At least Galactus isnt a cloud.
sad this is big positive
out of most creators i watch some reason Yellow Flash was more kind of this, i thought it was shit, 60s look is nice but everything else will be bad, the casting is terrible, Ben voice is off should be deeper and cooking scene was just stupid and out of character for Ben. The list goes on everything wrong with this "teaser" it was trailer being over a minute long
Bare minimum I'm afraid
Rise of the Silver Surfer was a terrible film... but at least the Surfer was still a man in that 🤣🤣
I really don't get it... if they wanted to have a female Herald, why not Nova? Or Stardust? But nope... gotta take the most famous one and gender-swap them for absolutely zero reason whatsoever... 🙄🙄🙄
@@TheBigBlueBugofJusticeI mean, a female Silver Surfer does exist in the comics. But it was one or two one-off comics that hardly have any impact on major canon.
This is a different reality, when they use Galactus in the main MCU it'll be Norinn Radd
My only problem with the film is Pedro Pascal's casting.
Having Galactus as the threat of the first film isn't inherently a bad thing but he shouldn't appear right away, he should be represented by the Silver Surfer and then be the main villain of an Avengers film.
it's a different timeline
You're not the only one having a problem with this casting.
And keep in mind we won't have Norrin Radd as the Silver Surfer but Shalla Bal, another gender swap woke crap...
@@cyryc Galactus can travel the multiverse. If I were to guess this will end with Galactus destroying this universe's Earth, forcing the Fantastic Four to travel to the MCU universe, with Galactus tracing them.
@nathanieldiaz5254 Galactus can't travel the Multiverse, he's a multiversal constant. The one we meet in this movie won't be the same one used later in the MCU, same with the Silver Surfer
Agreed. I'm tired of seeing Pedro be in everything, especially this one, because he'll accept any role, even if it's for a quota. It's too early to show Galactus, so they should have saved him for future sequels. They should have Mole Man be the main villain. Still hated the genderswap Silver Surfer, which is why they didn't show it in the trailer.
The costumes look like they're doing an SNL sketch about the Fantastic Four.
Yeah…. With the flat lighting and the dumpy, average build of the actors….
EXCELLENT THORIAS UNLIMITED WORK. 😊😊😊😅
Everyone, let's prepare ourselves for Even more Pedro Pascal glazing.
Why do people like that guy so much he’s so sterile and bland ?
@LostHorizons0 I'm subscribed to one person who's a fan of him. And even then, still don't know. For all I know, He's like a lot of the celebrities, selling their souls for fame, fortune and glory.
@@LostHorizons0
Can' stand this guy, everytime I see him it's not a character, it's just Pedro Pascal, talk about lack of talent...
@@LostHorizons0politics. He doesn't just hold the "proper" views, he's practically nobility among the extremist weirdos, given his great uncle (whom he's expressed admiration for) was Salvador Allende, one of the best known socialist dictators in Latam after Castro himself.
@@disalazarg is that Freaking True?! :0
Having Galactus as thier first villain seems like a huge mistake. Its like if Thanos was the main villain in Avengers 2012
Galactus was one of the first villains to ever show up in Fantastic Four, though. Silver Surfer showed up and warned them as per usual, and Reed used the Ultimate Nullifier to scare Galactus off.
@@ArthurRex131This is true, but Galactus should be a 2 parter if you're going to bring him in as an initial threat. Have them dealing with the Surfer first, then the climax is half fighting half figuring out She *sigh* isn't the threat and Galactus shows up immediately after and announces his presence. That way Galactus gets a full movie for himself and we get good build-up.
The Thing looks great, but that voice is just off. I always think of Ben Grimm as having a deep New York accent.
They have Ben acting like a simp as opposed to his rough Brooklyn upbringing.
That “thing” is way too small and sounds like a teenage boy not like a human that is made of rock.
Yes, I agree.
@@Jonkin715 yes, the voice and attitude are wrong.
Ben grew up around gangs in a Brooklyn neighborhood.
Here he sounds like that SimpHulk from the avengers.
