I have a rabbit 81 and I gotta do the same thing, where can I get the cardboard mold and the headliner? I’d Really appreciate the help !

Headliner material is available from SMS fabrics, but you will have to find OEM carboard from a junker

May I ask where you got the new plastic side pieces for the back hatch area that hold the speakers?? I'm working on restoring my 82 2 door, just missing some interior pieces

Doesn't that long trim piece you think is for the headliner go behind the dash at the bottom of the windshield? I had a similar piece behind my dash.

It was for the top windshield trim but I didn't realize that the tabs just rest on the rubber seal and the holes line up with the slots - the factory used slots to give some flexibility in positioning. It is installed now. See my next video for the dash fitting - the lower trim was DOA - it seems most if not all of those plastic trim parts are destroyed by ultraviolet light - I used some black closed-cell foam to replace it and it looks smart so I am happy ...

SMS supplied - correct material for the US spec mk1 GTI, yes.
