I've been a Paul McCoy fan for a while before this song came out. His stuff with 12 Stones has been great. I'm going to see him and the lead singer of Saving Abel next month in an acoustic set, so pretty stoked about that.

This is the opposite of peak lmao. This is of their middling debut infancy, and this is not even representative of Evanescence as it has that male vocal. Evanescence have been in their musical and live peak eras now, especially over the last 5 years.

She worked on making her voice more dark but now she sounds like she suffers from some inflammation and she can't hit the high notes like she used to do in her early era. Let's just be honest about this. She still is an amazing singer but she never developed a technique and now she always runs out of breathe. Of course most of their songs are actually difficult. It seems like her songs are made to be only studio versions

It has been around 20 years since I last saw this. I'm not even sure what platform that was on. But this brought me chills. My first real band obsession. Love Amy Lee and Evanescence.
Amazing performance all around from everybody. She’s incredible. I was watching her early days before she became famous, and she was singing in a local bar, history in school etc. everybody who knows her must be so proud, an honor to have seen her in person before an after.
Amy Lee makes me melt. I was a mess the first time I saw them live as she just blew me away with how stunningly beautiful she is. She may not be everyone's cup of tea, but holy god, she is just perfection for me!

another fact: John didn't quit, he was fired from the band and Rocky quit to leave with him. ( I don't think Amy's to blame though. I still love Evanescence and Amy Lee and her current line-up actually seems really healthy in the band relationship side. the only sad thing is Terry had to leave, but he left on good terms and still is friends with Amy and the rest of the band. )

Are you freaking kidding me!?!? THIS is Amy Lee and she has been "rockin" every day since 2003! And even before then! That is why she is so incredible and amazing! Timeless and ethereal and beautiful and talented and one of a kind. She is one of very few artists who has NEVER had to "reinvent" herself because she is exactly who she was supposed to be as a performer for her whole life and we love her for that. Such an incredible unique individual who has done it "her way" and we could not be more proud of her for doing so! You have fans all over the world!
Oh dear, i feel old, i remember watching this because my dad managed to download this video from some website (now, this was 2003, bare in mind back then downloading something from any website was an ADVENTURE) and i was blown away. I was already into nightwish and the Nordic gothic metal bands, but this was so cool in my eyes. Also SALMA next to Amy Lee, that will never happen again!!
Her vocals are astonishing . I actually prefer the rapper version, but I think Amy just dealt with it, but she finally conceded the record company was right about the added dynamic improving the song.
She didn't concede they were right, she and the band just reluctantly agreed to the label's compromise on putting it in one song. The label was pulling their funding and dropping them if they didn't feature it. And no, the label wasn't right, the reason they wanted a male vocal was because it was extremely difficult to break a female-led band in rock radio at the time, and the male vocal/rap rock was the popular thing at the time. Radio initially didn't want to play Evanescence before this.
