Thank you! I didn't know how much I needed this video

Thank you SO much for this video! I bought one of these in 1990, with a Ram 5 cartridge, and it has been in storage for over 20 years. Happily, it is in excellent condition and passed every test in service mode. Does that mean the battery is still okay, or is there another way to test it?

I just bought a used TX802 and want to restore the performances to factory reset. If I do press ENT+YES in Test-56, it just proceeds to Test-57 (as if I just press +1 (which obviously is the same button as YES) and nothing else happens. What is my mistake?

Hi Simon, did you find out an answer to your question? My TX802 is doing the same thing - when I press ENT+YES in Test-56 it just proceeds to Test-57. It does not do a factory reset?

Did not find a solution yet.

@@simonbay3044 OK.... if I find an answer I'll let you know if you can do the same.
Maybe its the internal battery as I'm the original owner but had not turned it on in 15 years.

Great Video...... however when I try to do a factory reset - I press ENT+YES in Test-56 it just proceeds to Test-57. It does not do a factory reset?
If you know the answer to why its doing this it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks...

    Hello,
I need to restore default performances in a TX802 I just bought.
Unfortunately I didn't know that the old owner had changed them! Can you
    help me please?

Hi there, I'm dealing with an odd behaving TX802.. ua-cam.com/video/Zgur6XFLTiY/v-deo.html wondering if anyone might know what could be up.. i'm guessing it's not the hardware but rather the EPROM.. mostly because if you try to restore the default settings it gives an error.. the button testing is a bit touchy but that could just be aged button contacts as it does respond to key presses but sometimes says "Error" even though you hit the right button AND it does advance to the next (as if you pressed the right one after all).. but this too might even be eprom program corruption?

The Rom here is V1.0, ive done the reset and the performances above 32 are garbage. My research suggests the latter Rom does restore everythjng. Thanks

Hi there, do you have the factory performances on SYSEX that you could email me. I'm helping one of the guys from the UK band The Human League to get his TX802 up and running.

shabbee The presets are stored in ROM. I believe the ROM banks correspond to the DX7 banks A,B, & D, so most (if not all) of the stock FM patches should be there already (and can never be lost).
