I'm not against mainstream music but the problem with Mumford and Sons and Ed Sheeran is that they didn't promote English folk. They rose to popularity very fast and are almost considered genres onto themselves so it's hard to have a folk revival attached to their coattails. Hopefully the steady rise in popularity of singers like Seth and the Wildwood Kin will one day bring rise to English folk music being at the stage of relevance as rock and other genres and perhaps be as wide reaching as Irish folk has become.
I was fortunate enough to have seen him live in Bristol. What a legend he is!
Lovely song Seth!
the Saviour of English folk.
Cockney Red just saw him for the fourth time tonight at Union chapel. I am Scottish but Seth is a hero of folk music to me
Seth and Bellowhead. Two different styles, but both have been the true saviours.
What an AMAZING sound these two groups of artists make! I hope they both go from strength to strength and their paths continue to cross!