The Virgin First Steps Thing vs The Chad, Brooklyn Tough Guy Thing
Reed's personality is way off, also we never see his powers (bad sign). Sue looks great but her taking Reed's place as the lead of the team is just wrong imo and how tf does Ben still sound like a normal human?
I want the movie to be good, but seeing how they ruined Reed Richards, I have no hope.
Wait, Sue is the leader?! Fuck this, I'm out.
You expect a man to lead a strong independent woman™ in a modern Disney movie?
Talk about fantasy!
Fun fact: A female Silver Surfer actually exists in the comics. She appeared in the Earth X, a 90s mini series. It is set in an alternate version of the Marvel universe.
With that said, they definitely should have stayed faithful to 616 and kept Male Surfer.
My first reaction was that Sue was about 50 y.o. wearing industrial makeup to look 40. That isn't 20 something Sue, that's her mother or Nana.
I often think that I just get different versions of films and trailers then other folks
I'm not giving them any of my money.
Ok?
Tf you here for then dumbass!
I find it hard to believe you have money.
And yet, you’re here…Weird.
@@IanIsraelHe is here giving money... to Disney? Is that what you mean?

Quality over quantity
My exact reaction was, "This is the literal definition of 'safe'."
I'd say that the difference between embracing "silliness" and what I'm seeing in the trailer is that it isn't a self-deprecation of the comic absurdity, but just leaning into the worldbuilding without condescending commentary. As long as they aren't going to break the fourth wall to roll their eyes at the source material, I'm willing to take it in stride.
*This Movie...This Monster!* I don't think I'll ever have high hopes for another MCU movie. But when it comes to the first family of Marvel, maybe the *fantastic fourth* time is the charm.
this needs to make a lot of money like Deadpool and Wolverine levels, no way that's happening
For Fantastic 4???? This film is gonna make millions 💀
No, I think this is a pretty good indication of what's to come. There was no reason to literally do everything into putting their best foot forward with this teaser and either this was their best foot, or they haven't learned and at that point what's the point at all.
The Incredibles is still probably the best Fantastic Four film never made in the way that Robocop is still the best Judge Dredd film.
That’s agreeable there
I thought "Dredd" was nearly perfect for a JD movie. Corman FF at least had some fun.
they didn't show reed's power and not showing female Silver Surfer tells you much, i would wait on this
I've been trying to figure it out but there's something that's just "off" about the trailer. The best way I've found to describe it is like when you look at something made with AI there's something that can be offputting about it. Not always mind you, but at times it's like your brain just recognizes there's something off, unnatural, and inhuman about it and that's how I feel about this trailer. Can't quite put my finger on why though.
How much time have you spent watching UA-cam videos about how bad the MCU is? That might inform your feelings.
YUP
@Pit_Wizard my literally thoughts reading this comment, it's like they can't fathom that woah Disney can make something good.
Midjourney was used for the production design. That’s why.
@John-e4p1x are you actually serious!? Do you have a source to that? That's gonna get a good laugh out of me if it ends up being true. Like I said, I'm neither for or against it, but in this case it's funny that I picked up on it
Your concerns are totally valid. The fantastic four are the first family of comics and they needed to be represented in the most fantastic ways created by lee & kirby for a long time.
I felt very good about this trailer imo, but I too have lost a lot of faith in marvel. Fingers crossed it’ll be an unexpected surprise despite the weird casting.
So Galactus won't be the big bad of the movie, that will be Mole Man and Red Ghost (John Malkovich). The FF beat them and then Galactus arrives and destroys their world.
I'm cautiously optimistic. I like some things that I see, but I cringe at some things that I see and DON'T see.
the thing is apparently 6'1 on the marvel database page, but for me it wasnt too much his height that threw me off but his width and skinny head. and his voice obviously
Yellow Flash probably only content creator wasn't to critical about it, Doomcock hated most of it
The Critical Drinker seemed optimistic.
The thing with the retro 70's futuristic look is people either love it or hate it. Personally im not a big fan but i do like that they're actually doing something interesting with the multi verse for once
Two things. One, if the film is close to The Incredibles in presentation it could be fun. Two, I think Galactus should have been the baddie before Thanos.
