Despite it being unlikely, Dr. Doom (in a rare exception) does have a built-in reason for not showing his face. I think it would be better if they did a 'Darth Vader', with someone else dawning the face while RDJ would convey the emotions.
It’s weird because I can see the similarities between Tony and Victor. I see how they could make this work. Especially if he shows in the fantastic four universe before the MCU. It probably would’ve been crazier had they decided to keep his casting a secret until one of the avengers movies.

All I want from this movie is to have a good story, good characters, and bring something refreshing to the MCU. I was always hopeful for Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards even before his casting was 100% confirmed. There’s been numerous times we were wrong about castings. Heath Ledger as Joker, Robert Pattinson and Michael Keaton as Batman, Daniel Craig as James Bond. There was also some backlash against Chris Evans as Captain America since he had previously played Johnny Storm in the Tim Story F4 movies. Pascal can totally pull it off as Reed Richards. We have to wait and see the actual performance speak for itself.
I have a wayyy out there theory: what if Giancarlo Espositos character in captain America, JG brigs (a disgruntled ex shield agent who advocates for the economic benefit of experimenting with adamantium from Tiamat for his home country of Latveria), rises to the ranks of ruler because of his discoveries and becomes dr doom- to go crazier you could have a version of kang show up played by G.E. and reveal he was never supposed to be doom, he was supposed to be kang.. then he ditches the green and silver for his white costume and creates battle world.
Y'know, I really like how they made F4 set in an completely different universe because it allows them to do whatever they want, as long as it feels like F4.
I think the biggest thing working against F4 rn is honestly the MCU itself, more specifically the public's perception of it. I think it has the potential to be a truly great movie and help the franchise in the ways you described, but it'll only get there if people actually go to see it. I'm hopeful, but with all the burnout that general audiences have been feeling lately there's always a chance that people just won't see it or won't care about how it may affect the MCU going forward
Besides Doctor Doom and Galactus, I really hope the film introduce other F4 villains, like Mole Man, Mad Thinker, Molecule Man, Dragon man, Puppet Master and others. With the rumors that the film will take place in a alternative reality, they could have the F4 already having a established rogues gallery, who, in the end, could help them in the battle against Galactus, representing the F4 themes about family and working together.
Whatever they end up doing with Doctor Doom, I just hope he isn't reduced to 'the next big bad' who gets a bunch of build-up then is out of the picture after just one or two big crossover films. He should be the next Loki type character, a villain who is a mainstay that sticks around, sometimes as a main villain, other times as a reluctant ally, but also isn't someone who they can easily defeat. Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes handled him so well and I feel that is the blueprint they should follow, but they could expand it with things like his relationship with Doctor Strange or heck, he could easily lead his own project since he is such a complex character who isn't clear cut evil.
Doom is awesome but he needs more build up to be a big Avengers movie villain, like one movie isn’t enough to flesh out Reed’s and Doom’s rivalry and he’s not even the main villain of the next movie
The most memorable marvel stuff to come out recently was Guardians 3, no way home, and a select few of the television shows like Moon Knight, Wandavision, and Loki. What does that spell out? Family from the Guardians. Meaningful stakes that last longer than the next movie from Spidey. For the TV stuff, we need actual exploration of ideas(WV), Great Characters and character moments(Moon Knight), and truly epic conclusions (Loki).
What a brilliant video this is. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this, your passion is infectious and the quality / delivery of this vid is class. Keep it up dude 🔥
I’m personally excited for this movie and hope it’s awesome , also I would really like to see Johnny be one of the main characters that help Peter Parker come out of the shadows. And I really don’t want Reed to end up being a villain
The one thing I want them to get right, whether it’s in this film or not is Doctor Doom. He’s my favourite Marvel villain. He looks incredible but his character has so much depth. It’s a commentary on the constant need for success and never feeling fulfilled in life and how lonely that can be. I think what makes Doom so interesting is that his heart is actually pure (that’s how he gets access to the Vibranium in Doom Wars from Wakanda). He honestly feels he is living up to “with great power there must also come great responsibility”. He wants the world to be happy and prosperous and he thinks the only way to do that is if he’s the guy leading the charge. Add the relationship he has with his mother who’s in hell, he jealousy for Reed, his respect for Doctor Strange and how he is the Marvel villain. This guy in both Secret Wars was the best part and in the 2015 version was the main character, saving the multiverse to create Battleworld/Latverion. I think this film from what Feige has hinted is a different universe where the 1960’s have a little more modernism to it and I think this is the right way to go, I think it’s cleaner and more interesting visually for this characters and can allow for the stories to be more isolated to start which gives us more time to spend time with the characters and not have that time wasted on big exposition on why there are in Earth 19999 but never been mentioned
Good points you made. I just want a good film to see with my dad, he loves the Fantastic Four and I just want a good time. I do understand your criticisms with the MCU. I believe they can do it.
