Thanks for showing us the expo, definitely some high-dollar stuff there. Still like your rig though...basic, low-cost, and super cozy without spending THOUSANDS of dollars. That's why I set up my truck with a similar philosophy to yours.

Down2mob built a 72x76 pop-up on a Gladiator as a rock-crawl 'motorhome'.
Then he acquired a girlfriend and she has a dog...
My son has a red jeep like that with the camper on the top like that he goes every where to campout like you do he has been in california for 12 months now he is a electric ⚡💡 he in with a company that goes all over he did all the fires there in california to he loves his job they are get ready to do all the storm that came thought to do electric ⚡💡 and what ever they need .faye from AZLE Tx ❤️

Going to expo better have lots of coin as those shows are high end, but u can't get alot of some really good ideas and do things to your truck to up grade it yourself. Thanks for taking me along with u to the show awesome!
I'm just not a fan of the rooftop setups. I did think that F550 ... If that's what it was, it was awesome. To be honest I think your truck is really the perfect set up. I watched Mav completely redo the inside of his truck not too long ago. I still think yours is much better. It's simple yet everything has a place.

Heck I live in SE Nebraska. There are many good fabricator welders around who could build you a tire carrier to your specs. Betting tons cheaper. I am always dreaming up stuff that I have had made. Enjoyed the show!

I grew-up on a farm.
We wrapped excess chain around the binder handle.
Impossible to accidentally open.
awesome rigs
I noticed only 2 Chev/GMC builds in the show.
The problem with most of those set ups for guys like us, Quady, is that we tow a boat which means we have to tear down camp every time we put the boat in or take it out. I like your set up, everything is self contained, you don't have to tear down or set up. Those overlander rigs are nice but bring lots of money.
this reminds me that I should probably try to get my boat started and ready for this season, I'm late to the party as usual 😂

If I could bother you to answer a question, because you're more involved with this lifestyle, is there some sort of bias against GMC in the overlanding/camping community? Lot's of Toyota, Jeep, Land Rover, a few Fords & Dodge, but not much GMC, I seem to notice in all the channels devoted to this.
That Transit conversion was pretty sweet.
Yeah, I liked that it was an aluminum build and modular, the interior remains mostly usable to haul stuff

Our home-made ExpeditionVehicle is rear-entry.
With a side-entry, all that nincompoopery needs to be stored aboard prior to travel.

With our rear-entry, we use existing structure to climb right in... nothing needs to be stowed.

Really interesting , liked the blue Toyota and the expedition RVs were interesting but $$$. I like the simplicity of your rig and how open and airy yet with your curtains lots of privacy. I feel the more complex the more things to break. Thank you for the tour.

Totally agree, too much bling and maintenance for me. I'll stick with my 05 4X4 2500 Cummins with 6 speed and a truck topper where I built out a bed and cabinet. Simple setup in a minute much like your truck.
Camped near Fort Randall at South Shore this weekend right on the lake last night. Cruised by a bunch of those places you went by a few vids ago. Really liked Sand Creek and Tabor recreation areas West of Yankton. Good fishing and camping spots, both are on my visit list soon!

My father had a pop top. There is a site we use in Florida where the wind picks up fetch across Lake Okeechobee and would shred them :(

You'd have a hard time getting me to sell my 19' TT. "very comfortable camping" for one old guy with his dog. But a TT might not fit your MO for your channel. I really enjoy your truck camping vids. Carry on there young fella.
I really just don't want to drag a travel trailer around or pay storage costs when not in use, maybe someday in the future when I have an acreage to park it on 👍

I thought there would have been more, I see Toyota and Jeep have that marked pretty much to themselves, 1 Ford, 1 Dodge and 1 chevy....That was my surprise....Plus looked as if all that stuff was high dollars.....
I was expecting high priced builds etc but was really hoping to see some largeEarthroamer type builds and four wheel camper style pop-ups. I think I need to check out Overland Expo sometime this year, maybe that will have a larger variety of vehicles.
All of that beef on a black series , then they have plastic plumbing exposed on the bottom ,.....HMMMM..............