I'm surprised by how good it looks. I had no expectations.
This honestly looks like the same stuff we have been getting from marvel, I don't understand Mcu shills, they got the director from wandavison like we know how that series turned out.
I am personally excited for this movie mostly because we haven’t had a good fantastic four movie for decade.
We haven't had a good Fantastic Four movie period
@@nathanieldiaz5254 and we probably still won't
@@nathanieldiaz5254 well, we did get The Incredibles.... that count... right?
@@zerocalvin for me, it does.
@@zerocalvin It counts as the closest thing we've had to a good Fantastic Four movie.
Who would have guessed Fantastic 4 would compete with Spiderman for most reboots.
Don't you mean Batman? Spider-Man only had two (TASM and MCU) and quite frankly those shouldn't have existed.
@ I meant on the marvel side but yeah. It’s funny how F4 competes with industry sustaining characters like Batman and Spidey
@-Azure.EXE- If it's just Marvel then Punisher definitely has more reboots than Spider-Man
I note the "accordian style" Marvel title...reminiscent of the old "Harvey Comics" accordion title.
Say what you want about the 2000s Fox FF movies but they were better than this. Or they at least had better suits, fantasti car and chemistry. And their SS was perfect.
Movie isn’t out and it definitely looks better then those campy movies, especially rise of the silver surfer
You said EXACTLY what i was thinking....WEIRD. IT JUST LOOKED AND FELT WEIRD. CASTING JUST FEELS OFF.
AI made
They go old fashioned for 2 reasons. 1) They want to be able to play the racism card. 2) They believe the timeline is the reason these characters are beloved and not the well written stories and cool factor they have.
I feel like that Galactus shot is going to be the final scene in the movie as a cliffhanger
Yep
This is kind of funny because after The Viper made his exit in GoT, EVERYONE wanted Pascal to join the MCU. It was like, the most trending comment for a while.
That role really attached a warp drive to his career.
As someone who _did_ gravitate towards the FF growing up in the '80s (my big three I had to collect every month were Spider-Man, Iron Man, and the FF), I'm hopeful, but cautious because it's modern Marvel. I don't hate the suits, I definitely don't hate the retro-futurism; and it's a first film, so there's room to advance and grow these things. Cover Thing up as a psychological thing, a statement on the times, and have him bust out of it later. And they can do Galactus justice by having him actually win this fight, y'know. The FF wind up on MCU's Earth as a last resort because their home ceases to exist, or some such plot...in which case, this would end a bit like First Avenger. But who knows.
The line about being there for dinner on time every week, in a Marvel era that we know how they feel about family values (and starring Pedro Pascal, for some...reason...), leads that little voice in my head to worry they end up on MCU's Earth specifically to clash with the modern day values as presented there...in which case, the FF becomes a stand-in for a modernist family from the '60s being taught how to accept post-modernism through future movies in the MCU. If that happens, I'll check out pretty fast if it's done half-assed. I hope I'm just WAY off. But given that Mravel can't understand the reaction to Captain Falcon: Suicidal Empathy, my worst-case-scenario alarms are going off, I think. But I mean... we saw how WandaVision ended.
What DOES give me some encouragement is that this makes me think the future of the Multiverse Saga is outsiders winding up on our Earth in some manner (hopefully, before Secret Wars). I just think that the way every single entry in Phase 4 seemed to have a completely different idea of what was happening with the Multiverse, why things were going down, how it all works, there was NO sense of a unifying vision or plan in place. It's starting to feel like they actually want to take it somewhere now. Whether that'll be any good...? Ehhhh...
I don’t see how Thing being covered up would be a statement on the times when he didn’t wear a shirt in the original 60s comics.
It captures the original spirit of Fantastic Four. I've been a fan for many decades since I was a small boy. I think it looks promising. We will find out!
Villain cloud:
*hurricane Katrina enters the chat*
I'm OK with Sue.
Ben needs better CGI and a more fitting voice.
Herbie: I am really happy to see this guy.
