I saw an analysis on twitter that talked about how he was all dressed up and princely at the beginning because a lot of people only see him as a pretty face and hes been fighting that labeling since debut. And after looking in the mirror and seeing that, he dances to unravel and lose all the glammer and just be Hyunjin expressing his passion through dance (and also being playful like yall said and showing his own personality while the smirk can also be kind of "i make this look so easy" moment)

This whole performance are beyond, we all can see his passion and emotions while dancing that we all know only HWANG HYUNJIN can do. I'm so proud of him, and the fact that everyone thought he's coming back in a slow pace but no...as soon as he came back he already showered us STAY with his all love and never been quite in bbl, and even dropped this because he know STAY miss him so much... and look at his power, even we wasn't see him in screen for a long time, as soon as he came back there's nothing change...no, there's changes happened...he become more stronger...and I can't wait for the things he can do in the near future.

my thoughts on this performance : when the video started, he tied his hair like stylists do to him and you can see his perfect beautiful face in the mirror, so this is like when he debuted, everyone focuses on his visuals.
then he started dancing, you still can see his face, so this is like when ppl only see him as the visual of skz no matter how hard he present his skills to everyone.
then he ripped off the cape, that's the last time we see his face clearly. after that his face is always covered by his hair and the shadows. so this is like him getting rid of the 'prince' persona and you cant see his face clearly anymore bcus you are forced to focus on his dancing, his choreography, his talent and not just his visuals. so overall, this performance is him telling everyone that he is more than just a visual

I absolutely love how at the end he just turned around with the whole "Yeah, I just did that" type attitude. He is absolute art. This was art. It was the most beautiful piece of choreography I have ever had the pleasure to witness. Things like this make him just so much more amazing and I struggle to believe/accept that he went into JYP with no skills. The fact that he can do this within three years? It was the best thing he could have done as a "I'm back" type thing. He really brought it and I feel like this just feeds into the rhetoric that the comeback might be a bit of a fantasy AU thing.
