Hello everyone, today's video features a recent 3 day exercise (about 2 hours each day) from class where I attempted to paint fabric on a live model. The "outfit", inspired by togas from ancient Rome, was constructed using bedsheets fastened together with safety pins and binder clips 😅 This pose was especially challenging because the model only sits for 20 minutes at a time (with a few minutes break in between), but each time he reset the pose, the fabric would move and so we had to construct a lot of the fabric from imagination. But overall it was a very fun learning experience and I hope you enjoy this video! 😁
    Thanks so much for watching,
    Happy

Honestly Happy, don't feel that you have to ONLY upload gallery quality artworks; we love to see the in betweens, or how you did something from start to finish, or the rough studies because it helps us learn as well. Giving me the itch to do oil painting studies again! I miss my life drawing classes now 😂 thanks so much Happy!!

It flabbergasted me to realize how much of a beautiful art you can make from such a simple source. As complex as it was, knowing it comes from blankets and sheer will and creativity. It’s truly something, it really gets one to feel in the heart the deep potential of art, the one where you can start from little and make it look so rich and beautiful. ❤
It is pleasing to my eye, you don’t need to be epic, whatever you are doing is interesting enough. Also casual for you, can look intricate to us. No matter how long it takes, it is always a good day when you post

You should pay more attention to where the light is. It’s not that it’s too bright or chalky, you’re not placing the overall values in the areas that truly define her face.