That's exactly what I said, he sounds terrible for the character
Herbie looks so good.
Music and futuristic 60s - are cool.
Best part of it
I think the 60s aesthetic and Galactus makes sense if this movie ends with Galactus destroying their world.
I hope you get to 100,000 subs. I think you genuinely deserve it :)
I like the direction they went with this cause it’s a different universe. They will change once they come into the fold during Doomsday and Secret Wars. But I understand you have to complain about things.
I actually like the retro comic look they are going for- including the costumes.
It feels refreshing. Every other heros look has been updated to now, it’s nice to see a team that’s basically identical to the old comics. I’m skeptical but hopeful for this film.
I’m more excited for this than any other project they have coming out
Go read the Alex Ross' FF 'Full Circle'. Maybe you'll get the art direction for the movie after that.
That book looked far more interesting than the movie. Tbh
Thanks for the mention! Also I admit while I agree the silver surfer casting is weird and how they might handle Reed Richards, I am still optimistic towards this film and feels like the F4 movie fans have always wanted.
In answer to all your " whys" the answer to all is " because Jack Kirby" and" because we tried to do grounded" anti-kirby "with the Eternals and it backfired HARD "
AY UP THORIAS
Is Mr fantastic always 25 years older than Su?
people are so excited that this might not stink as much as all the other product
4:44 because this is for sure alternative earth, probably the end Galactus will eat this earth and they get pulled into 616 MCU universe time line
My one main worry was they would ***k up the Thing's design, make him too big and mean looking, like they did in fan4tastic. The Thing was never meant to be a mountain.
I'm relieved he looks as close to Jack Kirby's original design as possible, which is great. If you don't like it, I don't care, take it up with Jack Kirby. He wore a full suit originally as well, until he tore it up after a few issues.
The only surprise was his voice wasn't as deep as expected, but then who says what his voice sounded like in the comics? the deep voice all stemmed from the 60's cartoon, not the comics. I don't know if I will get used to the voice yet, but I'm not going to cry about it before I have seen the movie.
As a kid of the 70s comic Ben Grimm had a deep gravelly voice. At least that was how he sounded in my imagination as a young comic reader.
Bland-tastic 4 or the Fantastic Bore 😴
Pedro Pascal is not Reed Richards. That's my first big issue. The Thing, yeah, he's got some issues, but I don't hate it, so at least that's something. Sue and Johnny are fine. How they all interact will be the real test. The look is very stylized and that's going to really come down to personal taste. Silver Surf-her is another big problem, and they didn't show her.....interesting. Galactus should be built up to like Thanos was. Are they going to fight him and defeat him in this film? I'm reserving judgement for now. I'm cautiously optimistic and leaving plenty of room for Marvel to blow it.
There's no way they had 5+ movies to set up Thanos but Galactus gets one offed. He is definitely gonna win in this film and they are gonna send him to an alternate universe or something.
I like the aesthetic, so far it feels like a Marvel movie that actually care about the visuals and not just "we'll fix it later with CGI and awful color grading". That said, they should just say that it's a new take on the MCU and commit to the retro-futuristic bit.
Fantastic Four belong in a retro Space Age era. Even if it's for one movie. It makes sense. The original 60s comics had a sense of Atomic Age wonder and awe. Im here for it.
Doesn't matter. Did you see Vanessa Kirby in the superhero costume?
I don't think Ben should be the same size as Hulk. In the comics he's probably around 6 ft tall while Hulk is much bigger, maybe 7-8 ft or taller.
The garlic joke stinks
That was supposed to be a joke?
@@Alpha_Digamma it's a joke but also a comment on the cooking scene
I guess it just went over my head. Or I was way too confused why they showed that in the trailer instead of superhero stuff.
@@Alpha_Digamma i was scratching my head too... youre not alone
Maybe, just MAYBE this is a "The Maker" origin story. I would love that twist, but doubt they would do something like that.
MCU Maker would be crazy, maybe he could be a sequel villain.
Mustachio Reed Ricardo= why?
Old looking Sue Richards = why?
