I guess.
Did you not read what I said? You ignored my whole point. The point is that even if the crowd was biased against the twins, if you removed the crowd entirely but still had the same battle paradox would have still won. That's a fact and there's no denying it.

Paradox was flowing with the music, while Lau was trying to impose his own personality on it. Would have def liked to see them go at each other for another, but Paradox clearly won this one. One of my favorite dancers ever!
I am a die hard twins fan. I am extremly bias with them and even I saw that paradox killed Lau in this battle. It was actually awkward to watch because I never seen him lose so bad. He was soo off and Paradox was on some other stuff. i love to see how Lau adapts his style to take on people like Paradox and Skitzo.
He shouldn't adapt...he should just dance. That's why he lost. I don't even know what he was doing there. It's funny that you mentioned Skitzo. I always wanted to see him team up with Paradox.
After a few years (and also being an admirer of Paradox), I came back to watch the performance again and tbh Laurent did put a very solid round. He was "over the place" and very acrobatic, but he was popping a lot more than Paradox kinda "debating" musicality with him; though Paradox had a more relaxed and fluid approach, he was really grooving. I don't disagree with the decision, at all; but I don't think that Laurent got completely owned here, though he lost fair and square, just not by a lot.
I feel like Laurent is more of a crowd pleaser (dances for the joy of it and entertains people), and Larry is one that likes to battle; I'll always love and support LT forever, but Dox took this one big time :3

Both are skilled dancers. Mad respect for them. What made the difference? Attitude.
Paradox is just better. To describe his performance in a sentence, "he literally DANCED". When Laurent was performing, I was constantly like, "when will he dance?". There was no dance in his whole performance. Just some random signature moves stitched together.
Secondly, all the staunch Les Twins fans constantly complaining about crowd being biased, well, is that Karma? You never complained about biased crowds in hundreds of other battles where the crowd was biased in the favor of Les Twins. This is a Schadenfreude moment for me.
I have always loved Les Twins and I even followed them crazily at one point. However, it's the attitude of their fans and their recent rude conduct that has turned me against them.
Anyways, without being biased, Paradox was 10 times better in the battle and you know it.
The fans should never interfere with your liking of a dancer. It's not a legitimate excuse to express hate over a dancer and it's not fair to him/her. And about the crowd, do know there are some silent crowds for other battles Les Twins were in (notably Red Bull this year and Strife 7 to smoke last year), and their battles mostly have the crowd cheering for both though the Twins do get a lot in those.

Majid Khalid I still stand by my point, you shouldn't care what the fans say to you even if they try saying rude things to you. You have the option/choice of ignoring/not responding. I've seen bad fans trust me, but it really shouldn't affect how you feel about Les Twins themselves. That's like me saying I hate DH because of their fanboys (I've seen a lot of bad ones trust me). It just isn't respectful in any means towards the dancer(s).

My statement had 2 points.
1. I started hating Les Twins because of their fans.
2. I started hating Les Twins for their conduct. I am talking about the conduct and behavior of Les Twins here, not their fans. If you see their recent videos with Dragon House and FikShun you will know what I am trying to say.
I do agree with your point though i.e. our liking and disliking should not be affected by an artist's fans. However, I am just an ordinary human being and stupid things can piss me off in stupid ways.
Majid Khalid If you don't remember you and I had an argument about exactly that in Blu/Larry's vid lol, but I remember you didn't comment back after I told you Blu disrespected Larry in that event; you said you automatically dislike dancers that do anything disrespectful and I told you that you should stick to your words and dislike Blu because of that, of which afterwards you didn't comment back. Point of the matter being at the very end, they gave respect towards each other and grudges shouldn't be held, plus what Larry/Blu did isn't even remotely that bad.

Paradox is by far my favorite dancer, but I didn't think the singular Les Twin was bad either. I think him being fame and not being at the top of his game when it came to flowing with the song, but I think what really did it was his attitude and demeanor. Some people can power through and kill anyways, but audiences definitely mind a 'bad sport,' especially when the dance isn't amazing to begin with. Still, one battle aside, both these guys are beasts. Paradox just had more flow and a better attitude this battle.

I really hope that with both Larry and Laurent getting knocked out in the first round is a wake up call to innovate a little and use their power moves a lot less or at the very least incorporate them into their dancing. otherwise you can't keep doing the same shit that was dope in 2012 and think it's still got that wow factor in 2016

TheStrawbeery There have been events where the crowd mostly cheer for the twins and their fans have no problem with that. The main issue is that when the twins lose, it's everybody else's fault but their own. Bad crowd. Bad judges. They were tired. They weren't feeling the music. The air conditioning was on too high. It's irritating for those of us who are not Les tins groupies and simply enjoy dance. I don't hate Les Twins...I've been to their workshops, met them etc but I'm not going to like everything they do and I will be honest when I think they need to do better.
The twins blame others when they lose? Didn't know that. Also, it is clear that Laurent did not feel the music in this battle. Like not at all. I don't know what this was, but this is one of his most disappointing battles. He exhausted his power moves and was simply not letting the music guide him. This is contrary to his style. I guess he was too focused on winning, which proved to be his downfall.

Paradox is a different breed to out class Laurent. That round was too crisp, out danced him on many different levels. Made Laurent pull out a bunch of flare moves to win the crowd but Paradox already took the air out the building🔥🔥🔥🔥

Paradox kilked him off and that's obvious. In flow, musicality, and move variety. Paradox was the dancer who transitioned through with incredibly smooth groove-ish dancing. He gave actual feeling. He actually tried to DANCE to the beat.
This isn't like the BluPrint vs Waydi battle.
Unlike BluPrint, Laurent wasn't injured here. He could have at least gave it his best, considering that Paradox isn't just an "average dancer".
He's considered an oldschool hip hop legend along the lines of Majid and Icee. Paradox has been in the freestyle game since late 2000's. Laurent shouldn't have been this underestimating of Paradox. Looking down on others won't make him a better dancer. With his old style? Maybe he could have won this and been the better dancer (or not).
Call me bias and such. But definitely a Paradox win. Laurent's new style sucks. Paradox has connection, passion, and character into dance. That's what makes him so much better.

I think overall les twins are still my favorite overall dancers. I’m not amused or interested in their battles and freestyles as I used to be but one thing I will never get bored of or used to are their choreographed performances. Their freestyles and battles might be repetitive but they always bring something new or different in their performances
I'm till the the dead with Les Twins for many years ago, but I have to be honest, I hope that these battles that they lost serve to try to renew themselves in their moves, their great fame has been their worst enemy
