Love the fact that with that intro, Teostra is clearly giving you a chance to back the fuck down and leave. It does a threat display (where it blows the hot wind at you using its wings) and when it understand that neither of you is going to back down, only then does it attack.
He's a lot more merciful than Kushula who immediately trys to snipe you from a whirlwind you can't escape.
nintendomaster64 teo is more ruthless lol the only reason teo acts like this is because he has a trait of a lion. Lions tend to play with their prey and have long stare downs before pouncing. Kush only attacks when you approach it and that’s it
+Javier Rivera Naw. In the monster hunter Dos intro Kush is clearly hunting down the 4 hunters when they try to run away and doesn't let up. Also Kush in world just goes for you without hesitation in his intro. And in 4u in a cutscene, the rusted one comes to the town and puts his face right to the ace hunter's face to taunt him and show he is going to destroy the town soon then flys off. That's pretty ruthless to me. But yes, I know from the lore that Teo is more aggressive.
nintendomaster64 all instances where kush attacks had a reason for his anger. For 4u dundorma Troops we’re taking over all of frozen seaway and no one knew kush had made that area into his own habitat. Kushala was rusting and was forced to leave the frozen seaway so the migration process was threatening dundorma

Honestly I feel like he's way BETTER in this game compared to the old ones.
His new moves like the lava line are genuinely cool and threatening.
His insta-charge doesn't do half your health anymore, but it does give you blastblight. He also doesn't do it when you're right next to him.
There's way more visual clarity to his attacks. For instance, the aoe isn't just random spots within a certain range, it's very clear spots. The supernova is no longer just out of nowhere; 90% of the time I dodged that in the old games, it felt like luck.
And speaking of the supernova, it still does plenty of damage and gives fireblight. With an Odo+Nerg mixed set he still did most of my health. Oneshots are stupid anyway.
Yeah, he's definitely weaker. But just because he was hard in the old games didn't make him fun. I enjoy fights with Nerg because they're very fair but also extremely challenging. I DON'T enjoy a monster starting a charge with zero windup right next to you that does a quarter of your health. Teostra was nerfed, but he was nerfed in a way that made him a much more fun monster to fight.

you are probably the kinda player who says 'if our health pool in dark souls was tripled that'd make boss fights a lot more engaging and requiring of observation'. No, you're just a casual. Nothing wrong with that don't get me wrong, but do understand that a lot of the players appreciate the nervous feeling of having to be extremely careful and get better and better. At least that's what I felt playing MH2 freedom united and MH4U

@@jewii3824 The "nervous feeling" of getting one shot or hit by bad hitboxes is bullshit. If you want to get "the rush", go ahead and use low tier/no armour. Souls players aren't into them because "ehrmagerd this is so hard" (except the posers who just want to brag about playing them and not giving a damn about the lore and atmosphere) They're in it because the games are challenging but fair, the gameplay barely relies on stats but on reaction time and smart play. Plus their music, character interactions, atmosphere, level design are great. Excluding Dark Souls 2.

This fight here is the epitome of "they streamlined many things!", especially to veterans. And you know what? Thank you for that. It's way more accessible but this game is not doo-doo easy, people. To someone who has a basic knowledge of how MH works, yes, it will be easier. But it's literally the same thing for every single game ever. You know your stuff? Then everything's easy for you. But streamlining gathering? Forging? Weapon mobility and monster queues? That makes the game way more fun than "OOPS. Teostra charged at me with his 1-frame attack, now I die and must repeat the mission." If that was fun to you, then you're one of those that puts extra rules for yourself to call yourself "a man". And that's FINE, but don't call someone else on having fun because of that, after all, fun is subjective to some degree.
This game tries its best to generalize that to appeal to everyone. For newbies, we have the easiest to approach title out of all of them (except maybe 4U, that one is still pretty good but has its millions of issues in regards of pacing and UI like every other title), and for veterans, we have tons, TONS of much-needed improvements for weapons and forging in general, which makes us keep going even more when seeing what we can do now.
This game is a lot of fun, and don't get me wrong, I for one want to see a G-Rank, so... that will satisfy many of those veterans. Stop gatekeeping. Let's not be Dark Souls. XD

According to MH elitists, if a monster doesn't kill you in one hit, and it's hitbox isn't as large as the entire area, then it is a casualized normie game.

One hit kills are fine as long as there is a significant build up to the attack giving you time to dodge it. Also 4U, X and XX don't have hit box issues. G Rank in 4U and XX is what elitists go for which is missing here but they are sure to add it down the line.
Exactly as the above guy said. If they add a G rank we will get what we desire - as well as more monsters. I hope this game becomes almost the western Frontier (I know it won't have that kind of longevity, but I'm hoping for something longer lasting than one of the typical main games - somewhere in between).

If you truly like getting one shot in a video game, and having to memorize patterns of a boss only to get hit by a BS hitbox (Cough* Nergigante) then honestly thats all up to you dude.

Well you might like the game when you never played a MH before, but for me (and i don‘t consider myself as an elitist) the spirit of MH is seriously gone with the release of World. The fights are dissapointing (didn‘t die once during the whole game), thus the awesome feeling after a victory is completely gone.
No need for strategy and learning a moveset, mostly simple hack‘n slash with a tad of evasion, no preparation for the hunt since the game is laughable easy, auto-combination of important objects, jewels and the whole fun of making a cool set are also gone, simplified talismans, auto-heal through those insects and so on.
I don‘t want to bash this game and i wish you guys much fun with it, but let people have their own opinion about MH World.

