    Omg your video is truly amazing seriously. I love the fact that you say to take a rest because my hands were killing me. I have tried making a Moses basket before and gave up. Your video is perfect. Especially the hidden row beginning and how to make it perfect. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your wonderful skills. 😊❤

    So I just ordered a new base. My old base has 118 holds. I am going to start over once it arrives since I have two more months. lol I like the way you do the stitches to the base better in this version, so will start over and see if I can make due with the 86-90 holes. I kept feeling this one had way too many holes. I didn't skip any, but the stitches aren't as neat looking, they seem very cramped. But skipping holes didn't look nice to me. I'll update more once i get the new base and begin again!

      @@lissac67 I agree. My first base had 108 holes. I took it down to 100 and it was perfect. Now the largest base I can get has 84 holes and I am struggling with the wall staying straight. They lean in. I have ripped it out so many times the cord is looking fuzzy. Idk

    I finished this version of the basket with the new base! I used the linked wood base in the same size (29.5"x16") and mine had 86 holes. I did the basket 3 times to get the hook size right, but ended up doing one stitch in every hole with a 15mm hook. I did the non-hooded version and it came out great!

      Hi @lauren ! Did you use the 15mm hook for all the rounds, including the setup round? My basket is narrowing using the 86 hole base and 9mm hook, so a I am going to try the 15mm hook you mentioned, but wondering how far back I should unravel my basket. Thanks!

    • @LaurenSymmes

      @liannecuscani6177 The set up round I used a smaller hook just to make it easier to get through the holes! But for everything else I used the 15mm.

I was very sore with neck/back/hand pain for days after finishing the first two but it’s so worth it!! I got on your site to see how to just make tossils; however, I watched the WHOLE basket demonstration. You are WONDERFUL!! I followed another set of instructions and my basket is done. I should rip it out and start over but will learn from my mistakes and follow your instructions next time! Your video and instructions are so MUCH better than the one I followed. From attaching the yarn to the base to the handles to the invisible join stitch is much nicer...easier! I am going to buy more yarn and make another one! Thank you!

    I just started this project today and using the old directions, I was already messed up after the first row. I'm so glad you posted this new updated tutorial - the timing is perfect! I'll update on how it goes!
    My Project Details:
    I used the linked wood base in the same size (29.5"x16") and mine only had 86 holes. I did the basket 3 times to get the hook size right, but ended up doing one stitch in every hole with a 15mm hook.

      @yarnTh3ory  9 місяців тому

      Yes keep me updated!
      (The vendor just released the bases with the new specs this month. )
      Edit: 22 Feb 2024 - Just learned from the vendor that the new bases will have 86 holes. I will add my comments on that base once I have a chance to work with it.

    • @sugnspice
      @sugnspice 9 місяців тому

      @@yarnTh3oryI ordered as well and was told the board will have 86 holes but they will shoot for 90. My question for you is, will we have to make any adjustments to the pattern since we won’t have 100 or 110 holes? Also how long did it take you from start to finish?

    • @yarnTh3ory
      @yarnTh3ory  9 місяців тому +1

      I haven’t worked with that version of the base yet but will report back with my exact thoughts when I have a chance.
      I’m curious since there is a reduction in the number of holes if the holes are bigger. I’m making an assumption that you will not need to skip any holes.

    Thank you so much for this tutorial... I have to say I love your voice. it's so soothing! Did you. Change from a 12 mm hook used in your 1st tutorial to a 9mm hook this time for any practical reason?

    • @yarnTh3ory
      @yarnTh3ory  9 місяців тому +1

      I made the bassinet three times when preparing for the video. I used a 12mm, 10mm and the 9mm. They all come out nicely. The only real difference is that the 9mm hook fits into the holes of the base and the stitches are slightly tighter.

    When you talk about skipping stitches in round 1 so that it doesn't "fan out" - what are we aiming for in round 1? Should it be lying flat with the base or curling up? Thanks for the video!

    • @yarnTh3ory
      @yarnTh3ory  8 днів тому

      Ultimately you want the walls of the basket to stand up straight. If they “fan out” that means there are too many stitches. If they taper in, too little stitches or they are spaced too far apart.
      As mentioned in the video everyone will need to skip stitches. It will all depend on your base and the materials you are using.

      Congratulations! I’ve linked the cord I used in the description box of this video. I think if you purpose the cord directly from Bobbiny, they may ship to Portugal. Another option would be to go to Bobbinys website and check out their list of distributors/stores who carry the cord in various countries. I hope this helps!

      The waistcoat stitch would definitely work well for Christmas stockings. I believe there is a pattern either on Etsy or ravelry that uses this stitch for that purpose.

    first off i love this tutorial. This is my first time seeing this and my cousin is having her second grandbaby and i'm working this for her. My trouble is and it may just be me but i cannot no matter what hook size i use get the cord through the holes. I'm using a 6mm at the moment and just pulling the loops up and forming the setup round. I don't know how this will turn out but i'm doing my best to make the chains uniform. Do you think this will be okay? i don't want to crack my wood forcing the hooks through. Please advise if you have any suggestions. Thank you for the Tutorial 💜💜
