@patriciaellen09 I'm pretty sure just alcohol can ne used. It evaporates off quickly, so it doesn't mix with your soap or become part of the ingredients. If you used water, it would affect the way the soap sets up because soap starts breaking down in water. The bubbles form as oxygen is released from the soap, so spraying it immediately with alcohol pops the bubbles. Whether you cover it up or not, bubbles will still form, so that's where the alcohol comes in.
Those asking about preservatives, I'm fairly certain there's enough citric acid in the zest that it won't go rancid. Not positive tho, but citric acid was a long time used preservative.

Wouldit not color the skin yellow? Btw essential oils melt plastic. If you rather not have microplastic in your skin , it will be better to mold in glass

The soap seals / preserves the ingredients it’ll never go rancid
you can use 1% rosemary oil , vitamin E or Cosgard brand, remember the rule no more 2% oils in total in the weight of the soap or be too soft.

No. Lemon juice and lemon zest will rot in the soap over time and get moldy.

You can use lemon zest in melt and pour soap. It will rot and get moldy over time.

Melt and pour soap base has already saponified. The expiration or shelf life is comparable to store bought soap bars.