Smooth voiced Ben Grimm, cooking Ben Grimm, full-covered Ben grimm, small Ben Grimm= why?
Female Silver Surfer= why?
None of the classic costumes = why?
This looks like a weird version of a comicbook none of the people involved ever read. I like the stylistic choice (bring something fresh to a stale franchise) and I can get the alternate Earth idea (because until now we never saw them at all or even hinted at in the MCU). But this has both Phase 4 Fiasco and Fan4stic debacle written all over it, down to the very obvious prominence of Sue in this, positioning her as the actual leader instead of Reed.
But most of all; why can they never, ever, stick to the original material, _especially_ with the FF?
Because they know best and comics were for children
@@noylj1 Wrong. American comics were for teenagers from the beginning and in a few decades transited to YA. And then there are adult comics too and some adult versions of those same comics. Netflix' Daredevil was not for children.
Indeed you can take a children story and tune it for adults if you want to. As an example, here in Quebec, we have a whole series of books called Les Contes Interdits (Forbidden Tales) where every fairy tale and children story, from Bambi to Wizard of Oz, are retold as horror stories definitely _not_ for children.
Regardless, that does not in any way explain the stupid choices they made. Even if this was aimed at children. Children doesn't mean silly, off-base or inaccurate.
I really like the aesthetics of the trailer because I'm a big fan of retrofuturism. I'm not a big FF fan , so I'd probably watch it just for the retrofuturistic setting without caring of it's good or not.
The size on Ben Grimm as the Thing is very comic accurate to the beginning comics. The voice is problematic.
Love your review, bro. 👍
The Thing comic-wise is 6 foot
I’ve said this before.
With all this competition coming out in July, it needed to knock it out the park, and it didn’t. It was boring. I have Superman being the box office winner here & seeing this didn’t help change my mind at all.
I would rather watch 2000s The Fantastic Four movies than watch this reboot because at least they somewhat stay true to the original comics of the 1960s.
1:10
If galactus wins, It could be a great setup for Him as a villain in the main storyline.
The Four defeating Galactus is a thing that happens. I don’t think that having him actually win makes any sense.
Why? Because if he wins then the Earth gets eaten.
Thorias is my spirit animal
"I hope marvel doesn't screw this up"
Are you serious ?
What do you think is going to happen ?
My sweet summer child , they made silver surfer a woman.
It's already over
Pedro Pascal:Noooooo.
Female Surfer :Nooooooooo.
Propaganda Disney production : And I'm outa here...
Well guessing that the old school feel worked for the first Captain America....Let's try this...and it looks promising.
i think i rather rewatch fantastic four 2005 and it's sequel over this.... not when i know there is a female silver surfer in it.
I think the reason they went with Galactus as the villain is that he's the only villain most people associate with the Fantastic Four other than Doctor Doom. And... Marvel has announced Doctor Doom as the big bad for the MCU so they can't use him here.
I'm much more optimistic, I guess, but I liked a lot of what I saw. Pedro Pascal was my biggest question mark, considering how he, as a brown guy, would fit in as this marque figure in the 60s setting. The vibe I got from him being with Sue reminded me of Ricky Ricardo and Lucille Ball... That's a real-life comparison of one of the most famous couples from the era, so maybe this will work.
I'm tired of looking at Pedro. They wasted 20 seconds on ben talking about food. Not enough of what we wanted to see
I liked the trailer personally. I hope they don’t screw this up. I’ve wanted a good Fantastic 4 movie for a long time now. Also, Pedro Pascal is white.
You know, the plot of Marvel Ultimate Alliance would make for a Magnificent Saga in the MCU. Look it up, it would be a way to get All the heroes together like End Game…letting you introduce characters as needed all while allowing you time to get to know the characters again and build up the excitement. Damn I miss the days when we where looking forward to the next movie,
I agree if they left it with a small villain instead of going into a big bad right away. To be honest it doesn't look terrible but it's borderline meh for me.
The thing definitely needs to be bigger. if not taller, then wider.
yeah the big reveal of the FF being on another universe / timeline makes it look weird when pitching the trailer
-Pedro Pascal doesn't look nor act like Reed Richards(fun fact he was the 6th pick out of 5 actors who auditioned for the role).