Man I can’t wait for this movie bc Johnny Storm is my favorite F4 member but I still love the team as a whole especially since Doctor Doom is my favorite marvel villain second is Magneto for me but at the same time I’m still hyped for this movie despite a lot of the crazy stuff going on in the background. But I really do hope we get Johnny and Peter as friend/brother like relationship.
Hey Troy? I know you said you haven't watched the Bear, but please watch the episode "Forks". I firmly believe that episode got him the role of Ben Grimm.
Given the X-Men's connection to the Civil Rights movement, I think it would be interesting if some version of them exists in that same alternate 1960s that the Fantastic Four are going to take place in. Also, it would cool if they play Surfing with the Alien by Joe Statriani during a scene where Silver Surfer is flying around on earth.
I think my two favourite castings for the team are Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss Bachrach, both are talented actors and are perfect for their respective characters!
1. Because this movie is going to be in a different universe I hope this movie feels different. Like, more serious, less jokey, etc. 2. I hope Reed is actually smart. Like, we don’t need a repeat of MoM. Reed is one of if not the smartest Marvel characters. Make him feel smart. 3. I hope we see some unique stretching scenes with Reed. 4. Sue needs to be awesome but can’t be like marvels recent female characters. She needs to be a Badass but not arrogant.
@@oscarkamala I’m just comparing her to characters like Captain Marvel. She needs to be more Natasha Romanoff than Carol Danvers. Also just saying that based on the discourse lately. we all know those groups of people who get mad when they see you female characters in marvel. I am not one of them. I’m just saying for the sake of the office you need to think about them.
MoM Reed wasn't bad though, people just like to insult him for one thing even though similar things like that have happened in comics and even made sense with respect to the movie and universe it was set in
THANK YOU for being one of the only people I've seen talk about that "chart in the 60s" line from DS2. It has been driving me INSANE when talking about when the f4 movie is going to be set in.
I was hopeful they'd make the Thing using practical effects because the actor playing him is very slim. Like Peter Weller was for RC. That would be cool. The Thing isn't so big that he can't not be CGI. Practical effects with enhanced CGI touches, like Hellboy would work best I think. Would make his character more real if he brought to film this way.
Can you give ideas 💡 on how Marvel can introducing The Squadron Supreme, The Midnighter, The Shroud, Blue Marvel, Miracleman, Quasar, The Runner 🏃♂️, The Blur, Songbird into the MCU!
I used to be a huge fan and went to the movies for every superhero film and watched every show religiously. All I’ve really been interested was in other universes like The Boys and Invincible, but now that both a fantastic four movie and a Superman movie are coming out sparks hope. Especially because this Superman is going to show hope and what Superman means. The Fantastic Four are also an amazing addition to finally have. The Fantastic Four comics and movies made my childhood along with Superman. I’m finally hopeful that hero content from DC and Marvel is back.
I've been reading Dan Slott's run recently, and I'm loving the family stuff in it so far. Sadly, a lot of people say this run is bad, so I'm bracing for it, but i don't see it right now.
My Reed Richards fancast was always Matt Smith. His role in Doctor Who as my favorite version of that character was great and he's been recently known to play very menacing, and he has a lot of range. When Pedro Pascal's casting was announced though, I was hyped because he's just an awesome actor and I'm really interested to see what he does with the character. Also Natasha Leonne is the star of my favorite movie ever (But I'm a Cheerleader) so I'm very excited to see what character she'll be playing here!

I'm gonna be completely honest, I don't care for the reboot of the MCU. It would just kinda feel like they're throwing everything away after a few years of bad luck. I don't want the universe I grew up on to disappear in favour of characters I'm unfamiliar with.
