I already have a supplier in China that offers me FOB terms. I need to setup the logistics from manufacturer to Amazon warehouse (as per your video). i. e. Find a reliable all inclusive freight forwarder for ship or Air freight. Does your company offer this service?
Hi. My company Jingsourcing is not a freight forwarder or shipping company that arrange the shipping from China to Amaozn. That's not our main service. What we do is helping Amazon sellers source products in China, help them follow up production, check quality and arrange shipping from China to Amazon FBA.

If you dont have any experience on shipping from China, and you don't want any mistake happen for the first shipment, then ask supplier offer you DDP price will be best.
If you want to gain more experience, eventhough the first shipment turns out expensive or being delayed, then try to find a freight forwarder to help you ship products. In this case, using EXW or FOB is all based on your freight forwarder. If your freight forwarder can arrange shipment from manufacturer, then ask supplier quote you ExW. If your freight forwarder can only arrange shipping from the sea/air port of China, then supplier quote you FOB.

I was quoted a DDP express price to the US of a 8kg case for $460 by FedEx. That comes out to $57.50 per kg. Way more than your quoted $6.00/kg.
Hi, Scott. In this case, probably your cargo is charged by dimensional weight. For express, the dimensional weight is calculated as length(cm) x width(cm) x height(cm) / 5000. the number you get from this calculation called dimensional weight. So express will charge you the bigger one of either dimensional weight or real weight. Example, you are sending a 100cmx120cmx 50cm foam, but only 10kg real weight. Of course, express company will charge you dimensional weight 120kg, instead of 10kg. Because foam is too big but light.

Thank you, great question, well, if your manufacturer is an experienced exporter, he shall have complete knowledge of this, asking him or her directly about the certifications needed based on your target market would probably be the best choice, but if you have your own appointed forwarder of long-term cooperation, he could also be your best adviser.

if the product is stuck at th customs and you are a non USA resident how you deal withe the tax duties
For people who didn't purchase custom bond (no matter he is US resident or not), asking freight forwarder to help you do the all import process is the only solution. For peopel who are not frequently import to US, finding a freight forwarder to help you handle all import process is the easiest and cheapest way.

Hi Carrie, I think there is no DDL in trade terms, it should be DDP or DDU, if you want the goods directly ship to you address, and let the supplier afford all cost, you can choose these two terms. For shipping cost, you just inquiry to many different suppliers and forwarders to compare the price, then select the suitable one.

Hi, Vanessa. That's good question. If your cargo is sent by express, usually Chinese supplier will help you arrange the shipping. Most of them will use express agency which acts like a freight forwarder, instead of contacting directly to express company like FedEX or DHL. Because the official express companies will charge regular price, which is incredible expensive for shipping products in quantity.
I'm not sure about other countries, but in China, there are alot of middleman, called express agency or express freight forwarder, they can get very low discount from FedEX or DHL, and give still low discount price with their profit to your suppliers.
For this kind of company, it will be hard for you to find them, because their targeted clients are Chinese companies, and they only speak Chinese. Maybe some of them have English sales, but I bet their price won't be good. So it's always better to ask your supplier help you find this kind of express agency or express freight forwarder, and quote you the price.

Good information. May I know which currency of $6/kg you mentioned on video ? USD or CNY?
Hi, Linda. Both currency rate and express fee changes whole year around. For example, FedEX will not only change express fee, but also charge some extra percentage of fuel . So it will be better say around $6kg, but won't go too much like over $7. But anyway, the most important thing for the price is based on the shipper's FedEX account. Big customer always get low rate. New and small FedEX account will be more expensive than $7, $8 or higher.
Im about to do my first Air freight with my freight forwarder picking up from China to United states. Are their any questions I should ask them before shipment begin? Because I feel like I can get Hidden fees like LCL sea shipping because i just want a one- time payment on shipment...
one time payment is quite normal, and I suggestion to do this too if you are shipping LCL to Amazon. Only when you become very professional for the importing process, then you can ask your supplier quote you price on CIF. Thus you can pick up cargo at port, do custom clearance by yourself or custom broker, and arrange the domestic shipping to your address. In this case, what you pay will be much lower than those one time payment all included shipping fee from China.

1. If for example my supplier said they have a deal with UPS and they can send my products by them, how am I going to pay UPS? By giving money to my supplier or what? And if my package requires import duties how UPS going to charge me more?
2. When I open a new delivery on Amazon, Amazon asks me which delivery company I am going to use and they show the price to pay for delivery. Is there something to do with that?

HI, Altan. Thank you for the comment, and these are very good questions.
1. If your suppliers in China help you manage express shipping by UPS/FedEX/DHL, they will pay all cost. You don't need to do anything with express companeis, but just pay your supplier directly.
About the import duty, you don't need to worry either. Packages sent by express less than $800, there's no duty. If it's over than $800, there's some chance to be charged duty, but not much. And there's no certain way to calculate how much it is. It's different from sea freight or air freight, which is charged according the import duty rate of US. If there's duty happened, express company will sent bill to your suppliers in China, and charge them. So Chinese supplier will charge you the express fee with an estimated duty when they quote you express fee. So you just pay all express fee before shipping, then it's done.
2. Amazon suggested delivery company means you need to tell them an address in US, then Amazon will ask delivery company to pick them up. If you are shipping from China to Amazon directly, you dont need this service. Just choose other option, that means you will arranging shipping by your own supplier.

I think this will help you a lot. And if you need courier service, just ask your supplier to contact FedEx in China or a FedEx agent in China, and send products with FedEx in China, instead of contacting your own country's FedEx and picking them up in China, because there is no discount and it will become expensive.

I got a quote from a shipping company that is about $4.1/kg for air freight from China to Amazon US warehouse and shipping time is 12 - 15 days. I have asked them whether the long shipping time is due to the fact that US customs will check more strictly goods in air freight than in air express, but they said it's not true. They explained that because air freight have to wait for flight as well as for gathering goods from other sources into the flight so it takes more time. The custom process is still the same as air express.
Is what they said correct?

Actually both of your explanations make sense, it's true that usually US customs check the goods more strictly when it comes to air freight, but this is not gonna be the major course. For general goods, the shipping time usually depend on the air freighter you use and the price option. If the freighter is just a forwarder & agency, then goods collection (to furthest lower the cost) could be a time-consuming step, which to be blame mostly for the external shipping time. DHL express is a good option
DHL is not the best option for sending to US, but is good for Europe and other rest of the world.
Jingsourcing I usually have my suppliers in China ship DHL air express to my US location. I’ve never had any issues. 4-5 business days.