I'm not new to MonHun, I played Monster Hunter 2G I don't what was the name in the US, and Monster Hunter 4, I used to live in Japan so I played a lot with my friends in their house. I just don't feel the difference only in some attacks and there's new mechanic that I'm not familiar with.

MH:W really is the best monster hunter game so far. It might not be as hard as some of the earlier generations, but its at least 10x as fun!

You can see it in many ways in how they streamlined tedius things like gathering. You can just pickup stuff while running. And you know what? Gathering is 10x fun now. There are still some spots where you must wait for the hunter to pickup several items and those are not terrible either.
But Monsters all feel SO fun, in part because they improved how they are all designed AND how every weapon has better mobility in general WITHOUT taking away the whole point of "you must think before you act" that we love of the series.

dear elites of the monster hunting world. Punishing does not equal challenging. stop whining about a game that they havent released G rank for. Also do you know what tempered is? you can run into a Tempered Elder dragon and it will one shot you. also if you couldnt tell BFD is wearing armor tailored for fire attacks
What are tempered elder dragons?
with furtive tracking, you have a chance to unlock a limited mission for a 'tempered' monster related to the unusual tracks you found - a way amped up version of an HR encounter that has special rewards if you can take it on. there's a chance of a chance that the tracks you find will be related to an elder dragon, and a chance of a chance of a chance that that elder dragon has been tempered, making for a potentially deadly encounter. they have a ton more health, pain tolerance, defenses, and damage, and will often be even more aggressive.
ppthht tempered monsters don't have more health, they just have crazy high damage output

I'd rather have Plunderblade, got a Teostra Gem from it, Palico ripped it away from the Monster and I got it in the rewards screen under Palico gathered items
Plunderblade also gives two actives, allowing you to further increase your rewards by selecting them
I was typically receiving what amounts to double loot from the monster, though never before received a gem from this method, usually get a (literal) ton of scales, talons, and similar-quality (low), that you need in high quantities. I mean I grow enough Herbs and Honey to replace the Potions I use, so I'd rather just get more loot at the end of the day personally.

Just saying: This thing along with Amastu Vortex, Nerkorko Particle cannon and etc should be set at instant kill without guts like G or high ranked in previous MH game.

Nergigante seems to be the hardest thing to fight in this game

Not all of them. There’s plenty of flightless elder dragons. Besides, Kirin can practically teleport (rides bolts of lightning).

Saul Moses finally got through the story. Bow was fully upgraded and so was my armor set. I wouldn’t say I rushed through the game. After all was said and done I went to HR29 then HR43.

When Teostra and Daora have their respective auras active, normal shots will be bounced and do 0 damage as a result.

Multiplayer Teo hunts in G rank were always a load of fun because you could be doing fine until the sudden triple cart supernova. Of you might get a few chances to test your timing and superman dive the ranged supernova move. Sometimes over and over. I'm sure it's nerve-wracking for your teammates, but what a rush. Unless this is a lower rank or something, I'm pretty disappointed that it didn't do more damage as well. It feels less exciting.
I don't wanna sound like an ass or anything but, I'm just gonna ask you two, why can't you just appreciate the change? I mean, no offense, opinions are opinions but, if you really want quad cart, insta novas just go back to the older games.

@@teaguevox8160 I can agree somewhat with that. It is a funny tale to experience... every now and then. There is nothing fun in repeating the whole process again. Just because the monster doesn't make you repeat its mission three times out of sudden moves doesn't mean it's instantly unfun. But it IS fun when you're in the moment and you're like "WHOOPS that was craaazy!!"

I soloed teostra last night im using the pink rathian set with maxed out rarity 6 starting sa posion so fast i have maxed out poison attack, attack boost weakness exploit i didnt think pink rathian would last me but i got sick of my diablos power build and went to posion and i am loving it not the flashiest weapon but i like the plain black look but my poison build wrecks
The pink rathian set in this game is the best status set so far. Just replace the arms with the normal rathian so you can get maxed out poison attack. I'm loving this set since I like pink and I like the overall design. When you pair it with the pink rathian CB (800 attack 400 poison) and release your phials, you do a shit ton of damage. I've been able to kill teo in 6 min with this set.
Funny, I just farmed the pink rath set to prepare for nergigante. He was the only monster in the game that carted me more than once. Even though I beat him first try solo with no deaths in the beta.

I found this guy easier in the older monster hunters. This guy pushed me too my limits in this game. Oddly nergigante was mildly difficult for me and not as hard
Idk, nergignate was extremely hard for me, i had no wall in base world and beat all of the other monsters (even the big 3 elders) fine the first time i played but nergignate it took i think 17 restarts. Im at barioth in iceborn and i havent even gotten him limping once and its been like 8 restart and countless MR armor and weapons that do 1000+ dmg farming. I am genuinely dreading ruiner nergignate.
@@NeovenatorGuyhow far are you now? ruiner isnt that hard, the only thing different about him is that his spikes inflict bleed, hes scary during the quest before u fight shara ishvalda but hes actually pretty easy when u do all that MR grinding and fight him at the guiding lands

Except that Sanctuary Guardian was all white, had red eyes, a scorpion tail, FOUR feathered wings, and used lightning attacks. The only similarity is they're both lions.
i myself look at this boss and kinda wish he had a scorpion tail so he could complete that manticore-ish look he has to him. monsters like manticores, chimeras, griffins, etc. those are cool fucking animals and MHW is the closest we're gonna get to an official DDO for the west release.
