Loving the regular uploads😊 your such a cute friend, literally best friend goals, if my bestie is reading this take notes! lol for a change a fellow doc says don't ruin your lives with medicine 😂 I'm a pre med and I cannot even imagine what yet is to come along the way.. I really don't know how you guys cope with night shifts, it sounds insane! & I literally can relate with the heat I mean its bright and shining changes my mood, when it gets like really hot, I can't handle it lol.

Luckily night shifts are a minority of the shifts that we have so they’re totally doable (but very exhausting)

Omg !! I am exactly the same re the seasons... i get weird looks when i say I'm not keen on the summer.. love spring, autumn and winter is my fav !!.. extra bonus is i love winter clothes.. nice cosy coat and nice boots 😊😊😊😊.. my skin is too British to look good in summer clothes 😅😅😅

Oh my god Ezgi, I’m just like you! Getting sticky and agitated in summer 😑
After a night shift the worst thing to do is to sleep like you are hibernated for 5 hours and then get up and hurry your way back to work 😖
I should confess that I do it a lot 🤫
Glad I’m not the only one frustrated with hot weather!
I’m a great sleeper after night shifts. I can sleep for 9 hours. But always try to have 2-3 hours of chill time before I head to work

I'm finishing up my medical degree in the next month, and will be looking to get a non-training FY1 post in the near future. What can I do to best prepare for my transition? Any useful material I can study over the summer to prepare for ward work?

There isn’t much to prepare for actually. You can have a look at my “tips for new FY1” video which can give you more advice that I can type in this comment.
I’m a nutshell I’d go over how to do a good clerking, prescribing fluids, antibiotics for common infections
It also depends on what jobs you have lined up

Burnout is so prevalent in medicine :(
Very true. We get a lot of well-being teaching. So it’s about being aware and opening up about how you’re feeling. It is hard though
