So I have to say... this is the BEST video. I saw a video (freaking 5 Minute Crafts sucked me in!) And it showed someone arm crocheting a blanket and it looked SO FREAKING EASY! I needed a few more Christmas gifts and was short on cash so I was super excited about this, knowing I could get a good deal on yarn. I buy 6 skeens of super thick yarn and watch the video. Can't get it to work. I try over and over and end up undoing my work each time. I get frustrated and go in search of other videos. I watch at least 10 other videos and none of them are working for me and I've knitted, crocheted and knotted one entire skeen at least 15 times. Its been over 3 hours and I am almost in tears. I start searching for a giant crochet hook 'cause maybe I can still salvage this yarn... and then this video pops up. HALEFREAKINGLUJAH!!!!!!! Girl, I made a huge, beautiful blanket in less than an hour and you saved my butt. Sorry for the long ass comment but thank you sooooooooo much!
HOLY COW I REMEMBER THIS!!!!! Elementary I was taught this technique except we called it "finger crochet" I LOVED it and I'd have LOOOOOOONG ropes of it!!! That's the only thing........all we did was the "ropes"I had NO IDEA you could do this WOW I LOOOOOOOOOVE IT and it's WONDERFUL that it takes me back to my happiest times as a young'in!!! lol WOW THANK YOU for sharing and bringing back a VERY HAPPY ACTIVITY when I was a child!!!!!!!!!
This is so beautiful and relaxing to watch. The finished project has such an ethereal look to it. So unique. I don't know how to knit but I may try this as my first project since it seems like you could learn the process of knitting better with just your hands. Thank you for such a great video!
Сама я вяжу. Могу связать что угодно! Но такое вижу впервые! Скажу я вам, что вы большая молодец, выглядит потрясающе!!! Спасибо большое за неординарную идею!!!)))
Awesome! All these years I would get frustrated if I couldn't find my needles,I could have used my hands. It was like watching a beautiful story unfold. It was calming. That came out beautiful! Thanks for sharing. 👏👏👏👏👏
I've never watched arm knitting before...I'm glad I did, you made it fun, the camera work was great! And no talking to slow down the process. Thank you!! 👍🌈💫. I gotta try this now. Could do it while watching TV. Perfect!!
I have finger knitted about 120 feet of the tube so far and I really don't know how much I need. I will be done my skein tonight and I will start arm knitting and find out I guess. This project is and looks awesome! I can hardly wait for my wife to wear it to work and make all the girls jealous. LOL. Thanks for the upload!
I knitted with two needles and crochet and for a long time I wanted to make one of those blankets with giganticly thick thread and I couldn't because that kind of fat thread is not available in my country and this tutorial gave me the great idea of using a thin thread and turn it into thick thread!
Thank You Very Much! Класс! Из простой пряжи получилось прям как пряжа мериноса. Прекрасный Хамут можно сделать и даже плед! Да что угодно! Прекрасная женщина! Спасибо большое!

Such a good idea. As soon as i saw this i started. Only downside is that it does take quite a while, within the first hour of me doung this i did around 4 metres. Also some of my loops were quite big but i didnt really mind as it was going to be knitted together. Instead i decided to do a blanket as i would find it of more use x
I have no clue what the title says or half of these comments, but that braided/I-cord like technique they did has literally just made arm knitting the coolest thing.
(If you're still wondering) the title is in polish. It doesnt translate amazingly well into english but it roughly says "Braided chimney by Hand". The word "pleciony" usually refers to basketwork but it can also be used as braided or woven. And that's your #factoftheday Oh also some of the comments are in Polish, Russian, and Ukranian.
I loved it 😍 this is so creative and beautiful.. specifically the thick yarns for making big blankets aren't available in my country.. and the music is so calm and satisfying 😍😍💙💙

Resourceful and innovative and just plain INCREDIBLE! WELL DONE YOU! I fully appreciate this opportunity to make something beautiful out of my own hands!
I made this this year. It was actually my first completed crochet project. Super happy with the snood? Scarf? Hat? Idk but I just ended up calling it a thneed. As it can be come all of those things. Next step: Making that blanket with my feet in place of fingers. Wish me luck!
I'm so happy to start this pattern. Been think of what yard to use and I finally found it. Now putting my fingers to work. I wish I could send a pic. Thank you so much and I subscribed.
Thank you for sharing! Very clear example and so helpful to follow along! I have to be somewhere boring all day tomorrow where I can not bring knitting needles so doing this will keep me sane :)

jumbo size needle tatting (the arm crochet thing looks like the same pattern as basic needle tatting). The hand crochet part in the first 5 minutes is something I did as a kid when I was bored....Never thought to make a long chain from that though for use in other projects... Thanks!!
Me too. I made a ton of hair ribbons. I wanted to know how to crochet but didn't know how and when my friend's cousin taught me how to do this, I was ecstatic to know how to do something with my hands!

Basic chain stitch crochet using your hands instead of a hook. Great idea!! That would make a beautiful warm blanket, but take a lot of yarn to do it!
