Nice start on both. Love the Olds engine blue. Olds had some of the best engine colors. I just picked up another 66’, 67’, and the new 71’. Getting ready to pick up mcw’s 68’ and 70’ as well. Now all I’m missing is 2 of those 72’ convertibles.👍 look forward to seeing these 2 done.
Right on! I have been on buying binges like that before. I even have a Modelhaus 68 442 conversion that I haven’t used yet. I did build one into a 68 Hurst Olds.
Red Poteat (deceased three years ago) who had an auto repair shop in the town I live in owned one of the 1972 Indy pace cars, It had less than 2k miles on it. It had the factory plastic seat protectors on it.
As far as color goes, how about something in the gold family? In '71 Olds offered an interesting color called Bittersweet Poly that would look good with black stripes. Anyway, you're off to a great start.
Great review Raoul! I like your plans for both. I have the '72 Cutlass Convertible Hurst/Olds, but that was before they reissued the kit with the resin figure and the uptop. I want to compare the Revell '71 with the Revell of Germany edition and see if there are any changes that I may like better.
I’m not sure what you are implying? I’m sure you didn’t just buy that directly from Revell as it is not currently offered. If you just bought it from a retailer then I would return it. The Black Widow kit was issued first in 2009, then again in 2016. I’m sure some are still sitting on shelves as that does happen. Revell may offer replacement parts but that was before Revell changed ownership to the current Revell of Germany ownership. At the time that kit was made it was under Hobbico ownership from 2007-2018. Revell USA and Revell of Germany were two separate company’s untill the bankruptcy and now they both are back under one ownership.
I have a 71 w-30 vikeing blue white stripes I am a Oldsmobile guy thanks for your awesome work

Gold with black stripes
Interesting!

I may just do gold but would have to be black interior.

Thanks. I understand that the kits are the same but the decals are a little different. I put that in my Comparison video.
Nice start. How do you pin the mirrors?
It’s pretty easy. I did a How To on pinning mirrors.
I have a model black widow 57 Chevy missing a lot of parts is this what we are to aspect from Revell
