Thank you all for this wonderful Brahms Piano Trio no 1. A real gem. Leonidas, Gautier and Yuja seem to have the same thoughts about how this music shall be played. I only can say: Bravo!
The piano is too much to the fore. This muddies the performance some what. The wonderful Heifetz recording from way back leaves all others for dead it’s just a miracle.

Up there with my all-time favorite performance, Casals, Stern, and Myra Hess. (The best performances ignore Brahms's marking of Allegro con brio for the first movement in favor of an Allegro sostenuto.)