If the Silver Surfer in the FF movie is Shallah Bal, I'd love to see Marvel do something similar to what DC did with Thomas Wayne in Flashpoint. Where once the FF arrive in the main universe and meet the Norrin Radd Silver Surfer, they can tell him about Shallah from their universe. If she decides to rebel against Galactus, maybe it's them telling Norrin this that helps inspire him to do the same.

Seeing Troy mentions MF DOOM just makes me so happy
Best pick for me is „All Caps” tho
I like the comic-book feel of your channel. As always, keep it up!
This aged pretty good
10:37
The Fantastic Four was actually a vocal group back in the 60s, this isn’t a joke about the Beatles 😂
If it does end up being a period piece, it’d be pretty cool of them to set up blue marvel with a cameo, just saying
i like how bro predicted the doom movie 😭
Bro predicted it
14:36 nah cause how did bro actually predict it perfectly.
The way this aged
No way he predicted the future
14:12 IT MIGHT SEEM CRAZY WHAT IM BOUTTA SAY 🗣
I kinda want doom to just kill the council of kangs to show how powerful he is idk would be cool
Thai guy predicted avengers doomsday lmao
Doom is awesome but he needs more build up to be a big Avengers movie villain, like one movie isn’t enough to flesh out Reed’s and Doom’s rivalry and he’s not even the main villain of the next movie
Aight, Im gonna just do my part:
Oh! There's only gonna be one thing in this movie!
12:34 that’s the cleanest transition I’ve ever seen!
0:12 ironically out of the films we got that ones the best.
I 💯 percent agree with you , if they mess up doom or magneto I'm out. Dr Doom needs to basically be the next Loki on a bigger scale
my man predicted the future
I think the Fantastic 4 feels different because their actually iconic. They can fill the whole Tony and Cap left
14:35 (monkey’s paw curls)
2:32 cracked me up
Glad you mentioned mf doom at the end there, i was waiting lol, i also hope for doomsday
All I want from a Fantastic Four movie is The Thing as Blackbeard.
She needs to be a Badass but not arrogant.
that last part 🤢
@@oscarkamala I’m just comparing her to characters like Captain Marvel. She needs to be more Natasha Romanoff than Carol Danvers. Also just saying that based on the discourse lately. we all know those groups of people who get mad when they see you female characters in marvel. I am not one of them. I’m just saying for the sake of the office you need to think about them.
@@oscarkamala we found the only person who watched and liked the marvels lmao
MoM Reed wasn't bad though, people just like to insult him for one thing even though similar things like that have happened in comics and even made sense with respect to the movie and universe it was set in
Fantastic 4 always had comedic elements :/.
Feel like everyone forgot Ebon Moss was in The Punisher and his acting was pretty good, now people only know him as "Cousin" from The Bear
I believe it's been confirmed it's both a 60s period piece AND an alternative earth.
Well this aged well with Avengers doomsday being announced
I would be fine with the first film not having a full villain or focus on the family dynamic whilst slowly setting up a villain for a second film
I honestly just really hope we get and peter and johnny relationship
Future seeing man
I've been reading Dan Slott's run recently, and I'm loving the family stuff in it so far.
Yeah Matt Smith was always my favorite of the "rumors" purely because I'm an 11th Doctor fanboy 4 lyfe lol
Matt Smith would've been perfect
@@troyoboyo17 yeah, I am an 11 fan girl, I've been rewatching and 11 just regenerated and I miss him already, even if his dynamic with Clara doesn't work as well as his dynamic with the Ponds
He doesn't have enough eyebrows :(
I'm gonna be completely honest, I don't care for the reboot of the MCU. It would just kinda feel like they're throwing everything away after a few years of bad luck. I don't want the universe I grew up on to disappear in favour of characters I'm unfamiliar with.
Deadpool & Wolverine made me more excited for the future of the MCU
troy is a prophet i swear to god
Dude predicted “Avengers: Doomsday” before it was announced
If the Silver Surfer in the FF movie is Shallah Bal, I'd love to see Marvel do something similar to what DC did with Thomas Wayne in Flashpoint. Where once the FF arrive in the main universe and meet the Norrin Radd Silver Surfer, they can tell him about Shallah from their universe. If she decides to rebel against Galactus, maybe it's them telling Norrin this that helps inspire him to do the same.