-Retro futuristic 60s style makes it obvious that this is a different universe and therefore we are still doing the multiverse and I'm already not interested in it at all.
-The Thing is close to 7 feet tall and weights over 500 pounds and his voice does give me flashbacks of The Abomination's voice from She-Hulk.
-Galactus is a galaxy-level threat and he is the first villain in the F-4's first outing in the M-SHE-U?(Yeah this reeks of desperation from the studio).
-This film doesn't erase all of the M-SHE-U screw ups that came before it and therefore the damage has already been done.
Three times the charm look more like it is going to be a three strikes and you are out type of situation.
I think its looks interesting. Not paid to watch a M-C-U film since Endgame. This actually looks good. Actual practical suits, classic 60's style suits, Galactus as a giant monster instead of a CGI cloud. And bonus, I dont need to watch 5 other shows to understand whats going on.
Feel like people are just hating on the film because "Marvel bad so film bad" *puffs out chest* "Me smart, me believe what youtubers say."
its funny cuz FEIGE turned galactus into a cloud in the 2000s
There's things I like about the trailer and things I don't. I'm happy Galactus looks like he's supposed to. I'm also happy the fantastic 4 car is in here. I hope it will fly, like in the comics and cartoons. I like the retro and futuristic aesthetic. That's done really well. I like we're getting a different villain than Dr. Doom. I love Dr. Doom. I know he's their most iconic and biggest villain. The thing is, it's been done before three times. I'm gonna be contradictory for a minute. I also don't like that Dr. Doom isn't in the movie. Bc he is their biggest and most iconic villain. I really don't like Pedro Pascal is Reed Richards. Hollywood needs to stop! being racist.
Exposition.
Time this is not our Earth. The planet that looks like Earth from the 1960s. Is another Earth from the same time as ours , this is a throw away planet which will probably be consumed by galactus. this fantastic 4 will somehow transport themselves into our universe.
i love the 1960s look
Why the retro-futuristic aethtetic? Probably because Fallout did it and Fallout was successful. "Look, this made money over there, so let's do that too!"
The esthetic is so atompunk I almost expect a Fallout power suit to appear any second. Regarding Galactus, yes, it feels like a waste, but then if you're saving Doom for the Avengers who else do you use for the debut movie? Mole Man?
Im guessing fantastic four is going to be like a prelude at the beginning of a book. Theyll fail to stop galactus and then get transported by the silver surfer to earth 616 or whatever.
the best fantastic 4 movies it the Incredibles and this has that same retro future 60s vibe. it LOOKS great
Don't know if it's true but I heard that some actors that actually play as Richard pass because they didn't like the direction of where they want to go with the character
Sue Storm has aged so much, did Dr. Doom use an aging ray on her?
They should've introduced the Fantastic Four after Endgame and I feel like it's a little too late and I have no interest in this movie.
I like this teaser 😉👍🏻
"Fantastic Four will be the movie's score." I'm happy that I never became a fan of the MCU.
The biggest red flag is that Sue is narrating the final punchline. Yup, the rumors were true, they are DEFINITELY making her the leader of the team instead of Reed.
Turning into the golden goose so she may be the bestest evah?
That's because Sue is really the heart of the team. If you know the F4, you know that Reed's genius is also his detriment.
While the ’05 Fantastic Four isn’t the best, but at least they got Ben’s rugged voice right. Or at least that is how I would expect The Thing to sound like
The trailer wasn't bad - I can dig the 50s/early 60s aesthetic. I actually don't hate the costumes, but I get the complaint.
I'm still whatever about Pedro being cast. I'm still unhappy about the gender-bent Surfer (one of my favorite comic book characters - the Buscema run is classic, and I like what Starlin did with him). They for sure hid female Surfer.
Idk - maybe it'll be good. I just can't get excited for a Marvel film. Fool me once...
This looks more like the Venture Bros. than the Fantastic Four.
This movie looks so retro and strange.
